I have been to LV multiple times staying mostly in hotels along the Strip. This last trip, I stayed in Red Rock with couple of girlfriends for a relaxing weekend. Our stay was great!

Here are what I considered plus factors of RR: Room: rate was low (thanks to my local friend), clean, smells good, nice amenities, comfortable beddings, spacious; Pool: big and very inviting; Buffet: considerable selection of food; Cafe: heavenly dessert; Cherry's Club: shorter line compared to other clubs along the Strip, plus girls get in for free!; Spa: free use since we were staying in the hotel; free newspaper; hotel staff: nice and courteous.

I just wish that they have a coffee maker in the room and a better wireless service.

Will definitely stay in this hotel in the future.

My wife and I have been going to Las Vegas for many years and no longer feel the need to stay on the strip since we found this gem. We started coming out to this "locals" hotel in Summerlin (about 15 minutes from the strip via 215.) because of their great steakhouse called T Bones. We started gambling there each night we ate at the steakhouse and soon we started getting great room deals and casino rates. The pool area is fantastic with extremely comfortable lounges and a great place to have an outdoor lunch and play pooolside blackjack. You can call for your car from the room and it is waiting when you get to the lobby. Never a line at check-in since it not that large a resort. The rooms are modern with flat screen TV's in the bedroom and the bathroom. You'll love this place.

Family reunion ruined by Red Rock

We had been planning a family reunion for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary for many months. We had 4 families all traveling from afar to stay at the Red Rock. My sister arrived first and secured her room and my parents' room. An hour later, my brother and I showed up with our families. We were told that they overbooked and had to move us to a Marriott "just down the road" that was suppose to be of "equal caliber" as the Red Rock. We saw them tell other bewildered families the same story. Red Rock's management was vague about why we were being moved, but what I pieced together is a large convention was coming in and they were giving away our rooms to conventioneers. They even said that they didn't know of the "problem" until this week, and admitted that we place our reservation well in advance of the convention being booked. But, the conventioneers came first in their eyes. They couldn't tell us why they didn't contact us prior to our arrival to let us know of this problem, to allow us to find other accommodations. So, my brother and I went to the Marriott. It was NOT right down the road. It took 15 minutes to get there from the Red Rock. It was NOT EVEN CLOSE to being at the same luxury level as the Red Rock. It's like comparing a 5 star hotel to a 3 star. It was filled with an over-70 crowd. It was horrible. Our family reunion was ruined, as two families were in a different hotel than the other two. Our kids were heartbroken.
So, if you want to take your chances and book this hotel, I hope they honor your reservation but you might not want to take the chance and instead head out to a luxury hotel on the strip. I was a repeat customer at the Red Rock, but sadly, I can't allow myself to ever return to this place.

Honestly, I never had any desire to visit Las Vegas. I was "wowed" by the accomodations. Sightseeing was not an option, although I did step over to the GORGEOUS pool area for about 15 minutes to take a break from our work. The room was SO beautiful and plush! I was in awe of the marble bathroom with both the walk-in shower AND the wonderful tub with flat-panel television. The beds were comfy and I enjoyed opportunities to retire to my room for absolute comfort between duties. The variety of restaurants, including the buffet-style feast, were very reasonable and quick to serve. I would LOVE to go back with my husband for a leisure trip.
The water provided in the lobby and spa areas were a welcome respite from the heat in mid-June, but I highly advise packing your lip balm! A trip to the gift shop to ease my chapped lips cost me $8.00!
