I go to Vegas at least 4 times a year and I doubt I'll stay here again. I usually stay at Wynn (sometimes Caesar's Palace), but I thought I'd give the Palazzo a try and in retrospect, I should've stuck with what I liked.

The rooms are big, well decorated, and comfortable. No complaints there! There are 3 flat screen TV's and the bathroom is a pretty decent size.

But the service at the hotel is seriously lacking. The "to go" menu at the pool is overpriced and very limited AND there is no pooside lunch service (hey...that's a big ammenity for me!), so I spent 30 minutes going down to the lobby to get hamburgers from the Grand Lux Cafe. The "main" pool is small for a hotel this size, although there are a few smaller pools. The lounge chairs were not padded and hard.

For some odd reason the phones don't have a "housekeeping" button, so you have to call the Front Desk, who will take your request and forward it. What a waste of time.

Furthermore, the elevators didn't always stop parallel to the floor (so watch your step when you're getting in/out) and upon check-out the Front Desk wasn't as accomodating as I expected when I had to leave a package for a friend who was checking out later.

Overall, I doubt I would stay here again. Perhaps I'll stay here in the winter when going to the pool is not an option or when Wynn is sold out.

“Lots of problems - not a "luxury" hotel”

Palazzo Hotel & Casino

Pros:
Room was lovely without the cleanliness/wear and tear issues mentioned in other reviews.

Cons:
Room available 3.5 hours after official "check-in" time.
Housekeeping sporadic and inconsistent, however always had enough towels every day
No coffee in room - this is done even in low-priced motels
Everything was expensive - restaurants, shopping, bars
Room service didn't do anything they promised (split a bill, have change ready with person bringing up food).

Overall - I'd stay somewhere else if given the choice

Palazzo is an Immaculate hotel located at the heart of the strip. I stayed here with my girlfriend for memorial day weekend, 2008. All of the restauarants inside the Palazzo are top notch and extremely expensive. The rooms are all suites and the nicest I've ever stayed in. The hotel is new and the rooms are impeccably clean. I'd recommend this hotel for the well-to-do traveler who's looking for the best and most expensive side of Vegas.

Everything was really nice - the lobby, the casino, the room. The best thing about our room was that it was up so high that we had a great view of the mountains and could watch planes landing and taking off at the airport. The split-level bed area and lounge area is nice. And the bathroom was roomy with a great tub and shower. However, they went through the trouble of putting a t.v. in the bathroom, but you can't see it from the tub. The pool area is nice but super crowded (of course).

My only complaint is the price - it was nice, but all-in-all it's just a hotel room, a place to sleep. I'd rather save my money and stay at a less posh hotel and then visit that hotel for it's ammenities.

“Good, Bad, and Ugly”

My wife and I stayed at the Palazzo, the July 4th weekend.

The Good: The rooms are physically very nice and new. Plenty of room to stretch the legs, and access to all the Palazzo and Venetian facilities was very nice.

The Bad: Service: The hotel is relatively new. However, as part of the established Venetian, one would expect competent staff. We had numerous issues, which were never resolved by management. Although we received calls from the hotel management, they always apologized, and used July 4th as a constant excuse, rather than resolving the problems.

#1 - The shower looked very nice, but the water pressure was terrible. It was never resolved.
#2 - The safe was broken and never fixed after several calls.
#3 – The room service food was left in our room for two days, until collected.
#4 - Housekeeping - We must have received 5 to 6 calls/knocks on the door, during our 3 day stay, asking when we would be out of the room, so it could be cleaned; even though we had the Do Not Disturb Sign displayed. I think housekeeping was more concerned about getting home themselves, versus the well being of paying customers.

The Ugly: Tao Restaurant - More Glitz than Substance - Don't bother with this restaurant. The food is terrible, and the staff forgets about the patrons. Our waitress literally went home, and forgot about us, and the restaurant management did nothing. They should stick with bar service only. Management clearly can not run a restaurant.

Also, the Canyon Ranch Spa, more Glitz than Substance as well. It is not very good value for the money. We have much better Spas at home.
