“A pastrami lover's paradise”

Carnegie Deli at the Mirage

Apr 15, 2008

My husband and I stopped by the Mirage on Monday evening to go to The Carnegie Deli. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and my husband got a hamburger. The hamburger was nothing special but my sandwich sure was! I ordered the sandwich on rye w/melted swiss and could only eat half of it because threre was so much pastrami. The cost for my sandwich was $15.45 and it was well worth it. If you are in the area and are looking for a delicious pastrami sandwich this is a place you'll want to visit.

Two of us visited the Mirage Carnegie Deli in July, 2007. We expected a high price for an average sandwich, since it was in the casino near the Sports Book. We were pleasantly surprised !
The cost was very reasonable - about $ 11.99 for each sandwich - but they were HUGE and really tasted good. The sandwiches were stacked HIGH and were more than enough. I was very hungry but could only eat half of my sandwich. The menu had about 12 cold sandwiches and 3 or 4 hot ones. I had a pastrami and my friend had roast beef. We were both very satisfied. We also had a potato dish which was very good. During the afternoon hours the line to be seated is long. However, we went there about 9:00 pm and only had to wait a couple of minutes. If you go to the Mirage, visit this deli !

“Even Our Seven Year-Old Thought it was the Worst Restaurant Ever”

There is nothing good about this restaurant - cheese blintzes deep fried and filled with cake mixture rather than cheese, a dry cheese burger covered with a slice of barely-melted processed cheese, over priced (our waiter claimed that they charged for everything because "the owner is Jewish" - he then told us that the restaurant owner had told the wait staff to say this - we are Jewish and found it mildly offensive), definitely our worst dining experience in over 12 years of visiting Las Vegas. Our seven year-old son couldn't have put it better.

“DON'T EXPECT ANYTHING GREAT AT CARNAGIE DELI”

Carnegie Deli at the Mirage

While the MIRAGE HOTEL is wonderful, the venue of Carnagie deli is the worst. We went to have a late dinner, they are open until 2am, and we were there about 930pm. They "claim" they serve breakfast all day...well, if that is the case, it was the same breakfast they had served in the morning. The eggs were rubbery and the sausage was burned and like jerky. My cheese blintzes were deep fried! I have never seen such a thing and I have been enjoying blintzes my whole life. These blintzes were deep fried and cake-like on the inside. Pathetic! Our waiter didn't seem to care, wouldn't return the food and left us a check for the full amount, even though we could not eat the meal, no adjustment and worst of all, no apology. We mentioned it to the greeter who seemed nonplussed by our concern. It could have been the perfect end of our evening, but instead, this meal was a disaster. I would like to say I would give them another chance, but that won't be the case. There are plenty of other choices to dine, and they will likely be a much better place to go. They probably won't even miss my business, but hopefully, others will read this honest review and avoid Carnagie at the Mirage Las Vegas, and perhaps then, they will miss the business of others.

The service was awful, too.

Went to the Carnegie for bite after a show one night. There was a short line, but it moved along in a timely fashion. My wife and I split a "Woody Allen" which is pastrami and corned beef on rye and an order of fries. The sandwiches are HUGE!! There was enough food to feed three or four people easy. There was a ton of meat and more bread would have been nice. There is an additional $3 charge if you want to split a sandwich. I've never heard of such a thing. The fries were good and the dill pickles that came with were tasty too. Our waiter was good. There were a lot of other items on the menu and other people were getting some good looking plates too. They have a take out counter, there too which is nice. I'd go back again.
