Only ten people max on this tour makes it such a unique experience, we had Alfonso pick us up dead on time, along with another English couple on honeymoon, a Canadian couple and an American family who met up to do the tour for their son Brians birthday treat. Alfonso was a great guide, first stop Boulder City for a Macdonalds breakfast, where we all started to get to know each other as we were about to share a very special day that I am sure none of us will ever forget. Then onto the Hoover dam and Route 66 through the most amazing scenery that is forever changing, we saw big horn sheep, chipmonks, deer, elks, we saw the landscape change from lunar to desert to hills with cattle and joshua trees, the higher we got the more green and cooler with pine trees. The grand canyon national park south rim is so beautiful, we picknicked on the ledge together, big sandwich, gorgeous grapes, cheese & crackers, cookies, lots of water, The sky was bluest of blue, we hiked fro 3 hours, not to hot, just amazing views across the canyon, Alfonso is so knowledgable. Then off back to vegas a four hour journey back with new found friends, does not take long at all! You could not see what we saw by air, you could not have had that experience in a large group. This is an amazing trip. My advice is to book it now, when you get to vegas it could be booked up , we booked a month before hand. There are so many trips to the canyon to chose from in vegas, you would not know what to chose. All this for $135 per person. Best day ever, thank you so much Alfonso!

Wife and I took the June 26 Sunset Tour - was expecting Daryl to pick us up after reading reviews but surprised to have Chevy Chase, I mean, George greet us. We were joined by 7 others, including an very interesting British couple! George was a great guide providing excellent photography advice and obscure facts. His constant humor was a great plus. My wife and I greatly recommend this tour to everyone. Ask for George and don't forget to use the bathroom at all stops! Go Tarheels!

My wife (Kathy) and I went on this tour on June 24th. We had read quite a few reviews about this tour so we booked it right away (3 weeks before our trip). We wanted to take the daytime tour, but ended up going on the sunset tour which is about $50 dollars more a person. From the previous reviews and email confirmation, we were excited to meet Daryl (the owner). However, the day of our trip our guide was George. George was actually very funny. He had me (and the group) laughing throughout the entire tour. He was also very knowledgable about facts about Las Vegas, Boulder City (NV), Hoover Dam, Route 66, and the Grand Canyon (all of the places along the way). He also happens to be a professional photographer and he gave our group pointers about taking photos (like creating depth..haha). And, he took a few nice photos too. We checked out his webpage...nice photos by the way. So, just in case you're looking for a true photographer and getting married in Vegas....you may want to inquire about George. It so happens that there were three people in our group whose names are Kathy (my wife being one of them). The $150 price for the Sunset tour was well worth it. Why? Small group. Our group was a total of nine. Breakfast at Mickey D's that gave the group an opportunity to mingle and get to know each other. Delicious lunch (huge sandwiches, grapes, cookies, and triscuits (biscuits for you brits out there) with cheese...yummy. The walk wasn't anything strenuous ... it was a leisurely walk with a bunch of stops for photos along the way. We all sat together to watch the sunset. Unfortunately there were a few clouds which prevented us from seeing a true sunset. We had a blast none-the-less. George...Mahalo...thank you for a great tour!

My boyfriend and I took the Sunset Tour on June 24, 2009. We figured this leg of our Las Vegas trip would be a once-in-a-lifetime thing and we wanted to find the best company to show it to us. Thanks to the reviews on this site, we chose Grand Adventures, and it was worth every penny! Our tour guide, George Wolf, led everything efficiently and had a wonderful personality - not to mention his photography background, which was just icing on the cake. The walking tour was a great way to experience the canyon, as it was amazing being able to take pictures on the edge without even a guardrail behind us, as a lot of the touristy lookout points had.The size of the group was perfect, and it was nice chatting with so many people from various backgrounds. It was a long day, but it was totally worth it. The stops at Hoover Dam and Seligman, AZ broke up the drive there and were awesome photo opportunities, too. I will definitely recommend Grand Adventures to anyone I know travelling to Las Vegas who wants a top-notch tour company!

The key to our entire day, and it is a long day (we left at 9:30am and got back at midnight), was our guide George Wolf. We was fun, energetic and was more than willing to share any and all info he had about our tour and Las Vegas in general. He took pictures for us and really made it a great trip.

We traveled in a van with 2 other families from England. We actually got to know one of the fams very well by the end of the trip.

Our sunset that day was less than spectacular, but all in all, it was a great day! Don't hesistate to book a trip, but book early, they fill up fast.
