If you want to see a truly misplaced sense of self and displaced sense of reality, experience the "Hard Rock" attitude as displayed by the staff in the Casino. Somehow they have managed to convince themselves that since it is indeed the "HARD ROCK" in which they ply their trade, their extremely low-wage positions (embarrasing by most standards) indeed merit an elitist approach to guests, patrons and players alike. I sat down at one table at which the dealer was clearly "working" the only other player at the table (an attractive girl) and he was so absolutely irritated that I was rude enough to sit down to play (potentially "horning-in" on his action) that he was as obviously rude as he possibly could be to me. When he won three straight hands, he snickered loudly and insultingly until I was forced to get up and leave (making him visibly pleased.) And I have never been hit-on by so many hookers in one place in my life (and I go to Vegas fairly often.) And I'm not talking about slow, casual come-ons...I'm talking about "wanna date?" one after the other. This place truly is the most overrated experience of any kind in Vegas, but if you want to check out some absolutely inexplicable social behavior, just "hang" in the casino and observe the staff. I don't get it.
