Bill's continues to please. It's a smaller than average Strip hotel with larger than average rooms, very clean, and very easy to navigate compared to the 2500+ room behemoths that line the rest of the Strip. Bill's location on the corner with Flamingo, Caesars, Bellagio and Bally's truly is center Strip. Although room decor is a bit Victorian frilly, there's a great flat panel TV to compensate. Bathrooms might be considered a bit small for couples, but for singles, it's quite adequate. The only thing missing in rooms is a comfortable lounging chair - there are four straight back dining-style chairs in the rooms.
Because the property is located right on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Flamingo, you're going to get some street noise. Here are some tips to minimize this problem if your ears are sensitive:
--All rooms have a home-style thermostat, which you can set to have the fan run continuously. This does a great job of masking noise, and for people like me, the air rush actually induces sleep. In my stays at Bill's, the AC units provide "quiet" air rush with no accompanying hum, vibration or other motor noise.
--Ask for an odd-numbered room. These rooms face the north and look out over the Flamingo, so the view isn't spectacular, but they are quieter than the even-numbered rooms, which face Bally's. (If view is more important than noise, these even numbered rooms do have an oblique view of the Bellagio fountains, and the view improves for rooms numbered x34 and lower.)
When all other center Strip hotels are selling at $200, Bill's is at $70; when they're at $400, Bill's is at $150. It truly is the best overall value on the Strip.
