Just returned from a 7 night stay at the Bellagio. We were booked into the new Spa Tower (24th floor) and the room was fantastic. View of the fountain show was very good, despite the description that it's a "partial" lake view. Channel 31 allowed you to listen to the fountain show music. Nice thing about the Spa Tower is that you don't have to walk through the casino to gain access to guest elevators. The walk from the lobby is not any longer compared to the main building but is more pleasant as you go by the new Spa and Salon, boutiques, the patisserie and along the corner, the new Sensi restaurant. You also get a nice view of the pool area.
The furnishings and amenities at Bellagio were great. Turn-down service was a nice touch and the maid service was excellent. Each room has a convenient and easy to use safe. Two robes were waiting for us when we checked in but no slippers to be found. Had to call to get them delivered to us. Toiletries and towels were plentiful and plush. My gal also loved the hairblower so much that we bought one at Tutto, the main Bellagio gift store ($40).
The bathroom at the new Spa Tower has double sink vanity (as opposed to only one sink in the main building for deluxe rooms). If this is important, you might want to try the new Spa Tower. We also visited friends in the main building (Lakeview room) and it seemed that our bathroom was a bit bigger. The fountain view in the Lakeview room was better though.
All of the restaurants at the Bellagio are fantastic. Had dinner at Prime & FIX, breakfast and lunch at Cafe Bellagio, dinner at Belagio Buffet and snacks all over the hotel and casino. Favorite place to get coffee and pastries was at the JP Patisserie in the new Spa Tower extension. Long line-ups every morning however. Could not get reservations at Picasso during our stay. Le Cirque and Circo's menus looked good also. For seafood, Michael Mina (formerly Aqua) is outstanding.
For entertainment, we saw "O" and it was phenomenal. Best show I have ever seen period! If you are a guest at Bellagio, you get preferential seating in either section 102 or 103. The tickets are $150 per person in these sections but are well worth the money. Forget about going cheap and getting nosebleed seats (the "O" theatre is huge). Get the best seats available as this will significantly enhance your experience.
Room service at Bellagio was quick and delicious and surprisingly, was moderately priced. Treat yourself to this experience at least once if you are staying at Bellagio.
I found customer service to be excellent for such a large hotel. Everytime we called to ask for something, they would always address you by name Mr. Smith, or Ms. Jones, etc. And they did make an effort to make you feel welcome. During peak periods, getting the front desk or concierge to answer a question could take some time however.
The Casino is very elegant and has "muted" slots which is a nice feature (some casinos in Vegas can be very loud). Table game minimums are higher than average though (blackjack tables are usually $10 on weekdays and go up to $25 on weekends). Slot machines were not as tight as some have suggested. In my mind, slot machines are tight everywhere now. Drink service at the table games is good and the waitresses are elegantly attired and very personable. However, I found drink service in the slot areas to be spotty.
I definitely would return to the Bellagio on my next visit to Vegas. We lucked out with a great deal via Expedia. We will keep checking online to see if they have any promotional specials as rooms can be very expensive at Bellagio during peak periods. Partial Lakeview rooms in the new Spa Tower can go as high as $450 a night (we got it at $189 a night). It's best to book ahead if you can.
