My husband and I stayed at PH the last weekend in April. Anyway . . . We have been to Vegas many times, and stay at a different hotel each time. My husband is 33 and I am 29 and we like a nice room, good casino vibe, nice sports book and close walking distance to everything. I was going back and forth betweeen hotels and we finally decided on PH. I have to say it was a good trip. We got a renovated room, facing the strip on the highest floor in the hotel (23rd, I think). We had to really negotiate for it at the front desk, but they gave it to us. We originally had the suite. Way more $ per night, but totally not worth the price!!! The suite we stayed in was clean, but not renovated, and the bathroom was huge - took up alost 40% of the room. Nice, but who needs such a big bathroom? We were pleased with our new room, which was a standard room, smaller, but still a decent size, cheaper, updated and a better value than the suite. Seperate room for toliet, glass door shower and separate tub. It worked out just fine. Beds were comfy. Purple towels were different, a unique touch. Save your $$$ and book a standard room.
Now on to the fun stuff . . . PH is in a very good location. It connected to the mall (you can literally walk from the casino floor into the mall), which as a shopper, I love. Lots of fun stores in mall, and a better selection than Fashion Show Mall, IMO. Short walk to Paris (literally right next door) and the Bellagio fountains. 24- hour Starbucks, right off the casino floor, which was great, husband loved it. Plenty of food options at PH, but I have to say we did not eat at any of them, excpect for Tropicana, in the mall. We just got salads and burgers, decent lunch. Went to Palms at the Venetian (good, as expected), and ordered room service a lot.
The vibe at PH is great. As someone in my late 20's, I loved it. Very upeat, but not too crazy, good music playing, but not too loud and stylish decor. I personally liked the layout of the hotel, you did not have to walk through the casino to get to your room. And I thought after a day of walking around, it was very easy to get around the hotel. Sorry, can not comment on the pool, my hubby and I are not pool people. But we saw the pool and it looked, well, "nothing to write home about", as my mom would say.
We saw all sorts of age groups at PH, but I would classify this hotel as best for someone under 40. The vibe is a little younger, IMO, but not as MTV-ish as the Palms. Never went to Prive, the club at the hotel, went to Poerty at Venetian instead (we always visit at least one club in Vegas).
We would I stay here again, probably, but only after we stay at a few of the other hotels on the strip because we like to stay at a different hotel every time. Gave 4/5 stars because no hotel is perfect, I am a picky hotel person and will probably never give a hotel 5 stars.
