We went there on a Friday at 6:30pm to see the sunset. We did not have to pay cover charge. We shared one of the yummy Witchdoctor drinks!!! Sunset was unbelieveable and the views from there were really something special - the BEST in VEGAS! All and all we had a great time at Voodoo Lounge and we will definately return in the future. :~)

Well let me start off by commending the Rio Suites and Voodoo Lounge for having the best view in Vegas. That is where the commending stops. I went with my parents and friends on April 14th after a show earlier that evening. We had a free pass from the show for use as cover at the Voodoo.

I am glad because otherwise we would have to pay $20 just to get the wonderfully smug and pompous "cashier" at the door. His name starts with "C". He gave us problems right off the bat. No smile, no greeting. Nothing. We did not read the small print that we had to have the ticket stub from the show; but he MADE SURE that we knew we were wrong...making us feel bad for just wanting to go for a drink on my last night there.

Once we got past C, the Gatekeeper. We hit the elevator to go up to the lounge. I hit both buttons to go up, but the elevator that was blocked off opened and the other one did not. Well, after waiting, I decided to go into the elevator that was blocked off. Well, I realized right away that I did something awful because C yelled at me and said that the elevator was blocked off for a reason. I knew that, but I guess I was too impatient.

The $20 gets you up to the lounge, but I feared what the drinks might have cost. I walked around and looked at the great view and listened to some house music. The DJ was good, but not once was I approached for a drink. The place was not too busy at all.

Although I was dressed according to their dress code, I felt myself and the people I was with were being judged....starting at my experience with C. I guess money talks at this place, so if you are a regular joe and want to drink and just be around good people, go elsewhere. If you want to schmooze or impress your girl, head to Voodoo. Nice view, C the cashier needs an attitude adjustment, and staff can cater to other than the VIP crowd.

The Voodoo Lounge was definitely not the place to be when I was there. The waitresses were extremely rude and consistently brought the wrong drink. There's no place to dance or mingle, and if you're not in the VIP area then you may not stand where you want because the bouncers will physically move you so the VIPs can view what they want to see.

While the view looking out may be good, the clientèle may have dipped in caliber compared to years prior. If you want a good view go to the restaurant and get a steak then head out to a better club where they don't have such a problem with low female attendance.

On a 5 night stay in Las Vegas decided to check out the Voodoo Lounge after reading about it in the guide books. After a long walk from the main strip (next time we will get a taxi!) we arrived at the hotel and had to wait a while in line before paying to get in and take the elevator. Was worth the wait in line!

Once up there we were very impressed with the bar, atmosphere, and most importantly the views of Las Vegas. Had a fantastic night up there. It wasnt cheap to get in but was well worth it. I would reccomend the Voodoo Lounge to anyone looking for a fantastic night out in Vegas. We are already planning to go again when we are next there.

been to the voodoo lounge 3 times in 4 visits to vegas and if i venture on another trip to vegas in the future i'll definately visit the voodoo again.

the first 2 times i went was with friends and we just went to the outside bar area of the voodoo, which means you have to pay a cover charge to enter before you get the lift up. the last time i went i was with my girlfriend and cos i'd told her about this place many times before and it was her first visit to vegas, we made a night of it and had a meal in the restaurant aswell. if you go to the restaurant then you don't have to pay the cover charge at the bottom cos you're spending money on your meal.

the food and service both great and could not be faulted but the highlight of the restaurant is the views. my girlfriend and i were sat at a table next to a full length window ( the whole place is full length windows around ) which was overlooking the strip from bellagio southwards.

after our meal we went out onto the open air bar area which must be about 500 feet up and again, the views are unbelievable.
the rio hotel, where the voodoo lounge is, is set back off the strip slightly, in line with caesars and this means you get great views of the whole of the strip and the desert in the distance. the open air bar and dj give the voodoo a great feeling and the drinks are the same prices as many of the other bars in vegas.

there is of course an inside bar area but with views that the voodoo offers it would be so wrong to stay inside although, i have been up to the voodoo in january and it can get very cold at night, even with outdoor heaters, so the inside bar does come in useful in the winter months.

it's my favourite bar in vegas and i miss it!

if you're visiting vegas you must GO!!!
