“"Average" Stay during SuperBowl Weekend”

We stayed at Circus Circus February 02-04, over SuperBowl Weekend.

This hotel is just "average". We stayed in a room in the West Tower on the 34th floor. All rooms in the West Tower have been recently renovated. They did an "average" job on the renovations. Our room was comfortable enough, just a few minor things...none of which ruined the stay for us. 1) The TV they had was VERY small...maybe 19inches? And it had just a few channels to choose from. 2) The TV remote had no cover over the batteries! They were taped into the remote! Not a big deal...but why? 3) We were missing an alarm clock in the room! The stand for it was on the end table by the beds, but the clock itself was missing! Again...why? 4) The shower curtain was so close to the wall of the shower, I actually got a little claustrophobic when showering. And it was very dark in the shower, as well. Other than these minor things, the room really was just fine, especially since we were hardly in there anyways but to sleep and change.

Staff was friendly for the most part. There are several staff members standing throughout the hotel that would approach us, offering free show tickets, free steak dinner, etc. We declined each time, but it did become annoying because they were everywhere.

We had breakfast at the Garden Grill on Saturday morning. Food was average. Price was average. On Sunday morning, we just grabbed some coffee and doughnuts from the Krispy Kreme downstairs. Again...just average, nothing fancy.

Location was OK. It was a short walk away from the center of the strip, but we didn't mind. We got the daily pass for The Deuce, so if we didn't feel like walking, we just hopped on The Deuce, which stops right infront of Circus Circus. We even took The Deuce down to Freemont Street and back on Saturday evening.

All in all, we had an "average" stay at Circus Circus. We had an "average" stay in Vegas, as well. We've been many, many times and have stayed at several different hotels, both on and off the strip. Circus Circus really is just an average hotel. For the right price, I would stay here again. But that has to be a VERY low price! There are so many other nicer hotels to choose from.

**Just as an afterthought, I'd thought I'd mention that we have been to Vegas too many times to count...this being the first time over SuperBowl Weekend. We were told that it is the 2nd busiest weekend of the year in Vegas (next to New Years). We were prepared for tons of people. We didn't find that. We think we've seen it busier during the hot summer months! We were pleasantly surprised! Don't get me wrong...it was still busy with lots of people and lots of players, but just not as bad as we expected it to be. However...we did notice that the table limits were slightly higher, no matter what time of day.**

“loved this hotel”

Circus Circus Hotel & Casino Las Vegas

We were dreading staying at this hotel after reading the reviews. Having stayed earlier in the year at the luxor I felt the circus circus had more facilities on site and more entertainment for the children.

The staff were friendly the hotel was nice (admitidely not the best on the strip) but comfortable. The entertainment and dinning at this hotel is excellent and we are returning to this hotel again this year with 15 family members in Feb 2007 we enjoyed it that much.

“Worst hotel ever!!!!!!!!!!!”

Circus Circus Hotel & Casino Las Vegas

Feb 4, 2007

Worst hotel ever!!!!!!!!!!!
First impression as we walked in the hotel: Stained, dirty carpet. O.K., we can let that slide. We register and go to our Manor room. We walked into filth. The bed was a mess and there was trash all over the room. I called down to let the staff know about the situation. They offered to send someone to clean but I just wanted to leave because both of us were ready to throw-up. They sent us to another room where we were told security would be waiting to open our door. You would think that someone would have been embarrassed and would have taken care of this problem in a hurry. Instead it took three phone calls from the house phone and over a half hour wait before we were let in our room. Impressions as we walked to the fitness room: To call it a maze may be an understatement. O.K., we can let that slide. We could see down to the pools. Pristine, with clear blue water? More like mucky with a milky white consistency. At one point we were greeted by a few dead 1-inch cockroaches and the pleasant aroma of freshly spayed cockroach spray. In the fitness center the machine I wanted to use had its cable completely broken. The least they could have done was put an out of order sign on it. Other impressions: A struggle to get bath towels. Frustrated employees (the maid showed me her cart with no towels). Tons of rubbish outside the doors to the manors. Grimy elevators that scarcely worked. An incredible trek from the manors to the main building.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
If you decide to stay at this dump to save a few bucks, be prepared. Read the all the reviews and know that they are real. On the other hand, you might be one of the small minority that actually enjoys the stay.

We had one bad experience after another. The maid used our toilet (#2) and did not flush. As strange as it may sound, she also took a nap in our bed while we were out for the day. The front desk did not care at all. The towels were stained yellow and had a bad smell. We were there for five days and never had a clean smelling white towel. How would you like that after washing your hair???? The problems went on throughout the trip. It was not a very pleasant experience. I would have checked out the first day if I was not with a group of other people.

On the last day of the stay, I was missing two boxes and my coffee maker that I take with me. I asked the maid if she saw it and she insisted that she did'nt. I went down stairs to complain and of course they did not care. I went straight back up to my room and found what I was looking for outside my door. "And the maid said she did not take it". YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Circus Circus is just terrible and should not be in business.

Circus circus isn't a patch on the Bellagio or the Venetian or anything but it is still good and better value for money! The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Huge hotel of course and easy to get loss. Only problem we had was the gift shops etc don't open very early and they ALL close in the evening. Bit of a nuisance. Lots of hustle and bustle, it's like a small community. Not very relaxing and easy to feel lost but thats Vegas.
