My husband and I were married at the Mandalay Bay Wedding Chapel in October 2008. The chapel was great! The minister was terrific! We were able to write our own vows, which was very important to us. The most important aspect was the photography. I contacted Cashman Pro, the photographer company, several months prior to our wedding, as I was interested in seeing the photographer's portfolio. I was given the name of the our photographer; I contacted him asking to see his portfolio and never received a response. I tried contacting the photographer several times and never received a response. About a month before our wedding I contacted the company again, explaining I had never heard back from the photographer and was sent a generic Mandalay Bay wedding photographer brochure. I was not thrilled by the brochure and asked if I could set up a meeting with the photographer the day before our wedding. I met with our photographer, James, the day before our wedding to go over specifically what I wanted and what I didn't want. He wasn't taking any notes but figured our wedding was just the next day so he may be able to remember my requests. We had the Diamond Lights package which came with the extra hour of photography. We walked around with the photographer and he asked us to pose in some of the pictures I had explained I did not like in the meeting I had with him. I did not stress about it as it was our wedding day and I was enjoying our day. When we went to look at our photos we struggled to get the 40 some photos included in our package. I was so disappointed with the quality of the photographs. It was clear he didn't pay attention to anything I had said and requested in our meeting. I was almost in tears because the photos were so important to me. Many of our photos had shadows, the lighting was off, the blocking of the shot was poor (not acceptable in professional photos). My husband says my standard and expectations are a bit high... but that is why I met with the photographer the day before to go over my expectations and specific requests. I was most disappointed that I had taken the time to meet with the photographer and made it clear how important the photographer was and it was evident he was just meeting with me to appease me. Other than the photographer pretty much everything was good.
The other aspect that is worth mentioning is our reception at Lupo. We had about 50 people and didn't want to have a set catering menu; we wanted our guests to be able to order off the regular menu. Lupo was the only restaurant in Mandalay Bay willing to do this for us. It was great! The manager, Johnnie, was so amazing and so was the staff. I would highly recommend Lupo!

My husband and I just got married at The Wedding Chapel on 3/13/09. We're locals and booked the chapel almost a full 10 months before our wedding day after researching other chapel options on the Strip. Some of the packages are pricier than at other properties, but we thought the Opal Shores package was a good deal. We were willing to pay more for a beautiful venue and first class service. (We were also able to provide personalized wedding vows which I don't know if all the Strip wedding chapels will let you do.)

Our tastes are more modern and simplistic and the three chapels hit the nail on the head - beautifully decorated, clean design, warm colors, and NO cheesy painted ceilings or tacky murals. We had over 90 guests and had to pay the $250 premium for the Platinum Chapel. We received many compliments from our guests about the chapel though - people were impressed!

Our wedding coordinator, Angela DeCosmo, was wonderful! (I know she's been called out on this site before for her great work and I want to add to the kuddos.) She always responded to my emails promptly, answered all of our questions (even the dumb ones), and even helped us with our room accommodations. Most importantly, Angela had great enthusiasm and a positive spirit about the whole process - you can tell she enjoys what she does and wants your wedding to be the best in can be.

If I had to complain about anything, it would be the photography. Some of the poses the photographer has you do after the ceremony are pretty cheesy and the framing of the images wasn't that great (parts of heads getting cut off, images not centered, etc.) And all the paperwork said photography after the ceremony was supposed to last 15 minutes but he wanted us to go for close to 45. (I told him no as we had a schedule - and other photographers - to keep.) We had hired another photographer for "pre-game", "post-game", and reception shots so we weren't concerned about buying the Mandalay Bay proofs as our photogs were awesome. Their photographers try to get you to buy a "special" $1300 package with your proofs, some framed pictures, a large canvas, etc. If you aren't hiring an outside photographer, then I guess the cost is worth it.

We were very pleased with our experience - the minister, wedding coordinator, flowers, and venue were all excellent. Remember to ask for Angela and you'll have a great experience. Good luck!

We LOVED our wedding. We looked around at at least a dozen different hotels and thought Mandalay had best deal and even looked better then many other places. The silver chapel we were married in was beautiful, the dressing room for both the bride and groom was perfect, the pianist was perfect, the minister was wonderful and did exactly when we wanted and even came to speak to both me and the groom prior to the ceremony. The photographer was the best. BUT, BE PREPARED TO DISH OUT A LOT OF MONEY FOR THE PHOTOS!!! We upgraded to the extra hour and additional 32 photos. The next day when seeing the pictures could not pick just 32. We could not bare to leave any behind and bought the copyrights and ALL the pictures. The package came with all 240 pictures prints, a pictures DVD w/music, 2 beautiful silver 8X10 picture frames, 1 20X24 Canvas or watercolor, 2 16X20 canvas or watercolor, back up picture CD and original picture CD w/ full copyrights and a 6X8 soft cover magazine style booklet for $2,201.00. VERY pricey but worth every penny. The only negative was our wedding coordinator. We read review prior to booking stating do not use Alyssa as a coordinator and what happened...WE WERE ASSIGNED ALYSSA! She was very nice at first, but it went sharply down hill. She was delayed on returning phone calls and emails, we would have to pull answers out of her, misplaced out paperwork a month prior to the wedding resulting in her supervisor contacting us asking why we never turned in the required paper work. Then, the worst happened, she misplaced the paper work we got from the marriage bureau!!! In the bag given to us after the wedding she had some one else information in our bag. We had their info delivered to them, but Alyssa could not locate our paperwork. We know mishaps do and will take place and were not too upset about the situations, but got a horrible attitude from Alyssa when we questioned her about the error. She wanted nothing to do with us since our wedding was over (and we think also because we did not tip her hugely since we felt she did not deserve it). She did not apologize for the mistake and kept dishing out the attitude and when questioned her further. We finally had to go up to our room in the hotel and call her supervisor who seemed to straighten things up. We still have no regrets with booking The Chapel at the Mandalay Bay but wish we had requested a change in coordinators when we discovered who our coordinator was.

My husband and I got married at THE chapel in Mandalay Bay on August 08, 2008. I would definitely recommend this site for anyone planning a Las Vegas wedding. I researched all the chapels in and around the strip hotels for hours; I really wanted our ceremony to be beautiful and classy and not cheap or cheesy looking. The chapel at Mandalay Bay fulfilled all my expectations and then some.

We were placed in the Silver Chapel. There are the silver, the gold, and the platinum chapel- which holds groups large than 50. We did walk through and look at all three chapels and were glad that we happened to be in the Silver Chapel. It seemed to have a bit more dramatic entrance for the bride, as the walkway had an angled turn ,before the straight walk down the aisle. The other chapels had a short straight walk directly down the aisle. The chapel was beautiful; the pictures of it on the hotel website do not do it justice. The colors in the decor gave a warm, golden feel, very classy. All of our guests remarked that the chapel was so much better than they were expecting. I really couldn't wish for a more beautiful indoor setting for our marriage.

The officiant was fabulous. The ceremony was simple, but did include a short poem, and he did such a great job with it. I was worried that it would be too basic and they would rush us through, but this was not the case. The ceremony was very meaningful and beautifully done.

The photos were taken throughout the ceremony and for about half an hour after. The photographer did capture some pretty great images, but be prepared to be dragged around even outside in the Vegas heat, for a while. We did end up purchasing an additional photo package, as the photos included in our wedding package were quite limited. Very Expensive!

The brides and grooms waiting rooms are a very nice touch, the perfect place to wait. Be prepared to have someone hold any items that you bring, because you can't leave anything behind in these rooms.

Overall, I would say our experience at the Mandalay Bay wedding chapel was everything that we hoped for. I wouldn't change anything.

I was married at the Mandalay Bay Gold Chapel in July 2008. It was absolutely perfect for what I wanted and turned out amazing. We had a total group of 16 and the size of the chapel was perfect. The chapel itself is beautiful, and did not look anything like a funeral home as my mother was fearing. As others have said the photos were outstanding and the professionalism of the staff day-of was top-notch. I had the platinum sky package. The flowers were beautiful, everyone complimented them throughout the day. Half of my guests were Spanish and they were able to arrange for translation during the ceremony. The included dinner at Shanghai Lilly was also awesome, the food was great and the staff had everything down like clockwork. The suite included in the package is the 600 ss suite at Mandalay Bay. It was spacious, good closet space, and the tub was great as well. I got my hair at make-up done at A Robert Cromeans Salon and it came out great. I would highly recommend them. Price for med-length hair + makeup was was about $200.

The only thing I would really recommend is to verify verify verify all the details with your wedding planner/the hotel/restaurants. For example: My wedding planner had the wrong time for the ceremony, it was 6:30pm and all her correspondence stated 6pm. Also, my hotel reservation was canceled due to no deposit, which I found out when I tried to check in...after it had been verified with the planner. Lastly, the reservation at Shanghai Lilly was apparently never made. I happened to call to verify the time...and found out there was no reservation. With that said, the staff at Mandalay Bay was great and fixed any issues immediately. The wedding turned out perfect and I would highly recommend them.
