We stayted for a long weekend in mid-May 2009, and found the place to be just fantastic. We had our 9-year-old with us, and the pools were on par the best we've ever had... anywhere... and we've stayed at some really nice places over the years.
If you go, know that this is more of a 'condo' experience rather than a 'full service hotel experience'. For the price, we are more than happy to sleep in the same bed linens for a week and hang up our own towels. The kitchen in the larger Bora Bora rooms is just like home, and it's equipped with everything you need to cook for a small group. The free BBQ pit area just outside the building was a nice touch.
Don't plan on walking to the Strip, but if you've been to Vegas, you'll know that can be a bit of a walk once you are there anyway. The shuttle service is frequent and different shuttles land you at any of 6 stops... every 15-30 minutes! Last run just before 2am, I think. Again... free. Plan ahead - no worries.
Activities? Ask for Mike at the Concierge desk. He was just great! He advised us to spend $2 per person for the Red Rock Canyon tour, and he was right... the best $2 we spent in Vegas! The wildflowers were in bloom, and it was about 10 degrees cooler than in town.
As for the reports of stalker sales-people, they will only work you if you want something - if you bite on a promotion (low rate or free tickets), expect to spend up to 2 hours with them. This is what they deserve for giving you any deal you might want. We asked for nothing and weren't pestered even once.
We'll definitely be back.
