My sister and I usually go to Las Vegas every year in May for Monday-Friday trip. In the past, we've stayed at Treasure Island, The Mirage, but usually at Mandalay Bay, which we absolutely love. This year, we decided to try something different, "off the strip" and when we saw that The Red Rock offered a free shuttle to the airport and the strip, we decided to try it.

The rooms were beautiful, the pool area was really nice and not crowded. The food at the buffet was good and the Bar B Que restaurant was excellent. There are some expensive restaurants there, but there are enough reasonably priced places to eat, as well as a "food court." They also have movie theaters and bowling alleys.

The casino area was bright and the air wasn't smokey, even when you were next to a smoker. The slots were pretty good and we were able to play for a while without losing a lot of money. There are so many penny machines!! We took a shuttle to the strip one day, and were really disappointed with the slot machines at the casinos we went to on the strip.

The only things we didn't like was the timing of the airport shuttle and the $21.75 per day casino fee. Our plane got into Las Vegas at 2:00 p.m., so we missed the 2 p.m. shuttle, and had to wait 2 hours. Our plane left Las Vegas at 6 a.m. and we had to be at the airport at 4 a.m. There are no shuttles at that time but the bell desk arranged for us to have a sedan take us to the airport, which was cheaper than a taxi would have been (wonderful!) Just make sure you leave your name with the bell desk the day before your flight.

“Awesome stay at Red Rocks!”

Great hotel for about $100 a night (not including their turn down fee). I didn't take any better pictures than are already available on previous posts but they don't do it justice. The pool is awesome but drinks are pricey--beers about $7 and mixed about $9+. The rooms are a very good size and the bed is extremely comfortable, not to mention a good size flat panel TV and another in the bath. I'd say its the among the nicest accomodations I've experienced anywhere and we've also spent time in Luxor and TI in Vegas. We found the staff very courteous and helpful. However, make certain not to dial out using the room phone, even locally as it will cost you $2.50 per connection. We found out the hard way, when we checked out. We even asked for a fridge to be brought up to the room which was complimentary.

Be sure to rent a car though if you plan on going anywhere away from the resort. Red Rocks park is about 5 minutes away and is a great place to sight see offers some great hiking and a scenic 13 mile drive.

Food in the food court is OK--Burger joint is expensive, and mexican was just OK and the Feast (buffet) was over rated. We heard good reviews and it is marginally cheaper compared to most on the strip but we found it lacking. It wasn't awful by any means but I wouldn't recommend it either.

Pretty much everything else has already been covered but overall we had no complaints and had a great time.

“Excellent VIP treatment for the young successful type”

Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa

I have never heard of this place until a friend told me about it. The Red Rock Hotel and Spa was recommended with such exclusive repertoire that I flew into Las Vegas with doubts about my choice to stay there. Luckily I have fantastic friends whom knew that I would love the first class VIP rooms overlooking the strip. The rooms were way under priced spending only $600 a night I had my own large private living room separate to my own marble bathroom and lush inviting bedroom. My room was divided from others with it's own VIP elevator, concierge service, complimentary fresh fruit, breakfast, and paper in the morning. Mornings were good but at night is where the Red Rock really shines. It doesn't matter if you are playing at the tables, going to there clubs (which were a bachelor's dream), or going to dinner with new friends from the clubs the Red Rock treats VIPs' like they should be treated. There was no waiting in lines for anything. Overall I rate my experience to be the best hotel experience I have ever had. The Terra Rosa has chocolate lava cake that can make a grown man cry it's so good. The pool is huge and the VIP treatment is the best I have ever had with spending so little. This will be the hotel I choose to stay at when I return to Las Vegas. That lava cake was so good!

STAY HERE ON YOUR NEXT VEGAS TRIP!!!!

This is my 2nd time to Vegas, and I stayed on the Strip last year. This year, I wanted a more quiet getaway as we did not plan on seeing shows or shopping this time.

We had just missed the free shuttle and in lieu of waiting 2 hours, got a sedan to take us out - it was $70

We checked in at noon and our room was ready. We had a standard room and it was awesome! Bed was so comfy!!! AMAZING Bathroom!!!!!

We planned on bowling and going to the movies and playing bingo, but never had the chance so I can't comment on those activities.

The Pool area is AWESOME!!!!! We walked around the area, but actually hung out at Cherry's pool - it was more intimate. Just a note: topless is allowed at this pool.

We ate at the BBQ - really good food, but GIGANTIC portions!! Terra Rossa was really good. The sushi restaurant came highly recommended, but we never got there. The Grand Cafe has ok food, but found the service to be not so hot.
The Mexican place in the food court was not good, but Villa Pizza was really good and Fatburgers was just ok.
The Feast Buffet was really good provided you don't wait in line. There were l-o-n-g lines Sun and Mon, but none on Tuesday so we ate there that day.

The bar in the lobby is a neat place to drink and chill out and people watch. We weren't there when Cherry was open - I had wanted to go there.

The elevators come really fast - a nice change of pace from last year's experience at NYNY.

We took the free shuttle back to the airport.

I cannot wait to stay here again - it was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in.

This resort is amazing. I liked the new and clean room. All techy, in room amenities, 42in LCD tv, great work station and amazing bathroom, yeah the tub (separate from shower) has its own LCD tv.

The price was great compared to those other LAS 4 star resorts. Spa access (steam, sauna, jacuzzis etc), fitness complex are included. The pools, no shortage on this side, it has at least 7 pools. So plenty of room to move around in the pool area if you want to be by yourself or get to main pool and meet others.

Yeah the drive is around 15 mins from strip, but once you check in there is no big reason to drive out of there....also there are many other restaurants within 2-4 min drive.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Within resort there are high end restaruants, your typical food court ones, plus bars and bowling lanes.

Definitely a great value!
