I've stayed at the Treasure Island several times and was always happy. However, a few years ago they re-branded the hotel as the "TI" and tried to sell to young adults rather than families. As part of this they took down the cool skull and crossbones sign and "upgraded" the original pirate battle to the new show "Sirens of TI".

Whereas the original pirate battle was fun and entertaining, "Sirens" is just about the worst show imaginable - cheesy and stupid. After reading reviews I didn't even bother to watch it on our last trip, but reluctantly decided to give it a try this trip. Sure enough the show is bad. Very bad.

The premise is that a ship full of sirens lure pirates aboard their ship with their singing and dancing. Yes, it's as bad as it sounds. It's obvious that some marketing guy in a suit thought it would be a good idea to have scantily clad women who dance around to popular music. Not really suitable for kids and not entertaining enough for adults. The only good part was one large fireball and a few fireworks.

I couldn't believe that a show this bad still had a large audience, but the place was packed. Since we were staying at the TI we got to stand in the roped off VIP area.

Stay away - It's not worth the time or the crowds.

“Boring, stupid, inane”

OIh, my goodness, what a waste of time. This show is laughably ludicrous. Cheap, cheesy, and a totally amateurish show.

The only reason most people go to see this show is because of the women in skimpy outfits, but even the outfits are pathetic and less than appealing.

It's better to go inside one of the casinos and watch the lounge waitresses.

Of course, what do you expect from a casino/hotel that insists on repeatedly calling itself "TI", because 'TI' sounds o much hipper than 'Treasure Island', just as 'KFC' sounds so much hipper than 'Kentucky Fried Chicken'.

I gave it a 2 out of 5 instead of a 1 out of 5 because the show was free. Cheesy is probably the best word to describe this show. Although I didn't expect much from a free show, this is definitely not worth your time. The actors and actresses just move their mouths over a prerecorded script and sometimes it's terribly off sync. The explosions are very hot depending on where you stand and can be quite uncomfortable when you're already standing in 90+ degree weather.

Having seen the original Pirate vs. the British Navy show at TI a few years ago, we thought it might be fun for our adult daughters to see while on their first visit to Vegas with us last week. The new show with the Sirens isn't nearly as entertaining as the original, but my daughter who hadn't seen the first one thought it was pretty good--what she could see of it. We went out about 15 minutes before it was due to start and the crowds were horrendous. If you weren't right up at the railing, or at the front of the roping on the step-up platform on the outside of the sidewalk you aren't going to see a whole lot. The pyrotechnics get oohed and ahhed, but even they can't save this show--and they make the already hot Vegas air even hotter. If you happen to stumble on it, watch it, but don't try schedule a special slot in your trip for it.

This has got to be one of the worst tourist traps ever. Do not waste your time standing around for this one. You will be very dissappointed.
