We went to Ellis Island after reading about it on tripadvisor and elsewhere. It is absolutely delicious! Go to the BBQ, not the restaurant. There are only 4 options--either bbq ribs or chicken, with all of the fixings. It is unbelievable. We showed up on a Monday night, and had to wait about an hour. It was worth it. The casino is a locals joint, which is cool. Sign up for the slot club and you get $3 off your dinner. Everyone is nice, and, as I said, the food is amazing.

This is a great place to stop when you are short on cash and hungry as hell. An entire rack of well-seasoned ribs for under $13 is quite the deal, especially with all of the sides.

The beer from the microbrewery is not the greatest, but the $1 price doesn't hurt.

Don't get the Brewery mixed up with the Restaurant! The BBQ pit is visible from outside, that is where you want to be in the evenings.

My husband and I had been wanting to go there since we saw it profiled on the food network. We went on a Wed evening. We decided to walk from the strip which I don't recomend in heels because it ended up being a little further than I thought. Upon arriving you'll want to join the players club because it gives you a serious discount in the BBQ. It was almost an hour wait to get a table in the BBQ but it was totally worth the wait. My husband had the chicken/ribs combo and a soda. I had the ribs and a glass of wine. Not only was this probally the best BBQ I have ever eaten in my life but our bill was only $20. We will definately be returning on our next visit!

I never go to Vegas without a stop by Ellis Island for a beer (or several) and food. The BBQ is by far the best value near the strip - more food than you can shake a stick at for well under $10. The house brews at the bar are $1.50 and quite tasty. The pizza place makes the best calzone I have ever had.

Sure, the atmosphere is smoky, dark, and glum. The neighborhood, while just a block off-strip, is a bit sketchy. But guess what - it's perfect for what it is. If you want fresh scented air, open ceilings and bright lights, as well as the expensive food and touristy stuff to go along with it, stick with the Venetian. If you like good (cheap) food and beer, chatting with locals, and a bit of an old-timey vegas feel, head off-strip to Ellis.
