My wife and I spent a week at the Marriott Grand Chateau in mid January 2008. Although we enjoy Las Vegas, we do not smoke or gamble, and therefore, this was a great place for us. This is a time share property, not a hotel, so you can expect what a time share, particularly a Marriott time share offers, i.e., a non-smoking facility, no casino, a family friendly environment (e.g., iced water with lemon or orange always available in the lobby, cookies in the afternoon, MAZE kids club on site, etc.). The rooms are large and well appointed; we enjoyed watching the sunsets from our room as the lights came up on the city. Also, the living room featured a 42" LCD television with 95 channels and a DVD player.
The place is new and in some areas still under construction, so it looks great, and it is very clean and nice. But don't expect daily maid service unless you want to pay extra, and don't expect many of the usual hotel features, like a spa or restaurants, as neither are on site. But, you do get complimentary valet parking that is fast, friendly and efficient, and the location, 1 block off the Strip across the street from Planet Hollywood, and 2 blocks from the Bellagio, is great. There is a workout facility on site, a roof-top pool and hot tub (we did not use them as it was cold and windy while we were there, but the view from the roof, 37 stories above the desert, is not to be missed), and a roof top bar that is open during the warm months. And, with a friendly and efficient staff that takes care of your needs consistent with the location (i.e., concierge service is available on site, but room service is not), this is a great place to stay in Vegas.
