I had taken an early flight and arrived at Caesars at 10:30am. I was somewhat concerned because I knew that check-in was at 3:00pm. There were perhaps a half dozen folks also attempting to check-in early.
The woman at the front desk was very friendly and accomodating. She was able to find me a room (and EVEN upgraded it at no cost). I was in the Palace Tower right near the pool. This was perhaps the easiest tower to get to. You must walk through the rather smokey casino to get to the elevator.
I was on the 20th floor and my room faced the Strip towards the right and mountains to the left. Wow! The room was huge. The furniture was modern, but simple. The king bed had very comfortable sheets, pillows and comforter..lots of huge pillows. The matress was firm, but not too hard. The air conditioner system worked flawlessly. The thermostat is on the wall, my room was hot when I arrived so I cooled it down to 70 and it only took about 15 minutes to achieve this.
The bathroom was about the size of my living room.
A stall shower, two sinks and a sunkin jacuzzi. I had no idea where the toilet was. Aha, it was behind the door and included a phone. The tv was flat screen and received an impressive amount of channels.
A robe was included in the closet. The toiletries had a tangy, orange scent. I loved the lotion.
There was an ipod docking unit/radio, but the docking did not work and the radio only picked up a few stations. High speed internet cost $14.95 per 24 hour. At times the internet was quite slow.
The room was incredibly quiet. I never heard a door slam or noise from another room.
It was very clean. My only objection was the maid walking into my room at 9:00am and didn't even knock. I guess she must have assumed that I was still out partying/gambling. You can check the cost you have accrued to your room on the hotel's tv channel. In addition, you can check out after 6:00am utilizing the hotel tv channel.
The casino is large and perhaps one of the more sought out on the strip. I have heard that many people come over to Caesars to play the slots and cards. The casino floor went on and on and on. Unlike Atlantic City (which has smoking sections), smoking is everywhere! Even if you just walk through the casinos on your way to somewhere else, you are bound to get smoke blown in your face.
After you leave the casino you are immersed in a huge shopping area with some of the most upscale shoppes in Vegas. The stores go on and on and you can get lost trying to navigate from one side to the other. The price of a Coach purse actually was higher then it would have been at Macy's, but I'll always remember where I bought it. The ceiling is a distinct blue and the area is very posh and made to look like a Roman street.
Caesars is one of the largest hotels and it takes about 2 days to figure out how to get from point A to point B. There is a LOT of walking involved. Some times I found it easier to exit and walk outside then maneuver the massive maze.
The Coliseam is the theatre where the top stars like: Cher and Bette Midler play. I saw Bette and had wonderful seats and she put on an impressive show.
The pool is waist deep(so don't expect to be able to swim). It is a large circle surrounded by fountains and sculptures of caesar. There is contruction going on near the pool (a new tower is being added). The music at the pool was so loud, it drowned out any of the construction noise.
There were many young people when I was there in the pool and nearly all had drinks in their hands. It was hot and the pool was crowded. If you want to get some exercise, you can actually walk around the pool a few times.
You have to get down early because the lounge chairs get filled up quickly. I tried to get my space staked out between 930-1030am. Those who came in the area after 1100 did not have much luck finding a place to lounge. There is also a "European" pool located just outside of the doors.
This is an adult-only pool area and the women can go topless.
The waitress/bar staff at the pool are agonizingly slow. I ordered a drink and it arrived about 45 mins. later. It just appears that they do not have the adequate amount of staff to services a large crowd.
I treated myself to a massage near the pool (in the shade) for $50 for a half hour. The masseuse was fantastic and very friendly.
The pool store is very overprised. Unless you want to pay $12-$15 for suntan lotion (bring your lotion from home). Soda's cost over $2.00 a bottle and snacks range from $2.00-$4.00.
There are loads of restaraunts, but they are quite expensive. I ate one large meal at the Japanese restaraunt (which I was told had among the best sushi in Vegas). The sushi was by far among the best I have ever had, fresh and tasteful. The cost was $25.00 for two rolls.
One word to describe the Caesars staff--Accomodating.
The cost of the stay was well worth it.

Before arriving for a 3 night stay, I found a tip online about how to get a free upgrade from the Roman Towers which is where my reservation was booked for $81 a night with the AAA discount. At check-in you simply fold a $20 bill with your ID and Credit card and ask if there are any complimentary upgrades.. It worked like a charm! Got upgraded to the Palace Tower with Queen sized beds and Jacuuzzi!.. Best $20 you will ever gamble in Vegas! There is nothing about this hotel that is not 1st class. I've stayed at the Bargain hotels ( Flamingo, Riviera,..ect.) This time decided to pay a little extra, and it was WELL worth it.. you will be proud to say you are staying at Fabulous Ceasars Palace! And you can always walk across the street to gamle at Harrahs or Flamingo for the lower table minimums. All employees are friendly and helpful... and the Pool area is unbelievably nice.. When you sign up for a players card they will give you a $20 voucher for the buffet which is pretty good for breakfast.

Went for a bachelor party and while the hotel is good - it's far too big - takes ages to get from room to casino floor or exit or pool.

The crowd is totally universal - families, old people, party people so it's a bit of mish mash.

We got an upgrade and the room was HUGE but this hotel is not for 20 somethings.

Still a good hotel though.

I went w/ family from Miami -only been to Vegas twice and we enjoyed Caesars Palace that we (Girl Friend) and I will be staying there at the end of this month. You hear so much negivatve reviews, I truly think if you plan on having a good time you will, if not you wont-so the key is go to Vegas and just have a good time -Caesars is the best place to stay for the shopping extravaganga, if you are not a gambler- and the Food is great too!!!
