We had a great time at PH, the rooms were great. Check in was quick and friendly. We got upgraded to the 51st floor with a view of the strip. The room was clean, bid and overall nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The crowd is pretty young, we were upper 30's and we did ok. No problems with thin walls. Great location and overall a 9. Would definitely go back.

Stayed here for 9 nights for our 1st trip to Las Vegas. Will firstly say, absolutely fell in love with LV and am planning on returning later in the year.

Ok Planet Hollywood - Will start with the good points.

The loacation of the hotel was spot on, in the centre of everything, nice hotel, very spacious room (upgraded to a resort room, although the expected decent view was the sunbeds between the 2 pools). Casino good, we really just stuck to the slots, and signed up for the players club, we both received free slot play and other discounts. We never had to wait long for a drink in the casino, and found the waitressess very friendly. Loved the Miracle Mile shops being on the doorstep, also visited both Planet dailies and the Earl of Sandwich, both good.

Ok now the bad -

You are constantly hassled here, either for timeshare or Peepshow/Tony & Tina's wedding bookings. We had literally arrived and checked in when we were hounded by 2 PH Timeshare people, I politely said that we had been travelling for 18 hours and just wanted to get a shower, they were quite rude and expected us to drop everything and go and see their new development, in the end I just walked off, I became quite good at just walking off after a few days of constant hassling. I have to say, we didn't experience this at any of the other strip hotels we visited, just PH. I had read on here that the pool wasn't much cop, but it really wasn't fit for purpose, after 2 days pounding the strip we decided to have an afternoon by the pool, we got to the pool and it was mobbed, 2 tiny pools, sunbeds packed in like sardines, there were people everywhere, there was nowhere to sit at all. We didn't go to Vegas to lounge by the pool all day, but just fancied a few hours chill out and cool down, it wasn't to be. This hotel gets mega busy at weekends and seems to struggle with the extra guests. Upon arrival we were charged $5 per day resort fee, this apparently entitled us to 2 bottles of water and a newspaper each day. I have no problem paying this fee, but expext to receive the promised items, most days we were left 1 bottle of water, and it was hit and miss if your paper was outside in the morning.

After having a good look around the other strip hotels, I feel that there were much better hotels within the same price range or within £100 or so either way. We will definitely be returning, but will stay elsewhere. I am not one to moan for the sake of it, just my personal opinion. We chose PH as it seemed to be getting good reviews at the time of booking, with the benefit of experience and seeing the other hotels, I will not choose this hotel again.

We loved Planet Hollywood as we thought it was the most electric resort on the strip-appealing to couples and those who like a sexy, hip atmosphere. The check in/check out procedure was smooth and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. The restaurants and the mall were wonderful as there was so much variety. Try a sandwich at "The Earl of Sandwich"-reasonably priced and tasty. Located right across from the sandwich shop is a gigantic free slot machine that you can receive a free spin on each day. It's worth taking the daily free spin because every spin is a win;you can win free food, free slot play, and other gifts. The room was very clean and the housekeeper cleaned daily and replinished supplies in a timely manner. Take advantage of the complimentary daily 2 bottles of water as you will appreciate it in Vegas(water is very expensive). Take quick showers because the drain is slow.

Visited Plant Hollywood 18-23 June 2009 after being offered upgrade of room (to Resort Room) by our travel agent. However, after checking in (very slow with few staff) found we had not been upgraded and only when questioned about this did they eventually change our room.
The room was great, very large ,albeit as others have said it was very dark and you needed lights on even during the day.The bathroom was huge and no complains re the housekeeping or hot water.
We used the Spice Buffet for breakfast a couple of times and this had a huge range of food to choose from but there are much cheaper places if you prefer within the Miracle Mile shopping Mall adjoining the Hotel.
We also ate in Plant Dailies where we had a pork dish which was great and of course plenty of Starbucks.
The Fitness Centre is good with gym, jacuzzi and steam room but it costs an extra $25 per person which I felt was cheeky considering what you are paying already but we did get a voucher on arrival which allowed one free pass for one day for one person.
The pool area is nothing special and to be honest on a weekend you feel like herded cattle lying in rows. My husband likes loud music and even he thought the volume was excessive - all day - and it was non stop but the younger crowd loved it. It was ok for a couple of hours but then I had to get out of the place for a bit of peace to read my book. During the weekdays it's better but still constant music but not background music - loud nightclub volume.
The hotel's location is great and you can walk everywhere from there.
We got tickets for Bette Midler at Caesars Palace and she was brilliant.
Overall it wasa good holiday but if you are going to relax in the sun for a few days and like some quiet to read at the pool I would pick another hotel.

Spent two nights at Planet Hollywood. I found it one of the less attractive hotels on the strip. Dark and oppressive. You needed to walk through the dark and dingy casino to get out and it was almost scary, no exit signs, what would you do in case of a fire? The noise in the public areas was ridiculous - even in the lift the music blared at you. It is attached to the Miracle Mile shopping centre which is ...... a shopping arcade. Rooms were dimly lit and a little cramped - dark wood furniture didn't help the ambiance, although the bathroom area was large with plenty of toiletries and towels. What was the theme of this hotel supposed to be? Only reference to Hollywood was a tacky poster on the wall and a small table with item from a film. Hollywood?
