First off, Circus Circus is towards the end of the strip where the older hotels are. The area around the hotel consists mostly of buildings that are marked for demolition, so it is a fair distance to walk to further down the strip to some of the nicer casinos.
The food at most of the restaurants is overpriced and bland. We received a coupon for buy one/get one free at the buffet which made it a fair deal, but we would have been angry to have to pay full price. McDonald's was the best deal in the casino.
Our room was on the top floor of the West tower, which has been remodeled recently. There was miscellaneous items in some of the corners from previous occupants and the wall safe was a joke where you had to pay money every time that you needed to lock it. We could easily hear the activities of the occupants in the room next door.
The most annoying portion of the entire trip was that Circus Circus allows time-share sales people to harass their guests with four stations located throughout the hotel. It was common for us to have to brush off three sales people every time that we would leave our room, and some of them didn't simply take no for an answer.
We went during Halloween/SEMA, and their Frightdome was interesting, but not worth the 25 dollars per person that we paid.
