My husband and I just got back from LV and stayed at the Signature. It was our first time in LV, so for the first time visitors, if you are coming in on an evening flight during the week, and staying at the Signature, I would suggest taking a cab. It ends up being like $7.00. My husband and I waited for a shuttle bus for an hour, and finally talked another driver into taking us. The Signature itself gave off a great presentation with a gated entrance off of the strip. Unfortunately one of the bads things about our trip as well was dealing with a check in experience that wasn't great. We booked our trip through US Airways, and wasn't aware of the multiple fees that they charge you, eventhough you've already paid for everything in full. A manager was eventually able to resolve our issues, but after a long flight, and debating with the check in girl, and the smell of the lobby (which for some reason smells like an elderly mans favourite cologne), it was rough going in the beginning.
However, our room was amazing, PH tower 2. The area is under heavy construction so the view wasn't that great if you looked down, but in the a.m., with the sun coming up over the mountains...beautiful.
The Signature is lacking in some of the accomadations the other hotels boast about. There is no gambling, smoking, partying being done in the Signature. The good thing about the Signature is when you were done having fun and you wanted to unwind, it was perfect, but if you want to party and be part of the scene, prepare to travel.
As for food...Walgreens or CVS can provide some basic things that you can use in your suite to make it to a nice place to eat. If you can make it to the Bellagio...they have a Buffet that was wonderful at only $37.50/person!!! It'a all you can eat, and high end for an all you can eat place. We also visited a place named Peppermill at the other end to the Signature. It was great food, drinks and prices, and gave us an opportunity to hang out at the casinos at that end of town. The Peppermill is next door to the Riviera, and across from Circus Circus.
In conclusion, I would stay at the Signature again, and probably for longer, so I can experience more of LV...just bring more comfortable shoes...there is nothing worse than seeing ladies all dressed up and walking the strip barefoot, b/c they're feet hurt!!!!
