Just a quick background- we were in Vegas for a week and stayed in 4 different hotels: Hilton, Bellagio, Signature and JW Marriott Golf Resort (in that order).
You have to know that Signature at MGM Grand beat everyone else hands down! What an amazing hotel. It was a struggle to leave the place after our two days there. In fact, I don't think we'll ever want to stay in any other hotels again!
First of all the gated entrance made it feel special straight away. It doesn't have a casino, and is not located on the Strip which was such a relief after the chaos of Bellagio. The valet and bellboys were polite and professional, the check in desk friendly and professional, and the luggage was brought up seconds after we got in. We phoned concierge for an adaptor at 3am and got it in 2 minutes free of charge!
Next, THE ROOM... and what a room.. on the 32nd Floor overlooking the Strip with a balcony, a state-of-the-art kitchenette, LCD TV, comfy bed, lovely bathroom with a TV(!), separate toilet, nicest toiletries ever.. did I mention the view?
Unfortunately we didn't get to try the fitness room, spa, swimming pool or watch KA by Cirque du Soleil. We did however go to MGM Grand (connected by air-conditioned walkway), see the lions and tried the buffet for lunch (excellent). Last minute decided to see David Copperfield- quite cool, and rubbed shoulders with celebrities who were there on the weekend for the MTV Video Music Awards!
Cons? I thought the 15 dollar daily surcharge was unneccessary- why make it a surcharge when everybody has to pay it anyway? But who cares, this is Vegas where the total on the bill is always more than you think, and tips are compulsory! (80% of a waiter's earnings come from tips, we learned after asking around!)
You know, we might just make the 14 hour flight back to Vegas soon, just so we can stay at the Signature again!
