“Great room, clean hotel, casino, pool is tops in Vegas”

Caesars Palace

We stayed in a Palace Tower room which is a deluxe room. It is the same price as Augustus tower which I think is slightly nicer deluxe room as the rooms are new versus renovated. We requested Augustus but it was not guaranteed and for Memorial Day weekend they were full. The Palace tower room was very modern, unbelievable bathroom and constant service going on in the rooms, always clean towels, trash removed chocolates, etc. The view from this room on the 24th floor was good view of strip and The Mirage. The great thing is the proximity to the pool. If you stay in Augustus tower you will have to walk through casino to get to the pool. There are 5 pools and they are all gorgeous. Outstanding service. We spent a lot of time at Bellagio hotel as well and we like Caesars a bit better as we are in our late 30's early 40's and there just isn't as much happening over there. Casino at both Caesars and Bellagio were much nicer to me than The Palms, Paris or Ballys. Venetian was comparable and also seemed like a nice hotel although I didn't see the rooms or pool. Highly recommend Caesars deluxe accomodations, I think the reviewers that are unhappy were in standard rooms.

Went to Las Vegas to see the UFC Championship fight and stayed at Caesars Palace for two nights. I had not been to Las Vegas before this and wasn't exactly sure what to expect. Here are my observations.

1) Vegas is not a family place. It is what it is. You go for the gambling, the shows, the partying. It is never someplace I would take my kids. I was surprised at the number of kids I saw.

2) Vegas is not cheap. Somehow my impression of Vegas before I went was that it wouldn't be overpriced. Food would be reasonable and rooms reasonable. Food is expensive. Breakfast onsite consists of a $10 muffin if you want quick and cheap. There are a couple of Denny/IHop type joints within walking distance but their prices are a little higher then the usual fare at home. All of which is fine, but I expected different. The rooms during the week are a little less about $180 a night and reasonable for the 'class' of room we stayed in. The same room went to $400 a night for the weekend. Definitely not cheap.

3) Caesars has a nice setup at their hotel. There is a shopping forum with any and every imaginable retailer located there. All pricey and most of us did alot of window shopping only. Their pools are very nice. One is 'european style' so be aware of that. They have cabanas (some air conditioned) and the usual bar/food available. Vegas is HOT. Most bathers were in the pool at 9 am and out by noon. Back in around 4 pm. Between 11 am and 4 pm most people were in an air conditioned building somewhere. Caesars also have very good bell hop and front desk setup. Well marked, and broken into various services: 1) key/mail, 2) check in, 3) check out, etc. Easy traffic flow.

4) There is a 'monorail' that runs along about 8 stops/casinos. It does not go to the airport, so you have to use a cab (about $13 one way), a shuttle (about $7 one way) or a car service (about $50 one way) for airport transfers. However, the monorail was a great option for us to get from Caesars (the stop is across from Caesars at the Flamingo) to the MGM Grand for the fight we saw. It was $5 a person and only a 5 minute ride. One more comment on the airport - it is only about a 10 minute cab ride away which is very convenient.

We ate at two onsite restaurants at Caesars: Spago and Mesa Grill. Both pricey. Spago was a waste of money. We had dinner there and it was very very noisy. You could not carry a conversation. The service was excellent but the food was lack luster. I had a salad and a salmon dish. The salmon was surprisingly salty. Anyway, we walked away feeling like we'd had a "olive garden chain" quality meal, at very high end prices. It wasn't that the food was awful, but with the atmosphere being bad and the food "ify" we weren't pleased. On the other hand, Mesa Grill was awesome. We had lunch there. Atmosphere is much better. We had a pleasant time talking. The service was excellent and the food awesome. By far the best meal I have had in a long time. I had a corn/tomatoe soup and a spicy scrambled egg dish. Unusual and very worth it. We felt it was worth every penny we paid.

Caesars has all the gambling you'd expect. Every conceivable game. The hotel and all its various areas were very clean and nice. It is glitzy but you expect that in Vegas. The bathrooms were clean too.

I have no inclination to visit Vegas again but that is mostly because gambling is not my thing. It is VERY HOT there too. It wasn't that my experience was bad, it is just that Vegas is not my cup of tea so to speak. But if it is yours, then I could easily recommend Caesars Palace.

Best place to stay in Vegas, at least, for the right rate. Caesar's is located right in the middle of the action on the Vegas strip. We payed just $165 per night incl. taxes for our king-size bed room. The room was a simple and standard, but yet very comfortable, clean and spacious 5-star hotel room.

The hotel pools are great, the parking free, the service excellent and the rest of the hotel astonishing. I might have liked the Venetian or the Bellagio just as much or better, but they simply could not beat the rates that Caesar's charged for the room.

Will definitely pick Caesars again on my next stay in Vegas.

After having read negative reviews about Caesars I feel that I must add my own contribution from a British point of view. I have recently returned from a fabulous week staying there and can't find anything what-so-ever to complain about. If you have stayed here and have been disappointed with the standard of the hotel, then please don't ever come to the U.K. as you will be horrified with the standard of the hotels here compared to the Caesars (in a nutshell, there is nothing here that can compare!)!
My friend and I arrived at around 1:30pm, tired after having had an 11 hour flight. The line for check in seemed long but only took around 15 minutes. We had booked a basic room and were offered a room upgrade for $120 per night, we declined and the price was reduced to $80 per night, which we gladly accepted. Our upgrade was for a room in the Augustus Tower with what I can only describe as the best views on the strip! It overlooked the southern end of the strip and the Bellagio fountains, wowww! (Worth the $80 per night for the view alone). Our spotlessly clean, immaculately presented room had 2 super comfy queen size beds, large jacuzzi tub, settee, small dining area, 2 plasma TV's (one in the bathroom) and Caesars Palace robes)! There is no refrigerator in the room but I read that one would be made available if required (although I didn't do this). Bar prices in the room are $4 each for soft drinks and water and $6 for a beer, Room service is very swift and I thought reasonably priced compared with British hotels of a much less standard. One night we were sent the wrong order, we were promptly sent our correct one free of charge and even had a telephone call from the restaurant manager to apologise for the inconvenience, now that's what I call service!
The hotel itself is huge (about the size as the village I live in)! The pool complex is magnificent, if you wish to go in the adult area remember to take ID, my friend was declined admittance as she didn't have hers with her, shes 41! The overall feeling of the hotel is one of grandeur, right from the lobby all the way through to the Forum shops (upgrade your credit card if shopping here)!
We mainly ate in the Cafe Lago which is situated close to the pool entrance. The buffet meals there are excellent, $15 for breakfast which consists of just about every breakfast food you can imagine, the freshy squeezed orange juice is to die for! We had the breakfast buffet ($15.50) one morning at the Bellagio and neither my friend or I thought the food or the service could compare with Caesars.
The hotel is situated in prime position mid strip (next door to the Bellagio and across the road from Paris). The strip itself is huge, make sure to take comfortable shoes and plenty of elastoplast! My friend and I weren't daunted by this, no cabs/buses/monorail for us, we walked everywhere, mainly to enjoy the sunshine as it was far too hot to lie in (late 90's). We tried to see as many attractions as we possibly could in the week we were there, I particulary enjoyed stroking the stingrays and small sharks in the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bar ($14.95 entrance fee). Look out for the ticket booths located up and down the strip, they have fantastic deals on most shows and attractions, ie: we paid $24 each for entrance into the Titanic exhibition, we could have bought them at these booths for $11 each! Also, look though the brochures that are in left in your room, they have great 2 for 1 show offers and a few $'s off some of the attractions.
For me, my favourite attractions were the one's that were free! I just loved the Bellagio fountains and could have stayed there all day watching them. The light shows at Fremont Street are another must see, they are amazing! A cab will cost around $15 each way but it is well worth it, the drinks here are less than half of the price of what you will pay on the strip.
The airport is situated only a few miles away from the strip so if travelling from the UK don't be fooled into booking an expensive package holiday. You will get (like I did) a much better deal booking a flight and the hotel separately. I searched the net for months trying to find the best deals and I found that the best rate was directly with the hotel.
I would like to thank all the staff at Caesars for making our stay such a memorable one. A big thank you also goes to all the Americans we met, you guys are just so friendly! :)

“Better hotel rooms for price in same area”

Caesars Palace

***My rating is based on price and class of hotel as compared to similar class hotels i have stayed at in las vegas***

I think everyones expectations ofs Ceasars Palace is very high, especially given the casino and adjacent mall. Well the rooms are only OK. Marble showers are nice but the rooms are small and just another hotel room.

Lovely pool and the restaruants are great. Maybe a lil over priced in my opinion but not more so than you find at Venetian.

Casino is marvelous and sports book is the best. Great casino to people watch but at the end of the day, how much time do you spend in the hotel room itself. For the price one can do better elsewhere in same area.
