My girlfriends and I just got back from Vegas, we had a great time on freemont street, EXCEPT for staying at Fitzgeralds. I have been reading the reviews and they didn't sound too bad, but from the moment I walked through the doors I knew I had made a very bad mistake. The first thing to greet me was the smell, it is one I will remember for a long time (and it was not good) second the check-in system was down, took them 1 hour to get it back up and running. The girl at the counter was very rude, she didn't even ask if we would like to store our luggage while we waited (you can not have any luggage on the gambling floor). Next we were supposed to have rooms together, but they were not even on the same floor in fact the were 15 floors apart. Next Fitz is doing some remodeling and the elevators were not working properly, we waited 20 min for the elevator to stop on the 15th floor, before finally taking the stairs down. Then when we checked out we had to ride the elevator up to the top and back down in order not to have to carry our luggage down those same stairs. The towles were grey (once white), there was at least a inch of dust behind the bathroom door on the trim, carpet was stained and ripped, shower dripped, wall paper was tore is several places. Room also had the same funky smell. We couldn't get another room because they were all booked. The casino floor made you want to take a shower after playing in it. In fact in the bathroom that is exactly what a call girl was doing, washing herself off in the sink, only thing she had on was her earring and bra. (just what I needed to see at 3:30 in the morning) cleaning parts that she used for service.
While the rest of freemont street was alot of fun, and we didn't let this ruin our time, I WOULD NEVER STAY AT FITZGERALDS AGAIN EVEN IF IT WERE FREE!!
Next time its the golden nugget, which we checked out in detail! VERY NICE
