“Downtown ~Well Worth It”

Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel

I debated staying at the Fitzgeralds Hotel & Casino because I didn't find many reviews on it.

I must say after my stay on the Downtown Strip the first time, this was a BIG step up especially when paying the next to cheapest price.

Room was clean, view was ok, but could have been better, maybe facing south instead of east.

Only issue was because we were in a room near the Freemont Experience, you could hear it, right up until midnight, but considering the show is about 5 minutes max it wasn't bad.

Didn't get a king size bed like I wanted but I expected because I was getting there around midnight, that it might be gone.

This hotel was clean, the staff were polite and the Courtyard food was good. The location was perfect because it's located at the East end of the Freemont experience and it's a short block to the bus stop to catch The Deuce to the Strip. Also after your done on the strip and brought back, the bus drops you off across the street (two small doors down) from Fitzgeralds. It was a real plus especially if you walked for hours on the strip.

Hung out on the 2nd floor and the slots were pretty loose, didn't get a jackpot but came home 2 bills up. :D

“Just what I expected”

Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel

I stayed at the Fitz. Feb. 6th thru the 9th 2008. I like to say it is what is. The room was fine as others have stated I would classify it like a Holiday type room. It was cleaned everyday. Yes the rooms could use some updating but overall it was what I thought it would be. I got what I paid for, I was very satisfied. Now unlike others I did not have any issues with the elevators. No real long waiting times.
The service or friendliness of the casino people is what really stood out to me. From the dealers to the bartenders all were outstanding and made me feel welcome. Players Club easy and worth joining. Overall I'd stay here again no complaints. By the way I typically stay on the strip.

“Another Good Stay At The Fitz”

Stayed two nights comped through a mail offer. Was given a corner room on the 18th floor. If you have stayed at Fitzgeralds in the last ten years, you would recognize this room. They have not upgraded for some time, but the room was clean, and in good condition with the exception of a few wear marks on the dresser.

The bathroom was spotless, no mold or mildew as some have reported (see attached photos). The carpet was very clean also, walked on it in white socks and did not pick up any dirt. There is a no charge safe in every room. The AC/heater was new, and much quieter than the old ones. I found the bed and pllows comfortable, and slept very well.

The rooms are not giant, or fancy, but they are comfortable and quiet. I had no problems with the elevators during my stay.

If I was paying, I would probably choose the newly redecorated rooms next door at the Four Queens, but I would have no problem staying at the Fitz again, especially for $0!!

“Never again!”

Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel

We stayed here on our first trip to Vegas. The casino was really smokey, and the elevators are SUPER SLOW! The room wasn't too bad except the bathroom. It smelled like urine, and the bathtub was slimy. The sink was slow-draining. The bed and room itself weren't all that bad, they were clean and didn't smell. One thing that kept driving us nuts was that it was either too hot or too cold in the room. I couldn't keep the A/C unit at a comfy medium.

“Very Inexpensive”

Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel

It is an exteremely cheap Las Vegas which is more suited for elderly people. Young people should not stay there, Vegas downtown area is extremely boring and very much dated. The hotel itself is quite nice for few nights stay with lots of restaurants, even Macdonalds could be found there! Very much dated csino and taht's it! Nothing else. The room was spacious and very nice, but my goodness, we stayed on the top floor (34) and it took 10 minutes to get down or up with only 3 lifts working which stop at each floor. I would give Fitz 2,5 stars, not more. The rate was really attractive. 90 dollars a night for 2 King beds! Were could you find a better rate. Really inexpensive!
