We just returned from a weekend in Las Vegas, and had chosen Fleur de Lys as our one nicer dinner for the weekend. We live in Chicago, and have had the good fortune to eat at some of the most high end restaurants in the city, so were looking forward to a similar experience. Unfortunately it was not even close to those experiences. Some of the biggest problems: the wait staff was inattentive. (The most attentive person was the busboy clearing our table and serving our bread, who we still had minimal contact with!) We were left waiting too long for a couple of the courses and much, much too long for the bill. We are usually quite easy going, especially my husband, so for him to note that is was taking awhile was indicative of the slowness and attentiveness of service. My lobster was tough and chewy and dindn't have any flavor, and most importantly had a very large piece of what must have been shell in it. I have to say that they did remove the lobster from our bill (only after previously mentioned busboy noticed that I hadn't eaten it and said he would bring it to the chef's attention that it was unsatisfactory). At the end of the meal, I asked for black tea and said to one of our waiters (I was never quite sure who was our main server as they never introduced themselves) "I'd like something like Early Gray" and he snapped "our black tea is nothing like Earl Gray" and walked away after I stammered "oh, ok . . . " In any event, the ambience was nice, and as I said the busboy clearing our dishes was very friendly. We also were seated promptly which I appreciated.
