Visited Plant Hollywood 18-23 June 2009 after being offered upgrade of room (to Resort Room) by our travel agent. However, after checking in (very slow with few staff) found we had not been upgraded and only when questioned about this did they eventually change our room.
The room was great, very large ,albeit as others have said it was very dark and you needed lights on even during the day.The bathroom was huge and no complains re the housekeeping or hot water.
We used the Spice Buffet for breakfast a couple of times and this had a huge range of food to choose from but there are much cheaper places if you prefer within the Miracle Mile shopping Mall adjoining the Hotel.
We also ate in Plant Dailies where we had a pork dish which was great and of course plenty of Starbucks.
The Fitness Centre is good with gym, jacuzzi and steam room but it costs an extra $25 per person which I felt was cheeky considering what you are paying already but we did get a voucher on arrival which allowed one free pass for one day for one person.
The pool area is nothing special and to be honest on a weekend you feel like herded cattle lying in rows. My husband likes loud music and even he thought the volume was excessive - all day - and it was non stop but the younger crowd loved it. It was ok for a couple of hours but then I had to get out of the place for a bit of peace to read my book. During the weekdays it's better but still constant music but not background music - loud nightclub volume.
The hotel's location is great and you can walk everywhere from there.
We got tickets for Bette Midler at Caesars Palace and she was brilliant.
Overall it wasa good holiday but if you are going to relax in the sun for a few days and like some quiet to read at the pool I would pick another hotel.

Spent two nights at Planet Hollywood. I found it one of the less attractive hotels on the strip. Dark and oppressive. You needed to walk through the dark and dingy casino to get out and it was almost scary, no exit signs, what would you do in case of a fire? The noise in the public areas was ridiculous - even in the lift the music blared at you. It is attached to the Miracle Mile shopping centre which is ...... a shopping arcade. Rooms were dimly lit and a little cramped - dark wood furniture didn't help the ambiance, although the bathroom area was large with plenty of toiletries and towels. What was the theme of this hotel supposed to be? Only reference to Hollywood was a tacky poster on the wall and a small table with item from a film. Hollywood?

Good location, okay for singles, but I'd rather stay elsewhere when traveling with my husband.

So, I can't really complain that when I checked in, I was upgraded to an enormous room that overlooked the Bellagio fountains, which I could watch from one of 2 windows or my bathtub. (We booked a standard room at the last minute for what I think was probably a very high rate at $250/night.) The room was very large and on the 21st floor. So no complaints with room size, auto upgrade, or views!

While the room itlself and linens were clean, they left old wrinkled room service cards and stuff like that on the tables, bed, etc., which I thought was gross, cheap, and took the hotel down a notch in my view. Also the shower head was really gross, covered in lime deposits. If some of those details would have been taken care of, I would have seen the hotel more favorably but it was a bad first impression.

I just don't personally love the decor at Planet Hollywood, which to me is very clubby/trendy. It would be fun for a group of singles or bachelor/ette party. And, although my husband and are young enough to appreciate this style, I just didn't think it was very romantic. And the trendy look isn't done in a high-end, elegant way.

The location - across from Bellagio - and right on LV Blvd. (the Strip) is good, and that is what I liked best about this hotel.

I guess this hotel has all the amenities you need, BUT the gym is $25/day / person. You have to pay for high speed internet. Although I didn't eat in the restaurants, I wasn't really interested in those available. (I can eat in PF Chang when I'm at home.) The pools (there are 2 next to each other) are fine, but not remarkable - no bells and whistles like lazy rivers or wave pools or beatiful decor to write about - they're just pools. The scene at the pool is just like a nightclub - lots of booze, hormones, tattoos and loud music. It's entertaining for about 2 days, and then you just want to retire to nice clean uncrowded pool.

For the price we paid for the room...and considering that we only used the hotel for the room...I would rather upgrade and stay at a hotel with pretty, clean rooms and/or a really nice pool OR downgrade and stay at Bally's which is right next door, still clean rooms and excellent location, less amentices, and not the trendy scene.

Finally, the conceirge would not recommend restaurants at other hotel properties. He instead directed me off the strip! Word of advice: if you want to figure out the good restaurants and clubs, it is best to research this yourself and hotels will only recommend what's on their property or sister properties. The MGM group owns about 8 hotels in Vegas, but Planet Hollywood is on its own.

I WOULD recommend this hotel to twenty and thirtysomethings - especially singles - who are traveling to Las Vegas for the nightlife. I would NOT recommend this hotel to families (definitely wouldn't want to take my kids to the pool), older couples, or couples who are traveling for a romantic weekend of nice dinners and shows.

For my next Vegas trip, I am going to plan the nightclubs I want to visit and make a reservation so I don't have to wait in THAT line. I also plan to see more Cirque du Soleil shows, to hit the pool from about 10 to 12, then to shop from 1 to 6, to research good restaurants for dinner, followed by a show!

We have a blast at PH! We had a panaorama suite and it was amazing! We had a great view of the south strip, and we could see the fountain from the bedroom. We enjoyed the bar, the decor and the malls. Something for everyone of us! The casino was very tight...found more luck at the Luxor than there. The waitresses in PH were few and far between. The Club Tatoo in the mall is awesome!!! Those guys were so nice!! Loved the Yard drinks and the food at the hotel was great. Koi was superb. The only negative thing I have to say is that we had to run the shower for 15-30 minutes before we could get hotwater. Sort of a drag for 10 girls and two showers. Definately will bring my husband back! (He'd love the pleasure pit)

Having just returned from 7 nights stay at Planet Hollywood all I can say to others is book here you will love it.

We got there and it took 15 mins to check in, got to the room on the 19th floor and had a perfect view of the fountains.

Beds are so good, really did bot want to get out of bed some days.
Cleaners came everyday so no complaints there.

Pleasure pit was good, never seen so much silicone in such a small area of a casino!!!

All the shops, restaurants were top notch.

Only complaint was that the holiday had to end.
