I got married at the South Chapel in the Bellagio Hotel on December 21, 2004. The wedding was absolutely perfect. All I had to do was show up and say "I do." Monica, the wedding coordinator at the hotel was amazing. We talked several times on the telephone before I ever got to Las Vegas. She made sure that everything was to our liking. I couldn't have pictured a more perfect, romantic, intimate wedding. The hotel itself was incredible. My husband and I fell in love with the rooms. We had a room facing the fountains and we feel that it was well worth the extra money. The wedding party had fantastic rooms and they were very satisfied with the rooms too. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in and the bathroom was amazing. The spa was newly renovated and I had the luxury to get my nails and hair done before the wedding. The staff was very professional and did a great job! My husband and I received a couples message and it was very relaxing. It was the best message that I have ever received. The only regret that I have is that we had to leave. My husband and I did not want to go back to reality. We plan on going back in December to celebrate our one year anniversary.

If you like being in the middle of thousands of people on the go, and love long lines so you can gape at all of the other people in the long lines .. stay here .. yes, the room with the fountain view is gorgeous, and the bathrooms are very nice .. but if you've stayed at anything other than a red roof inn, you expect that when you're paying a premium price. unfortunately, when you pay that price, you're also expecting service and convenience .. not constant 45 minute waits for coffee or food or taxis or bellman or check-in .. You see, unless you're a medium to high roller (they wont even take your payers card to rate you if youre not on 25 or 50 dollar tables), there is no priority given to paying guests .. You wait in the same interminable lines that "visitors" wait in to eat in the cafe, buffet or other normal fare restaurants. Concierge ?? expect a minimum 20 minute hold ..
The lobbies are beautiful, gardens gorgeous (but pls wait for the "visitors" to take one more picture before you walk in front of them), and elevators quickly convenient to the action .. but the frustration of waiting definitely takes the edge off a nice place .. it smells to me like a management staffing and attitude problem .. i wonder if it was like this before MGM took over ??

Myself and my girlfriend spent 3 nights in Bellagio Hotel in January 2005. There are many check-in counters and we waited for around 10 minutes and we were greeted by a very courteous staff.

We booked a standard room but were offered upgrade to a lakeview room (for free). We had been given 2 sets of keys for our room.

To get to our room, we had to walk through the casino - it was not easy to find but we had been given a map as well as good instructions from the staff so we had no problem to reach to the guest lifts.

There is a security staff standing outside the lifts 24 hours to check for room key before you are allow to go into the lift. Next to the lift - there are a key drop box and a letter box which we found them very useful.

The express lift took us straight to level 23 with no wait. It even played music just in case you get bored with your lift journey. We were greeted by the cleaning staff on our way to the room !

Our room faced right in the middle of the lake and fountain and opposite paris with a good view of the strip. It was at that moment that I realise why they charged $100+ extra per night for lakeview room - Trust me its worth !

The room is classy and clean. Very tasefully decorated. The curtain is electronic. The TV has numerous channels (including asian channels). It also has a music channel that related to the fountain show.

The bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in... and the pillow too ! It was so comfortable that getting out of bed was a painful exercise.

The room also has a key-locked electronic fridge and a key-locked safe.

The bathroom is clean and modern. With a huge sink, bath tub and shower. It also comes with shower gels, bath gels, sewer kits, mouth freasher, shampoo and conditioners. Numerous towels, dryers and even a electronic weight scale. The water pressure was great and you can have as much hot water as you like.

Airconditioning was controlled by a switch which allows you to change temperature and fan speed.

Check-Out was easy - Switch on the TV, Click Check-Out and 3 seconds later you are done !

** The Casino **

The casino is beautiful. Although the slot machines are a bit tight - but it feels comfortable to stay here and play. Table-games are great - not too many people but it does has a high minimum.

** The Restaurant **

We tried the buffet and it was excellent. It has a variety of food ranging from Alaska Crabs to Boar Meat and Sushi. You also have unlimited drinks and you can play keno while you eat.

**** HINTS ****
1. Try to check in early or late - avoid checking in between 1pm and 4pm when everyone is doing the same thing.

2. Tip the check-in staff before you tell him/her your name ! If you are lucky, you may get a free upgrade.

3. If you arent lucky enough to get a free upgrade because the hotel is quite full, try and get a fountain view room (even if you have to pay extra $) - its definitely worth it. The show is different everytime and everytime is a different experience. You can watch the show 10 times without getting bored and if each show cost $10 each - you already saved yourself $200+

4. Go to the buffet early, there is no time limit and if you go there during bunch- you can stay for dinner as well and you will beat the queue.

5. Watch the O show, its expensive but its worthwhile. You can get good seat well in advance by booking online and you know exactly where you will be seating. (save yourself tippings). go to the bellagio website

6. For cheap eats and eating in odd hours, walk towards Monte Carlo near Broadwalk there is 24 hour buffet at around $6.00 and also there are hotdogs and burgers for cheap price.

7. For excursion tours e.g. to Grand Canyon, dont book it at the hotel, book it on internet - all tours are the same and it save you $$

8. The fridge is extremely sensitive - dont touch it unless you want to pay for the stuff inside.

9. If you are after casino experience (i.e. dont mind losing but just for fun) then bellagio casino is the best. If you are after winning (i.e. dont mind heavy black smoke and dirty machines), then head downtown.

+++ Overall Comments +++

Bellagio looks small in Vegas Standard but it's a truely 5 stars hotel. It offers 5 stars standard with the price of a 4 stars hotel. If you think you will only visit Vegas once in your lifetime and you can afford it, Bellagio is the hotel for you.

My partner and I stayed at the Bellagio from 6th-10th February 2005. We arrived on the 6th having booked a partial view lake view Bellagio Suite. On arrival around 1400, we were told that the room would not be ready until 1500 and to come back.

We had a drink at the Fontana Bar, the barman was not over-friendly. Not a great start to a trip we had been looking forward to for a few months.

At 1500, the room was still not ready and I asked to speak to a Manager. We were at 1530 placed into Bellagio Suite 30626 in the new Spa Tower. On entering the room, we found some the room had not been fully made up, with cushions and linen across the floor. The Housekeeping Supervisor arrived and apologised and explained the front-desk should not have allowed us to enter the room!! - they removed the items concerned and all was good.

Bellagio Suite 30626 is a beautiful suite, very spacious and I could not find fault with the room at all. To be honest our suite was suppose to provide a partial view of the fountains, but the view from our suite gave a full view, so its worth paying the extra for a room that might be advertised as providing a full view.

During our stay, we found the staff to be not over-friendly, we felt more like a number than a guest and the service was very mixed at times. Not what I expected at all.

We ate out mostly, though did have 1 breakfast, 1 lunch and 1 dinner in the buffet restaurant. The service in here was nothing special. The food choice was good but nothing special, the same items during our visitsa appeared both at lunch and dinner which was somewhat disappointing.

The Aladdin offers much better breakfast buffet, so this is worth checking out.

On chekcing out, we found the maid had used our telephone to make 12 local calls, which the hotel removed from the bill without a fuss, but for some reason we were charged $168 for items we had not used in the mini-bar, having taken great care not to knock or take anything we did not want from the highly sensitive minibars. The hotel had to send an attendant to the room to check we had not used the items, before they would close down the account!!

I wasn't very impressed with this distinct lack of trust.

The hotel is beautiful no mistake, but the service I feel lets the hotel down. I would return, but would probably try out the Venetian next time.
