I've been staying at the Venetian for the past few years, and decided to give the new Palazzo a try, since the last time I stayed at the Venetian, found it somewhat worn. Well, the luster of the Palazzo is just that - luster - for when you scratch the surface, I found a hotel that is far from a 5 star property. Problems with check-in, (granted, it was 3 hrs before "real" check in time, but hard to believe that I had to return to the front desk to find out when it was finally ready - the promised phone call never came), and for a new property (less than 7 months old) the room was worn already (broken handle on nightstand, stains on sofa, scratches on furniture), and don't get me started w/ phone calls to various departments that were NEVER returned. I'm also finding that their Comps are the poorest of any casino on the strip, with the exception of their high-class neighbor, the Wynn. All I know is that in the future, I'm probably going to look at other properties that associates have told me where they have had better treatment and a warmer reception. So ciao, Palazzo/Venetian...all that glitters isn't gold.
