My husband and I stayed at the Bellagio for 2 nights from Feb 23-25th, 2007. Neither of us have been to Vegas and wanted to have a romantic weekend. The Bellagio was excellent.
We never had to endure the long lines at the check in and out desks, we checked in early and didn't have the same problem of waiting in line like others we saw. If you are impatient like us, plan ahead with an early check in. Leave your bags with the Bell hop and tour around until you are ready for your room.
Of course it is pricey!!! If you are trying to save a buck, eat, drink and gamble somewhere else, hell, stay somewhere else. But if you want that extra special something, the Bellagio is both romantic and elegant.
We had a deluxe lake view room and I will never stay in anything less if I return. The fountains are amazing! Worth the extra money. The room was alright, nothing out of this world. It seemed to have poor lighting and not much in the way of drop your jaw, jump up and down excitement.
The bathroom was nice, again nothing you will write home about. But definately nicer than most hotels. There is a large stand in shower and big soaker tub. Great for the romance, if that is what you are looking for. Or perhaps to soak your aching feet in at the end of the day. This is Vegas, your feet WILL be aching.
We are big gamblers so spent most of our time in the casino and the Bellagio Casino had the best staff and service of any of the casinos we visited. A dealer on Let it ride named Jacqueline was awesome, she kept us smiling and was so much fun, I will return to see her again. The casinois great, not as many table games as you might think, mostly blackjack. I don't know who these people are who say the casino is smokey or crowded or noisy...ummmmmm it is a casino! If you don't like casinos, maybe Vegas isn't the vacation spot you are looking for. Sorry, but as a non-smoking gambler, I can tell you that the Bellagio was the nicest Casino we have seen in Vegas.
We will be back in Vegas soon and we may choose to stay somewhere else to try other huge Vegas hotels, but if we are there for romance.....it will always be the Bellagio.

We do not usually spend alot of money for hotel rooms but decided to splurge a little to celebrate my father in-law's retirement. The place is just lovely considering it is a casino hotel. Everything is grand. I was quite happy with the room and large bathroom. We stayed in a room on the 16th floor facing the Bellagio fountains. Directly across was the Paris Eiffel Tower. It was an absolute treat to see the daily fountain shows right from our room. I was amazed by how well the rooms kept out noise. You cannot hear any street noise or music from the fountain shows. One of the TV channels plays the music so you can enjoy the shows from your room. Though the Spa at the Bellagio was very nice, I thought that it was too pricey. We paid $280 for a couples massage (50 min), which is almost twice as much as we normally pay for 60 minutes. I understand that we were also able to enjoy the spa facilities as part of the service, but I thought it cost much more than it should have. I would like to come back again.

Thanks again to Tripadvisor for tips about Bellagio. We were three 50 year old former college roomies looking for a relaxing /fun for old ladies Las Vegas trip. We arrived at 11:30 AM and were able to check in early. We had prepaid through Expedia because we had our hearts set on this particular hotel and room prices were skyrocketing on other sites and Bellagio's own site as well. I called the day before arrival to make sure our res was secure. I suggest everybody do this as there was a little glitch which we were able to iron out before arrival. There were huge swarms of people checking out when we arrived and the lobby was very chaotic however we were directed to a very nice/very helpful young woman who thanked us for our patience and gave us a wonderful room overlooking the pools on the 25th floor.

We had to carry our own luggage which seemed very odd at such a luxury hotel (bell service was very backed up with check outs) but we were in the room by noon (check in is 4pm) so we considered ourselves lucky. We had 2 queen beds which were very comfortable. The bathroom was huge (only one sink though) with lovely marble and separate glassed in shower.

On close inspection you could see lots of wear and tear on the room, stains on the carpet etc but the first impression was lovely.

Bellagio offers no coffee service in the rooms which I find annoying but because of a tripadvisor tip we knew to go to Palios restaurant and ask for the $6 travel mug which is not advertised anywhere so you must inquire. The cardboard cups of coffee are $5 but if you ask for the travel mug for $6 you can refill it all day, everyday of your stay at no additional charge. Also, when the line for coffee was 20 people deep it was wonderful to just walk in the the shop and fill up the mugs. Trust me there are not many bargains at the B!!

There is one tip we would like to pass on to Las Vegas novices like ourselves - even if you only gamble a little do sign up for the players club card while you are there - we got "comped" some meals and drinks during our stay and before we checked out we went to the player's club desk and they looked over our playing (Big Brother is watching for sure) and we got a nice reduction off our room charges. No idea how they compute the "comp" but it was well worth stopping by the club desk before final check out. So don't feel like you have to be a "high roller" to get in on the comp thing.

For beautiful surroundings, professional service and fine dining you just can't beat the Bellaio. We'll be back!!

A huge hotel with every single type of option youy expect in Vegas.Very crowded because it is inmense, lots of rooms and lots of people visiting. Luxurious , maybe with not the best look and feel, but you should not de dissappointed it is the general rule in Vegas.
Great for gamblers, for location, for shopping, for numerous dining options-, not so great rooms, although they are big. Poor service in particular check in and out. Dissapointing buffet, especially after all the good things I read about it. Not very pleasant views unless you overlook the hotels dancing fountains, which you can freely enjoy if you stay anywhere and visit the area.
The hotel has two towers keep away of the Spa tower since you will have to walk a lot more than you can imagine to go nearly everywhere. Regarding price: book in advance and search for special offers. Although I recommend this hotel , next time I will go to the Wynn Hotel , which I visited during my stay.

We went to Vegas to celebrate my hubby's 60th birthday, so decided to splurge and stay at the "famous" Bellagio for a treat. What a disappointment it was. It is, I understand from other TripAdvisor reviews, a shadow of its former self but we thought we'd give it a try because it has such a reputation.

When we checked in we were told that they were nearly sold out -- translated, "you're lucky to have a room", even though we booked 6 weeks ahead of time. Our room was dark (we found out the last morning that a whole bank of lights was burned out, which was very obvious and should have been fixed before the next guest checked in), and was so unclean that we had to call housekeeping to clean it. We've stayed in hotels of all descriptions from India, South Africa and South America, so we're not overly picky on the cleanliness scale. It takes alot to make us call the housekeepers. It almost felt like the room had been half-cleaned and things were missing in it -- like having just one bathrobe, for example. The sunset through the smudged and fingerprinted window was not very romantic.

Naturally, we couldn't get the lake view room because of how full they were, another disappointment.

The furnishings were okay, but sparsh and dated, even though I understand that it was recently redone. When it stopped being a Steve Wynn property apparently a lot has changed. The photos on the website didn't match at all what the room actually looks like. And for a hotel that's supposed to be a five star, the Holiday Inn-like foam, standard size pillows on the bed are, in our book, unacceptable.

And you can forget about getting anyone at the front reception or the concierge desk; the line is almost always busy and they put you on hold.

What disturbed us even more was the fact that staying here gets you no additional privileges or special treatment at the hotel, which is astonishing considering the prices they charge. As soon as you step out of your room you join the hordes of people trapsing around the hotel and you might as well be staying across the street. No special access is granted to hotel guests for parking, shows, seats at the restaurants or the lounges. We were even accosted by a parking attendent barking at us that we were in the "wrong lane" when we pulled up to the valet and had to queue up with the masses to wait our turn. Only the pool area attendent asks for a key. I kept thinking, what's the point in staying here? I assumed that we'd get special treatment or preference being hotel guests, as is the case in many hotels now of its "class", but that's not the case with Bellagio.

My advice is: Stay in another property that has nicer amenities, rooms, and service. Go to Bellagio to enjoy it like the rest of the masses. Mandalay Bay is a top choice for us, with much nicer rooms, views, and service.

And see Mamma Mia if you can, and dine at Rosemary's off-strip on West Sahara; it's divine!
