“Great location”

Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon

Great location right in the middle of the strip. Hotel room with a view of the Bellagio fountains for £100 a night.
No pool on site but you can get free access to the pool at the Flamingo right next door if you show them your key card.
Only down side is that it was a bit noisy- the double glazing was not quite flush with the window pane and being right on the strip there is a lot of traffic. But you don't really go to Vegas to sleep.

“Another great stay - and some tips on noise”

Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon

Bill's continues to please. It's a smaller than average Strip hotel with larger than average rooms, very clean, and very easy to navigate compared to the 2500+ room behemoths that line the rest of the Strip. Bill's location on the corner with Flamingo, Caesars, Bellagio and Bally's truly is center Strip. Although room decor is a bit Victorian frilly, there's a great flat panel TV to compensate. Bathrooms might be considered a bit small for couples, but for singles, it's quite adequate. The only thing missing in rooms is a comfortable lounging chair - there are four straight back dining-style chairs in the rooms.

Because the property is located right on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Flamingo, you're going to get some street noise. Here are some tips to minimize this problem if your ears are sensitive:

--All rooms have a home-style thermostat, which you can set to have the fan run continuously. This does a great job of masking noise, and for people like me, the air rush actually induces sleep. In my stays at Bill's, the AC units provide "quiet" air rush with no accompanying hum, vibration or other motor noise.

--Ask for an odd-numbered room. These rooms face the north and look out over the Flamingo, so the view isn't spectacular, but they are quieter than the even-numbered rooms, which face Bally's. (If view is more important than noise, these even numbered rooms do have an oblique view of the Bellagio fountains, and the view improves for rooms numbered x34 and lower.)

When all other center Strip hotels are selling at $200, Bill's is at $70; when they're at $400, Bill's is at $150. It truly is the best overall value on the Strip.

Really great choice in Las Vegas. The price was great, staff helpful, comfortable rooms, good casino. Really hard to come up with any complaints about the hotel. Oh, and the location is really great too. We had a great time!

“The Best Value for Money Deal”

Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon

We stayed there for 3 nights the first weekend of April on this our first trip to Las Vegas, and that was the best decision of the whole trip! In a place where everything is big, big, big, Bill's was nicely scaled, intimate and quaint with its lovely stained glass windows in the lobby, dining areas and even in the bathroom! It has character and an old world charm about it, and is thoroughly efficient for commuting purposes whether from hotel to The Strip or from lobby to room.

My husband and I visited some of the "biggie" hotels - Bally's, Mandalay Bay, Bellagio's, etc and in these places, even though you pay top dollar for the room rates relative to Bill's, there were long queues of hotel guests waiting to check in. By contrast, we did not have to wait to check in although it was full house at Bill's, and the receptionist very kindly switched us to a quiet non-smoking room on the 4th floor at our request.

Highlight of our stay there was Big Elvis at Bill's Lounge who performed to a standing room only crowd that Mon afternoon I was there. This guy has had his contract extended through 3 management changes, and has become an attraction in his own right.

Bill's has changed hands a couple of times in the last few years, and is now owned by Harrah's. I sure hope the company does not tear down this gem of a hotel in the heart of The Strip and replace it with one of those pretentiously-themed behemoths that Vegas is noted for. In a land of giants, this boutique-like hotel is a find, and a landmark, and should be jealously guarded.

“Best value, location, and service!”

Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon

Our main purpose for choosing Bill's this trip was due to it's ease of accessibility from the strip directly to your room without walking 1/2 mile or more to get to the elevators! Not to mention the great price of the rooms, and the fact you're in the middle of the strip. We were NOT disappointed in Bill's in anyway.

The bed was better than ours at home. When the bathroom faucet was malfunctioning the first morning, we mentioned it to the hotel desk clerk when we went down for breakfast and it was FIXED by the time we went back upstairs about 30 minutes later. We also appreciate the fact that you don't have to fall over strollers or dodge little ones in this hotel or casino. I did not see one person under the age of 21 while we stayed there. As a grandmother, I have NOTHING against children, I just don't believe there's a need to have toddlers and babies in Vegas.

We WILL stay at Bills again... possibly in two months, as we just learned upon our return today, our son and his girlfriend would like us to accompany them!
