We stayed at Circus Circus February 02-04, over SuperBowl Weekend.
This hotel is just "average". We stayed in a room in the West Tower on the 34th floor. All rooms in the West Tower have been recently renovated. They did an "average" job on the renovations. Our room was comfortable enough, just a few minor things...none of which ruined the stay for us. 1) The TV they had was VERY small...maybe 19inches? And it had just a few channels to choose from. 2) The TV remote had no cover over the batteries! They were taped into the remote! Not a big deal...but why? 3) We were missing an alarm clock in the room! The stand for it was on the end table by the beds, but the clock itself was missing! Again...why? 4) The shower curtain was so close to the wall of the shower, I actually got a little claustrophobic when showering. And it was very dark in the shower, as well. Other than these minor things, the room really was just fine, especially since we were hardly in there anyways but to sleep and change.
Staff was friendly for the most part. There are several staff members standing throughout the hotel that would approach us, offering free show tickets, free steak dinner, etc. We declined each time, but it did become annoying because they were everywhere.
We had breakfast at the Garden Grill on Saturday morning. Food was average. Price was average. On Sunday morning, we just grabbed some coffee and doughnuts from the Krispy Kreme downstairs. Again...just average, nothing fancy.
Location was OK. It was a short walk away from the center of the strip, but we didn't mind. We got the daily pass for The Deuce, so if we didn't feel like walking, we just hopped on The Deuce, which stops right infront of Circus Circus. We even took The Deuce down to Freemont Street and back on Saturday evening.
All in all, we had an "average" stay at Circus Circus. We had an "average" stay in Vegas, as well. We've been many, many times and have stayed at several different hotels, both on and off the strip. Circus Circus really is just an average hotel. For the right price, I would stay here again. But that has to be a VERY low price! There are so many other nicer hotels to choose from.
**Just as an afterthought, I'd thought I'd mention that we have been to Vegas too many times to count...this being the first time over SuperBowl Weekend. We were told that it is the 2nd busiest weekend of the year in Vegas (next to New Years). We were prepared for tons of people. We didn't find that. We think we've seen it busier during the hot summer months! We were pleasantly surprised! Don't get me wrong...it was still busy with lots of people and lots of players, but just not as bad as we expected it to be. However...we did notice that the table limits were slightly higher, no matter what time of day.**
