Reading previous reviews, it's almost like I saw a different show! I *loved* it. I'm no kid, have seen many shows -- on Broadway & off-, traveling versions, little theater, student productions. If I could chose just one to have seen in my life (so far ;-) ), it would be "The Producers"!
I never laughed so long & hard! I was actually tired, but so exhilarated I think I even bored my companion raving about different great bits, tho' he did enjoy it very much, too. When I noticed it ran 2 hours, w/o an intermission, I couldn't believe it--it was so fast-paced & bursting with activity, I can't imagine how the Broadway version could be better. I liked the movie, but this show is on a whole different level.
It's totally un-PC, dinging just about every group possible, so not for those offended by such, & while there is nothing "R", & there were many children in the packed house, I think young people wouldn't get most of the humor.
As well as the obvious 'targets' (it does feature "Springtime for Hitler", after all), there is, for just one example, a chorus-line of little old ladies using walkers! Things like that would normally bother me, but somehow, it was hilarious!
Sets, costumes, cast (I saw the Danza one, & had low expectations--who knew he is a fabulous dancer?). He was great, but the whole production has so many great aspects, I think even with a less talented lead, it would be terrific.
Pricey, yes (oh, how I miss the days when Vegas entertainment & restaurants were cheap), but there are many ways to get twofers. There was so much going on in this show, I think I may see it again next time I'm in Vegas, to catch all the secondary action I'm sure I missed.
