“Terrible experience”

Caesars Palace Classic Hotel

I stayed trhee nights in June 2008 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. We were in the Centurion Tower. The room was simply terrible like a room of Motel 6: furnitures of the '80s. The room was not very clen especially the bathrooom. There was a lot of noise from other rooms. Staff not very friendly at both reception and Valet Parking. For the price that you pay at the Caesars Palace is better to add something and book at the Bellaggio or Venetian. Never again! The only postive thing is the Forums shops: they are simply fantastic!

“Large Quiet Clean Rooms - Great Staff”

We just returned from four nights at Caesars Palace. I strongly recommend the Deluxe Palace Tower rooms - especially on the higher floors. I was really impressed with how quiet the room was - housekeeping was very helpful when needed. I found every staff member to be friendly . Check-in took an unusually long time, but when I didn't complain (and took pity on the staff member) he offered me a free upgrade. He also fixed the reservation to make sure my friend who was arriving later, had an adjoining room to mine.
Yes, the food is expensive, and I recommend the cafe at Spago. We went for Bette Midler, Penn and Teller and Cirque and had a great time.
I won't return to Vegas, because it's really just a lot of hotels very close together in a dusty, hot, and, sorry Vegas, ugly town.

“Gelato Cafe in Caesar's Forum shops”

The Gelato Cafe in the Forum shops is the biggest rip off. I have traveled all over the world and the U.S.A. and expect to pay more at tourist places. But this place is set up so the gelato is on the outside counter with cup sizes displayed.. I chose the regular which was shown as the smallest. You go to the inside counter to pay and for a 3-4 oz cup it was $12.99. There was a small listed on their price list by the register, but they do not show that cup size near the gelato. Just want people to be warned-go to the register first to look at prices and don't be drawn to the gelato first

“Warning....”

Caesars Palace Classic Hotel

I booked 2 Augustus tower rooms, 3 nights for the in-laws 50th anniversary. I was never told of the construction (new wing) when booking through the hotel directly and was sorely disappointed when I stepped out to the pool to find the noise deafening- saws, hammers, welders. We came for a relaxing time by the pool and what we found was complete annoyance from beginning to end. I did ask for a Bellagio fountain view...and got it, yet was not told I'd also be staring into 14 building cranes for City Center. Also, the hotel did nothing for the 50th anniversary. The in-laws were not impressed to say the least. I was ashamed to have brought them there. We should have checked out after day 1, but they didn’t want to repack and move.
The pool itself had opaque water, a greasy film floating on it and cigarette butts littered around. You must pay for drinking water (in 115 heat you'd think they'd give you water to keep you from passing out), and pay for a pool float if you want it. If you want shade, you best be the first at the pool or pay some more money to get some. The pool closes at 7pm…. It's 105 at night, the sun sets at 8 and they close the pool at 7? What's up with that? I had to hunt long and hard for lounge chairs (on a weekday) and due to construction there was a lot less room (I was told) so the lounges don't have an inch between them. There was a sticky mess below the lounge I did find one day- no wonder no one took it. And I ended up with a case of athletes foot.....bring some flip-flops and don't take them off! Better yet, don't go. And the 7 month pregnant waitress in a bikini didn’t help the ambience either.
I drove in on a Sunday, mid afternoon, and the valet sign said it was full...unload and go park it yourself. Yet it seemed empty. It was hit and miss whether or not the valet would take your car for the 3 days we were there.
Some of the room decor did seem new and updated but one wooden chair looked like it came from the swap meet... it was so banged up and abused. Several light bulbs were burnt out, the towels were better at a Holiday Inn Express we stayed at, and the toilet ran all the time. I did complain about the pool noise and lack of notice and was told 'too bad, nothing we can do about it".
On the upside the beds were comfortable and the AC worked well.
I've stayed at the Venetian and it's, by far, light years ahead in service and quality.

First of all, this hotel is beautiful. We booked our room through the hotel website. We requested a room in the Augustus Tower with a view of the strip. We were even allowed to check in early at 10 am. The room was spacious; the bathroon was gorgeous. Que Spa was unbelievable. I can't say enough great things about this hotel.
