I'm kinda upset that they're changing the Aladdin into Planet Hollywood. The Aladdin is so great b/c of the whole cultural theme it displays. Management stated that the change comes about post 9/11 and the decrease in sales. There seemed to be a universal prejudice regarding the themes displayed and no one wanted to endorse it.

This is very unfortunate b/c the whole aura is unique I really enjoyed my stay there. I think it was the best resort on the strip and strategically placed in the middle of everything. We already have too many Planet Hollywood's. I'm disappointed in this change, and in the tourists who didn’t support the Aladdin when it needed it the most.

From hundreds of my photos, I’ve included a few taken from the window of my room during my stay there. (The 2002 dates are my camera's malfunction). Hope you in enjoy them ;-)

We stayed for just one night, the 15 Feb. On arrival at Front Desk, we were immediately upgraded to a room with better view (without us asking). My daughter was unwell so put her in a hot bath straightaway. Afterwards, we noticed that the bath didn't drain very well at all, and the shower tray had mysteriously filled with some sort of effluent! After calling maintenance, we then called Reception, who immediately changed/upgraded again our room, this time to a suite, overlooking Paris/Bellagio. It was superb and meant my daughter could enjoy the view from her hotel bed!! They were very apologetic, prompt and efficient to sort out the problem quickly, and I can't recommend them highly enough.
Also, the situation of the Aladdin being in the centre of the Strip can hardly be bettered. It is probably worth trying to get one of their front rooms overlooking strip, because you will have the most fabulous view.

I go to Vegas 2 times a year on business. The past 4 times ive stayed at the Mandalay Bay and i will never go back there (the only good thing is their pool, and the red, white and blue cafe). The Aladdin was GREAT! Even though construction was going on (it's turning into the Planet Hollywood hotel) the beds were 10 times better than the Mandalay, the staff was great, the rooms were clean and their was a huge Starbucks inside the main casino. Also to my surprise there was movie memoribilia in the room (due to the planet hollywood renovation) a outfit from the Terminator II movie. Another perk is that it is right on the STRIP, no need to take a cab anywhere.
I would stay here again on my next trip to Vegas.
I also had a swedish massage at the Elemins spa and that was fabulous as well!

We just got back from staying at the Aladdin from Feb 13 - 17, 2006. We arrived by taxi from the airport around 5 pm on Monday. We were checked into our room within 5 minutes of arriving at the hotel. When checking in we were given a 'Bellagio View' room without even asking. When he handed me the keys he told me he upgraded our room because we were the first people who hadn't yelled at him in 20 minutes. It was a beautiful room. We had amazing veiw of the falls from the 38th floor. The king size bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. The bathroom really is wonderful. The locations is pretty much perfect. Right in the middle. As for the construction issue which I was so worried about after reading some of the other comments, it didn't really hinder our vacation in anyway. We spend a fair amount of time in and around the Aladdin, and only one time did I hear the jackhammer. There are a couple of construction walls up, but we didn't feel it was a big deal in comparison to some of the other hotels/casinos doing revovations at this time. The one thing that was a bit of a bother was the people at the door trying to give you free tickets for shows to listen to their timeshare business. We just told them we were leaving the next day and they left us alone. And it really wasn't any different than just walking up and down the strip with people trying to hook you in on different things. All in all we really enjoyed our stay. We are just regular people, who stay in regular hotels when we travel, and we really felt like this was a bit of a luxury.

The Aladdin Hotel has several blocked off areas for construction. If you're paying for a 4 star hotel you expect some grandeur or at least reception, concierge, restaurants and casino with some grand areas (otherwise why aren't you staying at a 2-3 star) hotel. Everywhere you turn there are large walled off areas due to construction.

If this matters to you for the rates being charged you should look elsewhere.

We had problems with housekeeping and engineering requiring repeating requests and eventually had to go to the front desk manager. He treated us well including a fancy dinner over all the hassles but you don't go on vacation to get hassles.

Good Concierge service, impressive top-rated buffet if you want a big meal with lots of selection at a good price. Hotel also has good location in the middle of the Las Vegas Boulevard strip.
