“Not worth it!!”

Desert Tides

This place was definitely not worth the cheap rates they offer. We had a 2 bedroo condo and were very disappointed. The whole condo was dirty. There was sawdust on the floors in the kitchen and bathroom and hairs on the bathroom floor. Two out of four bulbs in the bathroom lights were not working. All the floors were disgusting. If we walked around barefoot, our feet would turn black from the dirt/dust on the floor. The carpet in the bedrooms looked like it had not been vacuumed in a long time. The couch in the sitting room was not comfortable and the air conditioning was so loud we couldn't carry on a normal conversation if it was on. Our condo was on the 2nd floor so there was a unit above ours. We could hear every time someone walked across the floors, moved a chair or any other furniture. The windows were also not sound-proof. We were woken up each night several times as other people came home and walked by our windows. We could hear their conversations as if we were standing right next to them. There were no phones in the rooms and no internet access. The front desk told us we should have a modem in our room, but we didn't and they never brought us one. Sure there is a plasma screen TV, but that is about the only nice thing in the whole place. The pool was closed. There are no soda machines or any ammenities to make your stay more enjoyable. We never had housekeeping and had to stock our kitchen with cleaning & paper products. The location is on the other side of the 15 from the strip, so it was not at all convenient to many of the Las Vegas attractions. I would not recommend this "resort" to anyone.

Room included a full kitchen, bed, living room and bad. Nice accomodations for the price. Unfortunately the pool was not open for some reason. Nice seperation, but not too far, from the strip.

It was a fabulous stay. My wife and I went out to Vegas for a wedding and waited until two weeks before the event to find somewhere to stay. I looked around and everything was $200.00+ for one night. We stayed for 100.00. The place was very clean and very nice. We got there before the check-in time and they accomidated us. The only issue we had was, no tissue, no paper towels for the kitchen and no bath towels. Also there was no phone in the room. Other then that the place was worth the minor issues.

“Do Not Stay at the Cay Club - Find Another Condo!!”

We chose the Cay Club since this was a family reunion of 6 adults and this was one of the few 3 bedroom condos we could find and their price seemed reasonable. It had not been reviewed so going off what we could read about it , it sounded pleasant enough. How wrong could we be!
This is a condo that has attempted to change over to a hotel. The actual unit itself was nice enough, good layout and the location wasnt bad. It faces the Palms Hotel & the Gold Coast & Rio. They list that they offer telephones in their rooms...NO they dont. Everytime we had to make a call we had to use our cell phone. Their housekeeping department is HORRIBLE!! In fact we even complained to the housekeeping manager and nothing was done. When we checked in we stated we wanted housekeeping every day and they asked us for a good time. We said 1pm would be good. We stayed 3 nights/2 days. The floors needed to be washed because if you walked around barefoot or with socks on your feet would become black from dust, etc. The couch was broken so it was difficult to sit on - which made sitting around the living room with 6 adults a pain since the only other furniture is a chair & ottoman. We ended up using the chairs from the dining room. Each night we came back in housekeeping had not been there at all so each night around 1130pm we had to call down to the front desk to ask them to bring us towels. The front desk agent wasnt too helpful nor did she sound like she knew what she was doing. She asked us if we had put our card on the door to request housekeeping and we said we didnt have a card to put out. We also didnt see anyone else's door with cards on them either. Plus we had told them a time already. On the last night we came in around midnight and again housekeeping hadnt shown up. We did the usual of calling down to the front desk and complaining. Finally someone showed up with a stack. When we looked at them they had given us 6 bath MATS not towels so yet again we had to call them back, complain, and have someone bring us actual towels! Also there was no dishwasher liquid for the dishwasher and we ran out of glasses and some silverware because housekeeping did not supply any. We left them a note asking for some but of course that would have required housekeeping to show up and clean the condo. We asked to speak to the manager but were told that there isnt a manager available over the weekend. There is a Food 4 Less a couple blocks away for groceries. If you're looking for a condo, keep searching!

PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE NEGATIVE POST BELOW. This place is gorgeous! The cay club has just begun doing nightly rentals this year and for the price, they simply can't be beat. I spent my 21st birthday here with my friends and family and everyone was delightfully impressed with their units. I only went in the the 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom units (they also have 3bdrm) but let me tell you they were all FLAWLESS.

My parents stood in a 2 bedroom ground unit that had a HUGE plasma screen. THESE PLACES ARE FULLY FURNISHED! By fully furnished I mean, everything you could ever want/use while at home. I'm talking pots, pans, plates, forks, knives, even scissors! The bedrooms are separated by a corridor and each have their own bathroom. The units on the bottom floor all have outdoor patios for smoking and the units on the upper floors have balconies. They shared their with another couple and told me that at night, they could not hear each other snoring...which is saying a lot cuz those guys are LOUD. lol.

The other 2 bedroom unit i went in was being occupied by a group of my friends. They were all bachelors, so they really dug their pad and were eager to fill their large fridge up with beer. They loved the place. It was on the third level and they had wireless internet and a breathtaking view of the rio. their unit even had a fireplace!

my 1 bedroom unit was just like the 2 bedroom units only it lacked the extra bedroom. All fully furnished, and the bathroom had toiletries from bath and body works. the tub was HUGE! the bed was SUPER COMFORTABLE and theres plenty of storage and a walk in closet. There's no maid service but with a washer and dryer right there it wasn't too inconvenient. Our unit was also fully furnished but we noticed that we were missing ice trays, which we had seen in the other units. We made a call to the front desk and they brought us some immediately. Great Service.

On Saturday night my friends and i literally WALKED to the Palms! It was only about a block, which came in handy when we came home @ 4am. Other local casinos are the Goldcoast and Rio...all within walking distance.

On our last day we finally decided to take a trip to the pool. Our room was so cool, it was most comfortable to stay in rather than swim outside. The pool WAS under going maintenance the day before, but it was so freakin hot outside we didn't mind staying in our room. When we did take our trip to the pool it was quite beautiful, with a waterfall and all. The only thing lacking was pool furniture;they could have used more of it.

All in all, my friends and family had a WONDERFUL experience. The cay club CANNOT be beat for the price. beautiful, well-equipped accommodations. friendly and attentive staff. location. everything.

needless to say, i enjoyed my stay and hope to return back soon.
