We've just returned from a 10 day stay at The Signature at MGM and it's been an amazing experience. A lot of things happened during our stay there, and not all good, but the way in which they resolved all problems was excellent and beyond all expectations.

Firstly after travelling 24 hours from Australia with barely any sleep we arrived at the clean and modern Tower 1 and check in was easy, professional and fast. Great first impression. We organised 2 rooms and the friendly bell boy took us all to the one room on the 30th floor which was lovely. We then went to our room on the 31st floor and it was unmade and full of crap from the previous guest. Not a great first impression. We rang them immediately and they assured us the room would be cleaned straight away. After waiting an hour in our friends room, we finally went down stairs and spoke to a manager. We discussed the fact that we had read reviews on Trip Advisor and although everyone acknowledged the fact that it's a beautiful hotel, there is definitely a real problem with housekeeping. We had decided to give the hotel a chance even after reading about the housekeeping issues and were very unimpressed and exhausted, and just wanted to go to sleep.

He apologised profusely and did state that he was aware of the reviews, and promised me that they were working on improving the housekeeping issues. We were then upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite on the 26th floor which was absolutely stunning. There was a full black marble kitchen with modern large fridge, dishwasher, stove, oven, insinkerator and all kitchenware. There was a huge loungeroom with flat screen TV and a guest bathroom. Then a separate large bedroom which had a stunning corner view of the strip. There was a built in flat screen TV in the desk which came up over the desk with the switch of a button. The bathroom was magnificent with separate his and hers counters with full amenities. The separate toilet was a nice touch. The shower was excellent (instant hot water) and the huge jacuzzi bathtub was a treat. There's also a 3rd TV in the bathroom, should you miss it that much.

Even though we were very appreciative of the upgrade and we felt very lucky indeed, sadly we noticed a lot of fingerprints on all the bathroom doors, the tap to the bath was broken off and sitting next to the other tap. My husband picked up a towel in the guest bathroom to dry his hands and it was in fact dirty from previous guests and put back on the towel rail. (Yucky). There was hair in the shower and finger prints on the lamp next to the bed. We did complain downstairs and the manager sent up the housekeeping manager to inspect the room and they did fix everything completely. The next day my husband brought me a cup of tea in bed and I spilt a drop of milk on the bedside table. I noticed that in the entire 10 days we were there the milk was never wiped up!!

In summary it's a gorgeous hotel, not too far away from all the action, but far enough from the noise and the smoke. The staff are very friendly and attentive. It's just such a shame that the housekeeping staff just don't care. None of the staff that I came across in our room, or in the hallway could understand any English, and they seemed to be very disinterested. Simple training and supervision should ensure that these basic mistakes and lack of thoroughness could be avoided. Surely there must be a simple communication between housekeeping and the front desk that would only release rooms after they're made up?? For new staff ,a housekeeping supervisor should inspect all rooms when they're done until that cleaner is deemed well trained enough.

This one flaw in such a beautiful hotel could really damage their business.

Everything was flawless. The staff was outstanding, the room was comfortable and lovely. One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. It was my very first trip to Vegas and was by myself--headed to a convention. Nothing wrong with the location, probably about a 10 minute walk over to the MGM Grand where it was easy to catch a monorail. I was nervous about a solo first time trip to Vegas but couldn't have been more comfortable.

Only issues: It is a little cheap for them to add a required 'resort fee' of $15. I wish they would just add this on to the room rate--seems just a bit tacky, for lack of a better word.

  • Liked — attentitve, friendly staff
  • Disliked — $15 resort fee--I would have probably just paid it as part of the rate overall, but didn't like that it was tacked on as a surprise of sorts.

We have just returned from a 5 Night stay at The Signature from 6th to 11th May 2008.

This hotel without doubt is the best Hotel we have ever stayed in and deserves it's 5 Star Luxury status.

We booked through Virgin Holidays and having done extensive research on websites such as Trip Advisor / Expedia etc, I was fully prepared to have to pay the $15 per day charge for the water, newspaper, coffee, gym etc, but upon arrival we were informed that this was not applicable as it had been covered in the cost of our Holiday through Virgin. Incidentally we received our newspaper, coffee, water every day without fail.

We arrived and were greeted by friendly bell staff who carried our cases through to Reception and offered us cold bottles of water whilst we waited at Reception. As it turned out we did not have to wait at Check in and were greeted immediately.

We were given our room keys etc and I had requested a high floor with view of the Strip. We proceeded to our 1 Bedroom Suite on the 34th Floor of Tower 2 and had a very lovely view across Vegas to one side and a partial Strip view from the balcony. Due to the ongoing construction work I think the Strip view has been slightly reduced from some rooms.

When we entered the room it exceeded our expectations. The lounge area was lovely with a sofa and table / chairs. A large Flat Screen TV was situated in a tasteful built in cabinet. The kitchen was fully equipped with good quality modern utensils and Fridge, cooker, microwave etc - not that we used any of this - apart from the coffee machine.

The bedroom was great with a large comfortable King Bed. The i-pod docking station / alarm clock was a great extra thing to have.

The bathroom was huge with a Jacuzzi bath for 2 people and a big walk in glass surround shower.

I must also point out that the houskeeping was excellent. I was a bit concerned about this having read many of the reviews, but each morning before we left the room at around 10am we switched the green light for house keeping on and when we came back to the room mid afternoon, the houskeeping had been done. There is an option of a red button for do not disturb and we noticed many of the rooms did not switch on either light. Perhaps some of the people in the below reviews did not switch their housekeeping light on and hence may not have received housekeeping.

The walk way through to the MGM took about 10-15 mins and was no issue at all. Being in vegas you have to accept that you will be doing a lot of walking due to the sheer size of the Hotels and Casino's.

We were pleased we chose the Signature due to it being being seperate from the main MGM Complex. It was all non smoking and very quiet. As a previous reviewer stated - like an oasis in the hustle and bustle of vegas.

We found all Staff to be very friendly and attentive. We used the Concierge to book show tickets and nothing was too much trouble.

We could not fault the Hotel in any way and would certainly stay here again if we ever returned to vegas - 10/10

OK, let's start with this...I hate Las Vegas...and always have. However my partner convinced me to go and put me in charge of finding a hotel. I found this one on Expdia not knowing what to expect. WOW! I loved this hotel. To begin with, it is smoke free and a non gaming hotel. No slot machines anywhere in sight! We were greeted by a very pleasant staff and whisked into an absolutely lovely lobby, which looked brand new. Then we went up to our room which was so well appointed, and really spacious, as well as beautiful. I was very impressed with all of the amenities in the room. There is a stove, refrigerator, DVD player, microwave and everything you need to camp out in your hotel room for the weekend! You don't even need to leave the room, and frankly, I didn't want to as I was pretty happy there. The pools were gorgeous and the food was really delcious, I mean delicious. The wait staff by the pool was on the spot and very kind. I felt like I was at a Tuscon resort or something, it was just fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who does not like the glitz of Vegas, and who enjoys peace and quiet amidst all of the craziness that is Vegas. I will definitely be back...soon.

We go to Vegas every year, and this was our first time at the Signature. There is a separate gated driveway to the Towers and each tower had it's own valet and bell staff. Our bags were brought up promptly and throughout our entire stay we never had to wait for the valet.

Our suite was clean and well appointed and overall a great value. The shower was spacious with great pressure. We are not light packers, and the closet held our Vegas wardrobe nicely. When we called for extra hangers, housekeeping brought them right away and the front desk called to double check, which we appreciated.

We were in Tower 3 which is the farthest from the MGM. However, we are in pretty good physical shape so we did not mind the walk and probably made it (back and forth) 4 to 6 times per day. We enjoyed stopping at the lounge in Tower 1, the staff was friendly and it was a great place to gear up or wind down.

Tower 1 has the best pool if you like getting sun. The other two pools are more on the shady side. We also took advantage of the MGM Lazy River and we enjoyed that as well. Warning...the tube rental is 16 dollars per day!

We love the Vegas action, but like to stay in a place where we can escape from the sensory overload, and sleep soundly in a comfy, comfy bed. The Signature was perfect for us. We will be back. The only complaint we had was that the staff would sometimes say our room number and last name out loud when we were charging items to our room, which is a security issue in my opinion.

  • Liked — quaility for the money, the bed, the location
  • Disliked — I had to leave when my trip was over.
