Read a lot of reviews, and although they were mixed, visited this place (20th Sept 08) with an open mind. I wish I had'nt bothered. Vegas is meant to be an adults disneyland, a place of excitement and entertainment, Ellis Island has none of this. It has cheap food but when my wife and I went the service was very slow and disorganised, if I had wanted this I'd be better off in a McDonalds. The casino smells of dampness, and is pretty run down. The Karaoke bar seemed to be full of over excited beer swilling women and loud 20 something local boys on stag do's. I really would not recommend wasting any of your time, or vacation, visiting this place.

My husband and I have been going here for three years now. We go for breakfast and ask for the New York strip, 2 eggs and potatoes and toast. Last October it was 3.99. The two years prior it was 3.49. Well worth the price no matter what. It is an older casino but like the other reviews have said food is great and very reasonable. Just make sure to ask s the steak is not on the breakfast menu.We are headed back to Vegas in October and will let you know how it is this year.

Just got back from Vegas. My buddy and I were in the mood for a $5.00 Black Jack table at 12:00 pm on a Saturday night and we were staying at the Imperial Palace. We started wandering down the strip and took a "wrong" turn at Bill's Gambling hall and ended up at Ellis Island. We were "impressed" by the polished cement floors, but we decided to give it a try after our trek. We sat down at a $5- table (which is impossible to find on the Strip on a weekend) and I quickly went up $20-. The drink service was quick and my gambling partner quickly downed a couple of blue hawaiians. We were playing with some locals who worked at the Venetian, and had an excellent time.
The next day, we returned with the full group on the morning of our last day in Vegas for some cheap gambling and almost fell over when we saw a $1 table at 11:00 AM. Sure, that's early for most people, but, I actually experienced a $1 Blackjack table in Las Vegas.

I've heard about this palce for years and on my recent trip, we finally made the walk over. Took the monorail to Bally's/Paris stop, and then straight out the back door...Don't go for the casino, go for the cheap, exceptional food. We ate in The Restaurant and had the $6.99 steak special which was fantastic. But they also have a barbecue joint and the smells were out of this world. We'll it that up next time. One small complaint, the wait was a litle longer than necessary becasue there were several open tables the entire evening we were there. As for the casino, it's small and dingy, but it's cheap. While you're there, take advantage of the cheap table games and slots. It was also karakoe night when we were there, at least there was a show.

don't waste your time. Coupons brought us to this coupon, and we ere enjoying ourselves for a little while. We found the dealers to be very rude. One was so rude we just left. We skipped out before the steak or more gambling due to the very rude and unprofessional behavior of one dealer.
