Stayed midweek and only paid $19 per night! Now, had I paid $50 or more, I would have been let-down and not happy, but for a cheap stay it was just right. In short: you can tell this used to be a run-down motel that did a very good job of remodeling recently. It shows that they spent some good money to make it nicer but fell short of going all the way (flat-panel televisions [but only a dozen channels]; Neutrogena bath products [but never replaced the old tile floor]; nice new credenza for the TV [but an empty mini-closet for a fridge]). Still has window AC units, but they really keep the room cool. Beds were comfortable with new linens; a little soft for my taste, but certainly comfortable. The room overall was very tiny, but that is typical of a hotel that is over 100 years old - and after all, why do you need a lot of room when you're in Vegas? Bathroom also was tiny, but the shower stall was nice - tiled from floor to ceiling, good showerhead. Cannot beat the location, right at the end of Fremont Street. Best feature was the small size of the hotel overall: very easy to run in and drop something off in your room without having to navigate a hundred elevators and thousands of other guests. Security was present all night, which was good to see. Very friendly valet to park the cars, comp, right behind the hotel.
