I agree with many of the comments on Tripadvisor. Overall, I had a good experience and found the staff very helpful and pleasant. The bed was supremely comfortable and the room was very quiet and could be made totally dark at night--something important to me. I did not use the pool facilities or visit the casino. The food was of reasonable quality. The view from my room was magnificent. The long hallways were good for my health!
One or two things I didn't like, although these tend to be matters of personal taste:
--The walls in the room were painted dark brown. Even with multiple incandescent lights I couldn't get it light enough at night; indeed I was hard pressed to find stuff in my suitcase. I found this color quite depressing, although I believe it is currently fashionable.
--The carpets in the common areas are designed to mimic waves or sand dunes. They are too realistic! People in our group complained of feeling seasick or drunk!
--There are no coffee pots in the room. This maybe because there is a Starbucks in the hotel or because they feel that at these prices you can afford to pay $13.00 for a 3-cup room -service pot. I called to request a coffee pot. I was told that they were all in use by other guests, but that when one was available it would be delivered to my room. I never got one. This alone would deter me from staying there again, as I love my early morning coffee.
--It is quite hard to find the hotel bus at the airport--the directions they give you are not explicit enough. The bus is not all that frequent, and I was told by others that a taxi cost around $60.00.
I hope the hotel will find way to address these issues, as it is really a very nice place, if a bit far out.

“Awful Service”

Arrived very late on Valentine's day 2008 after long drive. The lady at check in assigned us a room with two beds and told us that the King wasn't available. We really needed a romantic break but the lady made no attempt to make it up to us. She could have offered anything to compensate but offered nothing. And I was sorry to say that she appeared to enjoy our disappointment.

I usually don't write reviews, but after reading "beevcat"s review, I thought I'd add my two cents. I also booked a Signature Suite and came away deeply disappointed.
My wife and I booked a Signature Suite from Christmas Eve through the 27th. We really looked forward to "Christmas in Vegas" and when we first arrived, we were extremely impressed. The Parking and Bell staff were some of the most friendly and efficient I had ever seen. When we went to check-in at the main desk we were told that since we had a suite, we could use the VIP check-in. There we were given coffee and tea as we waited for check-in. It seemed all would be great.
We got up to our room about 6pm and figured we had a lot of time before dinner. So a quick soak in the jacuzzi was in order. But just as in beevcat's review, our jacuzzi didn't work. For the next hour and a half we played phone tag trying to get this resolved. We finally got the night manager involved. He was sympathetic to our problem and made sufficient resolution to the problem. He also promised us a different room in the morning so we could enjoy Christmas hassle free.
We repacked everything on Christmas morning and were told that bell service would move everything to our new room. Everything would be set by 1pm. At one o'clock we checked with VIP services and were told the new room still wasn't ready, come back at 3pm.
Well, to make a long story short, it wasn't. In fact, another room wasn't available. We tried getting this resolved with a VIP services representative, but were told it wasn't his job to resolve problems. We asked to see the manager again and were told, "I can't leave this area to get him." After 20 minutes of arguing with this guy he made the comment, "I shouldn't be helping you, cause your not really VIPs, your just plane customers."
That did it!! Does that mean "plane customers" aren't worth the trouble???
We finally did get a manager involved again and again the manager did make significant resolution. But we much rather have had a hassle-free Christmas than the comp amount.

“Loved the hotel...and that's about it”

Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa

So if you book this room via discount travel website (Hotwire, Priceline) expect to be treated as such at this resort. The resort itself was phemonenal - the rooms were one of the best we've stayed in with its flat screen TVs in the room and bathroom, great shower/bathtub, and the bed was incredibly comfortable!! The Feast buffet was outstanding and the hotel is truly impressive.

BUT!! The service - not so wonderful. We were told that a King room was available but we were sent up to the 19th floor, ALL THE WAY DOWN THE HALL TO THE OTHER END OF THE HOTEL (elevators are only to one end of the hotel, NOT the middle, so if you have trouble walking long distances you do not want to stay at this property unless you are in a wheelchair), only to discover that they gave us two queens. For an hour we kept trying to call the front desk but after the first front desk employee talk to us, she put us on hold and sent us back to the operator. After that, our call kept being sent directly to the hotel operator and and the front desk never called us back, even after the operator assured us she sent them an email message. We felt completely ignored by the front desk staff. I guess they felt that the discount price we we paid for the room deserved discount treatment.

Also, the resort fee of $25 a night was a joke. The spa was closed, so the one thing we were interested in wasn't even available.

All told, if you are looking for luxury, this is the place to go and you have money to spend for good service. If you find a deal online for a room rate, beware of snobby staff at the front desk. All other staff seemed very nice such as the valet, bell staff, and food staff.....but then again they don't have access to room rate information so they had no reason not to be nice to us.

“Fabulous Red Rock!!”

Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa

Feb 11, 2008
8/10 found this review helpful

I read reviews before going from everywhere. Was worried due to mix reviews but many of them were from when hotel first opened (currently hotel is 2 years old). I also noticed in every circumstance of unhappiness the hotel offered a reasonable solution but many of the complainers didn't take them up on the solution or still unhappy. My opinion is that sometimes things go wrong but if an effort is made to solve the unhappiness is acceptable. Many hotels don't even try but the Red Rock does. This is a fabulous hotel/resort. It has everything and the service was wonderful!!! Everyone was helpful, polite and went out of there way to serve us. The rooms are large, comfortable and great views. Extremely comfortable beds/linens. 2 plasma TVs (one in room the other over the marble bath tub). The bathroom is gigantic. The bose music system in great. Limited electirical outlets. I use my lap top in early mornings to read news, usually in bed with coffee. There is no outlet at the beds. Next time I will make sure I charge my laptop when arrive. The restaurants are wonderful! The meal at the mexican restaurant was large enough for two. As usuall anywhere in vegas, plan on a line for the buffet. If you have kids you will love the pools, theatres, bowling, arcade, spa adventure trips. If you are 21-40 you will love the night clubs and gambling. If you are 50 and over you will love the comforts and the relaxation but might be a bit annoyed by the loud music at the lobby area to give this a young exciting atmosphere. It bothered my husband but not me. I like the excitement of casinos and this was nothing compared to the chaos and noise at the hotels on the strip.
Tips: Grab complimentary water and apples in lobby on check in. Ask for a room between elevator and the middle of the floor. This way you are not too far from elevators and you have a great view. I like the view of the red rock from the panoramic windows. If you want to spend time on the strip be sure to get a rental car. It is 11 miles to strip. We valet parked at central location then did walking and monorail of strip. Use the spa facilities even if you are not having a service. Don't get angry about the extra $22 resort fee, just consider this as part of your room cost. I will definately stay here again and recommend it to everyone.
