Although the accommodation was acceptable, it seemed to fall far below that of a superior hotel. Not sure how the rating system functions in the US, but this wasn't the five star experience one could expect. Lightbulbs missing - stains on the carpet and no jaccuzzi tub, only a soaker. No complimentary gym time and no "personal touches." Less expenditure on flashy architecture and more on quality service would have been a better way to go.
The check in experience was daunting. I have stayed at many 5 star hotels around the world, and have yet to meet a colder and more unhelpful reception. The supercilious young man at check-in virtually threatened us with the fact that the goods available in the room were "weight sensored" - and would be charged to our room if the sensor indicated one had been moved! If I want a candy bar at midnight, I 'm quite prepared to pay for it - I don't need to be treated like a potential thief and warned about attempting to pilfer the peanuts!
The baggage handling was well done, and the majority of staff were pleasant and helpful - just get rid of the prison guard check in staff!

Recently stayed at the Bellagio for the 1st time (usually stay at the Wynn) I was interested to compare the two hotels & since people often ask about the pros & cons of Bellagio V's Wynn I will make some comparisons throughout the review.
We stayed one night at the Bellagio before a 5 night stay at the Wynn.
Check in:
Same 'pick a queue & hope for the best' system at both hotels, since we were arriving at 8pm on a saturday eveing I expected a bit of a wait but we waited no more than 5 mins, Check in desk was professional & polite, since we were staying on a Amex Platinum FHR fine hotels & resorts) rate, we were given an envelope with breakfast vouchers, Spa credit ($100) & confirmation of our 4pm check out time.
I asked if we had got a fountain view room & was told we had (with the FHR rate you are given an upgrade if one is available)
Overall check in at Bellgio was slightly better than Wynn (faster) but both staff are professional & helpful.
Room:
North Wing, Room 21078
Note had to walk through the casino to get to the elevators. Saw some people struggling with luggage on this route the next day as the walkway through the casino gets very busy.
Room had 2 beds (I was travelling with my mother - it was her 1st visit to vegas), Desk in corner, Small table & chair, Armoire with TV & wardrobe at sides, Tasteful palette & room looked in very good order.
Pad & paper on desk yet no pen to be found in the whole room.
Nice linens on the bed (decent threadcount) and comfy pillows (not as good as the wynn linen/pillows but still very good)
Overall this room was smaller than a resort room at the Wynn and the little touches seemed missing at the Bellagio.
View:
Bellagio gets top marks
Room had a full on fountain view - the view was so good you could take a great photo just by looking out of the window!!
It was a joy to watch the fountains from our room with a G & T in hand - and obviously as this was my mothers 1st visit to vegas it was quite special to have a room with a view!
Bathroom:
had a large soaking tub (no jets) Seperate shower & single vanity - I MUCH prefer the bathrooms at the Wynn (esp the double vanity with great lighting), I was a little underwhelmed with the Bellagio bathroom.
Wynn bathroom is far better from a female perspective & is much better for getting ready before hitting the town.
Robes:
I was suprised that the Bellagio had quite flimsy waffle bathrobes in the room, Whereas the wynn have much more luxurious robes. I expected a bit more from the Bellagio - A fluffy/plush toweling robe would have been an improvement on the waffle robes.
Toiletries:
Bellagio seemed quite mean (in comparison with Wynn) we had just 3 bottles (shampoo, conditioner & body lotion & a soap But no shower gel or bath foam) & there was no additional bottles in the shower & the products themselves where a bit uninspiring (at the wynn you get a basketful of goodies that is replenished every day - and seperate bottles are put inside the shower - they also smell yummy.
Fontana Lounge:
Everytime i come to vegas the lounge is out of action due to a tourney, I had high hopes of visiting on this trip but alas it was not to be - it was closed again! - Maybe next time!
Spa:
As part of the room rate we had $100 spa credit so mother & I had booked treatments, We liked the spa facilities which were not busy at all on a sunday morning at around 9.15am (though got much busier post brunch time)
We had treatments booked for 10am so we used the facilities before & after, You get a tour when you arrive, a locker & nice robe (the spa robes are similar to be Wynn robes) & slippers.
There are 4 seperate whirlpools so you don't feel crowded, The steam room is excellent - very intense - I love a good steam but it might be a bit much for some so take it easy at first. The sauna & steam rooms were very spacious. there are seats & loungers around the whirlpools so you can sit & read & just chill out. Good selection of hot & cold drinks - some very nice herbal teas (you help yourself)
I had booked Deep Coconut surrender - I HIGHLY reccommend this. Its a firm massage that uses hot towels & stones as well as coconut oil. My therapist was Mandy & she was first rate - Great massage - A must do on my next visit.
The Bellagio have a VAST array of toiletries, hair products, styling products hairdryers & ceramic straighteners to use so you can spend time getting ready to go out after your spa session - They really had thought of everything - there are also powerpoints if you (as I do) prefer to bring your own hair straighteners.
Buffet:
The breakfast vouchers we had could be used at virtually any of the restaurants/cafes, but since this was my mothers 1st time in vegas - I felt we should do the buffet, we did not eat a lot, but it was nice to have a wide variety, Quality seemed high & there was a great deal of choice. coffe & juice were topped up regularly & service was good.
Conservatory:
Spring was the theme, with lots of butterflies, My mother was very impressed and took lots of photos.
Location:
Whilst I love the Wynn the location can mean a LOT of walking, The Bellagio location is perfect, it was great as we arrived (from UK) on a sat night - so everything was on our doorstep.
Checkout:
Super fast & friendly & were were able to get a taxi very quickly at 3.30pm on a sunday

The Bellagio in Las Vegas, for me, is pure luxury. I have been visiting Vegas for the past 6 years, and have always chosen the Bellagio. Why?, its simple, its the only hotel on the strip that is luxurious, clean, friendly, charming and on the whole reasonably well priced for what is returned.
Where can i start with the Bellagio'sendless plusses. Well, the accomodation is beyond any kind of experience ive ever experienced in Vegas, and ive been to quite a few. Whether its a standard room for two, or whether its one of Bellagio's fine suites for a whole family, the stay is absolutely superb.
The service is friendly , very welcoming, very helpful, and always serve their customers with the upmost sincerity and respect.
The Hotel facilities are an absolute plus! Im a very keen swimmer, and the pools at the hotel are great! The cabana's are a nice privledge also. The theatre where i saw the aquatic show O, was fantastic, so modern and creative. I strongly recommend a visit to this show. Via Bellagio, a haven for the hungry shopper within, with shops such as Armani, Dolce and Gabbana, you are spoilt for choice.
The Food, its abssolutely awesome. Normally, i dont rate food that much, but the food that i tasted at Sensi, and also at Picasso were amongst the best dishes i have ever tasted, and im not just saying that! Albeit the price is quite dear, it is most certainly worth it.
Well, i cant really say much more, its just a fantastic hotel, fantastic authentic Italian theme, and most of all for me, i love the way that the whole hotel is just so faultless.
Definetly in my top 3 hotels of all time!!

We were extremely impressed with the Bellagio, from the moment we checked in to the moment we left. On our arrival we were dealt with efficiently and arrived at our room, on the 25th floor a few minutes after checking in. Our room was very impressive. Although we didn't have a view of the strip/fountains, it was still wonderful to look out of the large window and gaze over the northern suburbs. The bathroom, bed and all round facilities were clean. The hotel itself is fantastic. The variety of restaurants, bars and other attractions was very impressive. Our breakfasts, at the Buffet restaurant ,were excellent value for money. The staff were extremely well mannered and efficient. On our last evening there was an unreasonable level of noise coming from next door at around 4 a.m. The security staff came rapidly to the room and the issue was dealt with. The conservatory and its gardens were beautiful. The lobby itself was magnificent. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay such an enjoyable one.
