First off, Circus Circus is towards the end of the strip where the older hotels are. The area around the hotel consists mostly of buildings that are marked for demolition, so it is a fair distance to walk to further down the strip to some of the nicer casinos.

The food at most of the restaurants is overpriced and bland. We received a coupon for buy one/get one free at the buffet which made it a fair deal, but we would have been angry to have to pay full price. McDonald's was the best deal in the casino.

Our room was on the top floor of the West tower, which has been remodeled recently. There was miscellaneous items in some of the corners from previous occupants and the wall safe was a joke where you had to pay money every time that you needed to lock it. We could easily hear the activities of the occupants in the room next door.

The most annoying portion of the entire trip was that Circus Circus allows time-share sales people to harass their guests with four stations located throughout the hotel. It was common for us to have to brush off three sales people every time that we would leave our room, and some of them didn't simply take no for an answer.

We went during Halloween/SEMA, and their Frightdome was interesting, but not worth the 25 dollars per person that we paid.

  • Liked — Not much.
  • Disliked — Time-Share sales people

Dear god... the check in was like waiting in line at the carnival... 45 min, lines about 50 deep. We got stuck in their ghetto project housing... motel 6 type bunkers 1/2 mile from check in, with paper thin walls. Seriously low rent, swamped with complete families... typical 5-12 ppl per family all with screaming kids. If you value your sanity avoid this place like the plague.

  • Liked — Nothing, crack housing would be more fun

We stayed at the Manor rooms at Circus Circus for 4 nights and were very pleasantly surprised considering all the negative reviews.
We arrived in the early evening and check in was quick & efficient.
The Manor rooms are separate from the main hotel complex but there is a walkway inside that takes you almost all the way though it did take us a day or so to locate it!
The room was non-smoking and was very fresh and clean with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was spotless cleaned every day with fresh towels provided daily and the sheets were changed during our stay.
I can't really comment on the restaurants or the pool as we ate elsewhere and did not manage to have a swim but there was a good atmosphere at the hotel with the added attraction of free circus acts.
Check out again went very smoothly despite our doing our best to confuse the receptionist she kept her patience.
I also stayed for a night at the Luxor Hotel which was 5 times the price per night but did not compare.
We are from Ireland and I think that it would be very difficult to find a hotel room anywhere in Ireland for the equivalent of $40 per night and definitely not of this quality.

  • Liked — good value clean
  • Disliked — room separate form main hotel building

For every good report on here there must be 2 or 3 bad ones so I was slightly worried after booking at CC.
First impression was not good as queue for check-in was 30 minutes but they did find my booking immediately and asked me whether I wanted high or low rise room. They also advised me of $1 charge per day for telephone calls which I was aware of.
Room in Sky tower was of a good size although pretty dark even with all 3 lamps on, but bathroom was well lit and clean with a great hot shower.
Towels were changed daily as were soaps and shampoos etc.
No problem with using the safe even if it costs 50c per use.
We had been advised that there may be problems with the lifts but this was not the case as we had to wait only a minute or two at most for them to appear.
We ate at the Casino cafe (old Pink Pony?) - nice food,The Steak House - very nice but very dark in there and the famous buffet!- ok food but not worth $43+ (4 of us) so only used there if we could not be bothered going elswhere.
Circus acts were ok - it was free but did not last long ;10 mins at most per act - Clowns had their own show in the Adventure Dome - major dissapointment here as this was the only place we saw them throughout our week's stay. I would have thought that they would be out and about the hotel.
The website says that they have over 80 gaming tables - I don't know where they put them all!! Maybe we saw 20 or 30 but certainly not 80 and a lot of them were covered up most of the week.
Plenty of slots of course - every game you could think of.
Visited the Adventuredome with the kids - they enjoyed some of the rides but my daughter didn't want to go back on the Inverter - can't say I blame her it stops with you upside down at the top of the ride!!
When it came to checking out used the fast service using the remote and the TV - no problems and got a taxi from outside the hotel to the airport.
Overall opinion not bad for what we had paid. Certainly for a cheap base for a Vegas holiday it was ok.
Don't be put off by the bad reviews, If you want a top notch hotel you would not book here, but with kids it's ok and we would stay here again.
7/10

  • Liked — Great for family with kids
  • Disliked — Check in
  • Tips/Secrets: — Beer in the Adventuredome was cheaper than at the Casino Bars

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in April 2006. It was not expensive. We got more than we expected. A large room with anything we needed. And it was clean. The staff was friendly but they were very busy.

The hotel is very large. We could not find the reception anymore. After we had checked out we could not find our car too.

In the hotel we had a lot of fun. The circus was great, a lot of gambling machines and a lot of shops.

The food was okay. Not the best we had but for the price it was good. You can take what you want.

The next time we go to Vegas we probably will stay again in this hotel.
