For our family vacation we decided to fly into Las Vegas and stay one night at the Bellagio before heading to southern california to see relatives. We arrived around 5pm; parking was easy. Check-in went smoothly. Nicely appointed room, view was nice, even though not of the fountains. Comfortable beds, best linen I've seen yet at a hotel. Their were only two pieces of chocolate for us but there was four of us staying in the room with two queen size beds. I stepped into the hallway and saw a very nice and friendly housekeeper next door, I asked her if I could please have two more pieces of chocolate for my kids and she gave me a handful to take with me. I said thank you very much and gave her two dollar tip for her friendly and accommodating service. When we returned back to the room after dinner their must of been two pounds of chocolates in a plastic bag waiting for us. We ate dinner at the 24hr cafe, not impressed but average. When I usually stay in a hotel I don't judge it by it's food, amemities, pools, etc., but by the room that I am staying in. The bathroom was gorgeous; the best I've ever since. I was more impressed with the shower than the tub, maybe since I'm not tub person. I forgot to mention that at check-in I asked if I could have late check out and they agreed till 2pm which was fine with me. We took advantage of the pool even though it was slightly cool weather but coming from upstate NY it felt warm enough for us. The pool was beatiful. They each gave us two very plush pool towels to use. This was the first time I've seen lounge chairs by the pool have a flag tag for service when you need something. You just raise the little white flag that indicates service needed and someone comes. I never used it since the pool area wasn't crowded this time of year. Great hotel if you like vegas, but not family oriented. The kids prefered their stay at the MGM Grand later that week when we returned to vegas from so. cal. visit to fly home from. I will post a review of the MGM Grand soon. But my final impression of the Bellagio that I could tell from such a short visit was that it is worth every cent if you're an adult not traveling with kids, and it's not for the twentysomething crowed looking to drink and get wild, it is a place to relax and get pampered.
