After reading many glowing recommendations about this walking tour I booked it and can honestly say that it was worth every penny. The company only takes a max of 10 people on each tour so you don't spend ages waiting for tons of people to get back on the bus! Our trip started with a prompt pick up at our hotel by Alphonso in an air conditioned mini bus which was spacious and very comfortable. We headed off to Boulder City for breakfast at McDonalds where we told to order whatever we wanted ( included in the cost of the tour ) we then stopped at Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam for photos. From there we headed off on the long drive to the Grand Canyon ( with stops for restroom breaks ) - although it is a long drive Alphonso kept us all entertained with information and pointing out various landmarks along the way.We also stopped on Route 66 for a short time - long enough to stretch your legs and buy a few souvenirs etc.
The Grand Canyon is truly spectacular - well worth the long journey - Alphonso was a great guide - always ensuring that everyone was happy and taking photos for all of us.The walk itself is done at a leisurely pace so you don't need to be an Olympic athelete to do it - we had a great picnic lunch ( supplied by the company - HUGE deli sandwich, grapes, cheese and cookies ) at a really scenic spot. Alphonso knew all the best spots for great views and photos. I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to avoid the huge mass crowds - you really do get to see much more if you are walking with an experienced guide - you also get a chance to chat to the other people on your trip ( Hi to the Texas 3 and South Carolina 4 !!! ) which makes it more fun.
Well done Grand Adventures - a really memorable day out and great value for money!

We went on the Grand Canyon Sunset Tour on June 15th. Our fearless leader was George, and what a great trip it was. We knew when we got into the van that this was going to be a wonderful day. We were picked up at 9:45 am. The first stop was the Vegas sign, and then off to McDonald’s. George has one of the best personalities and worked wonderfully in bringing the whole group of 8 strangers together. The drive was nice, the in route movies were entertaining! The best part was feeling more then just a customer, honestly like a friend who was visiting! The weather, the laughs, Aunt Moe’s funny questions it was a wonderful memory and I highly recommend this tour. Thank you again.

We took an amazing tour with Darryl. If you are fortunate as us to have him as your guy, you will have the best time of your life. Darryl has truly gone beyond the call of duty. He would bend over backward to insure that you'll have a great time. Personally for me, he completely over saw from the minor details to the exact place for my proposal, I had the upmost faith in his judgement and he didn't disappoint! We love this guy so much that not only that we are going to do other tours, but every anniversary we are going back to the grand canyon! Oh and by the way, I'm sorry for blowing up your spot, but Darryl is one hell of a photographer! He really has an eye in capturing the right moments. Amazing!!!!! Highly recommended!!!!!!

We went on the Grand Canyon Walking Tour, by Grand-Adventures.com, on June 6th, 2009. We really enjoyed this tour. Starting with our guide, Alfonso, who was on time for all the pick-ups. He was friendly and nice. He spoke 3 languages (English, Spanish and French). Us, being French speaking, we switched back and forth in English and French. The walk along the south rim of the Grand Canyon was relaxing. Alfonso was flexible, letting us time to enjoy the great views. On the way to the Grand Canyon, we stopped in Seligman, an old litlle town, to see Old Route 66 - it very nice to see. We appreaciated the small group interactions - we were 9, plus the guide. We also liked the breakfast at McDonald's (we chose what we wanted) and the lunch (Arby's deli sandwiches, fruits, cheese and cookies). We were offered plenty of bottled water during the tour. We would definitely recommend this tour!

The day started with a prompt pick-up @ 9:00am at MGM Grand in Vegas. Heidi and I met Darryl (the owner) and George (a guide who just so happens to be a professional photographer), our tour guides. Little did we know, that by the end of the day, it would seem that we'd known each other for 20 years. We picked up the rest of the tour group, people from Scotland, England, Singapore, and New Jersey. Us being from Connecticut, it was nice to see the diversity of people on the tour. We all quickly became friends with one another.

On our way to the Hoover Dam/Grand Canyon, we stopped for breakfast (included in the tour) at one of the nicest McDonald's we've ever seen. Along the way, Darryl and George gave us all some history of Boulder City, Lake Mead, and the Hoover Dam. We stopped to view Lake Mead at a great vantage point. Arriving at the Hoover Dam, we stopped above the Dam, again from a great vantage point to take pictures and what have you.

Moving on down the road, we came to Historical Route 66---visited a few shoppes, one belonging to Angel Delgadillo, the man who put Route 66 back on the map (http://www.route66giftshop.com/main.html).

Now, Heidi (at the time my girlfriend), was unaware that I was planning to propose to her at the Grand Canyon. I'd mentioned it to George and Darryl to give them a head's up. Arriving at the Canyon, we began to walk along the South Rim (which is incredible), before stopping for a wonderful picnic lunch (provided by the tour).

We continued to walk for about a mile, when George came to me, pointed to an upcoming ledge of the canyon, and said, "If you're going to do it, that's where you should!" So I gathered myself, took Heidi out to the ledge, as the sun was shining down through the clouds. Everyone in the tour knew what was going on---and stood with cameras ready as I knelt down, and asked Heidi to marry me. She said, "Yes!" A big thank you to George for taking the most incredible picture of our lives.

There are many different tours that are available, but if you really want to get your money's worth out of a tour, there is no option. Go to www.grand-adventures.com and book it today. You can see the Grand Canyon with any tour, but if you want to EXPERIENCE it in it's beauty, and make life long friends along the way, George and Darryl will give you the most incredible experience of your life.

A very special thanks to Darryl and George for making this the best vacation we have ever been on in our lives. You are two in a million. I look forward to taking this tour with you guys again the next time we are out there!

Sincerely,
Justin & Heidi
