we booked our wedding at the bellagio only 9 weeks before our big day.
we chose the east chapel as there were only 8 in our party, and the backdrop of the stained windows made perfect photographs.

our wedding co-ordinator was excellent and no request was too much. we had a harpist who was fantastic and played beautifully. the minister was a fun guy. we even had elvis burst in at the end and timing was of the essence. we weren't let down. everything went perfectly!

we had a mid-range tuscany package of which the cost soon spiralled to £10,000. ($16,000 at the current exchange rate, $20,000 at the usual exchange rate).

the service was fantastic and cannot be faulted. the staff play a huge part in that.

however the hidden costs for absolutely everything are a huge disappointment and you can't help but moan about it! for example they charged me £100 ($160) to steam out the creases on my wedding dress. we thought something like that might be part of the service? my bouquet was $275, and a plain simple bouquet of a dozen roses for my bridesmaid was $100. the mens boutonieres were $45 each. the bellagio won't allow you to arrange your own flowers so these charges are unavoidable.
the flowers in the chapel were also expensive.

there were no little surprises in our room, no rose petals on the bed or bottle of champagne. we thought they might throw something in to congratulate us-not a sausage.

the cost of the photographs are a complete rip off! ok so they were beautiful pictures but for 128 small prints (which were already printed for them to show us) were $2300 before tax. a disc of the pictures was $1300. indivual prints started at $18 each for 5x7 small size. (which are 3pence each in a supermarket). basically for a half decent package you are looking at $4000 plus the cost of the photographer. considering we had already paid for a wedding package and then paid extra for more photography time, we felt robbed.

on arrival, we were given a spa and salon discount voucher of 20%, only to later be told it was not valid on sundays and so it cost $250 to have hair and make-up done in the salon.

this will sound contradictive, but apart from the cost issues, it really was a wonderful day and the service was fantastic. i dont want to put anyone off from getting hitched at the bellagio just merely warn you to be prepared.

we aren't cheap skates at all and we enjoy the finer things in life, but we dont like being taken for a ride.

ive done a separate review for the hotel room, and you will see why the two reviews are separate if you read it!

good luck with your wedding x

I apologise in advance for the length of this review, but im sure that any bride to be will find it helpful.

We have just returned from our week long visit to the Bellagio, where 20 guests joined us for our spectacular wedding on the Terrace. We began planning our wedding in October 2007 with the help of our wedding planner Sandra. We dealt with her throughout all the organising and she kept in regular contact via email. She was always reassuring and treat the wedding as if it were her own, taking care of all the arrangements including music, flowers and salon appointments.
We arrived at the Bellagio to find we had been upgraded to a Lakeview room which was stunning, we had stayed at the bellagio 3 years previously and the rooms were just as beautiful as we remembered.
On the day of the wedding all the ladies went to the salon to have our hair and makeup done. We were spoilt rotten and enjoyed a couple of hours of being pampered with champagne to boot. The salon staff did an amazing job and were a big part in making our day so special.
When the time finally came to go to the Terrace, Sandra was waiting for me and my dad and talked through the proceedings, and offering a stiff drink for my nerves. We were apprehensive as we had organised the whole thing via email, although thoroughly informed we didnt know quite what to expect. I have to say that the whole experience superceeded anything beyond my wildest dreams. As i walked out onto the terrace and looked around all the familiar faces and the amazing setting i was comletely overwhelmed. It was the most romantic and moving setting I have ever encountered and doubt i will ever again. The service was perfect and the fountains were timed perfectly for our first kiss. We were very impressed with the photographer throughout the afternoon and the pictures were not only amazing, but ready the next day. The videographer was so discreet i didnt even remember seeing him. I would advise anyone who gets married here to do the following
* Trust completely in your planner, they are there to help and to ensure the smooth running of your day.
* Use the Salon for hair and make up, i had the works at a cost of $250 dollars, a damn lot cheaper than the UK
* After seeing both the chapels and terrace i would book the terrace even given the extra cost. Its unique, elegant and completely secluded and the perfect setting for beautiful wedding pictures.
*And lastly enjoy and savor every second, it goes by so quickly, it was an experience my husband and i will never forget.

We were married here on 2/8/06. To this day people still talk about how beautiful everything was. The flowers were incredible, the wedding video is flawless, and the photos are stunning.

The only glitch we encountered was when we kissed they did not que the music right away. However who cares...we were married and blissfully happy.

I highly reccomend doing an in room reception if you have a small guest list. We had one in the Lakehouse Penthouse Suite. The food was to die for.

We were married on August 25, 2007. We wanted the best for our 85+ guests so we chose the Bellagio Hotel for our weekend wedding celebration. We obtained great service from all departments except one…THE WEDDING CHAPELS OF BELLAGIO!

Our experience with the chapel was so horrific that it took all the beauty out of the process. They continuously made mistakes, confused things and when asked basic questions/opinions they did not have answers or know how to give direction. The chapel requires that you must use their vendors exclusively but if the chapel is not very qualified, then it is understandable that their vendors would follow suit.

1) Their tuxedo vendor, JennaLeigh’s, didn’t have any of the 7 tuxedos ready because they ordered them incorrectly. However, they wanted to charge extra to deliver them the next day. Also, their limo and store had no air conditioning and my father almost passed out given it was 104 outside. The Bellagio senior coordinator used a canned corporate response when we told her, “this is surprising, as we never had a complaint about them before.” 2) We paid for 2 videographers and only one showed up. 3) The coordinators said we could ship items to the Chapel but didn’t mention that the business center would charge us per box. 4) The chapel recommended that we take a group shot with our guests but instead of recommending an inside location in the hotel they put all of our guests on the Grand Patio in weather that was over 100 degrees! Our guests were sweating in their gowns and suits and very upset. 5) One of the groomsmen overheard the coordinator forcefully tell our flower girl that she must get rid of every last petal in the basket before she got to the end of the aisle. Our poor niece was so nervous that she threw all the petals at the groom’s feet for fear she may be in trouble. 6) And for the grand finale, we prepaid the chapel weeks in advance for a suite near the chapel so that all of the ladies could get ready. Well, we never got the suite they promised, instead all 8 of us had to pack up, stop our hair and makeup, get dressed, find all of our stuff and trek to the complete opposite side of the hotel one hour before the wedding was to begin. We saw the senior coordinator in the hallway and our frustration came out loudly as we were standing there hands full, sweating, makeup dripping and our dresses completely wrinkled again. The coordinators took no responsibility, offered no help and instead transferred blame on my future husband saying he moved us to the other side of the hotel! What kind of experienced wedding coordinator would instigate a potential argument an hour prior to a wedding!???!!!

If you are having a wedding at the Bellagio Chapel, remember it is a casino hotel and the same gambling rules apply….Good Luck!!!

I got married on Easter Sunday on the Terrace at the Bellagio and it was wonderful! Our wedding planner was excellent and made me feel special. Yes it is expensive and sometimes I felt that we would not get value for money however my fears were unfounded. The wedding planner made my reservations in the Spa for my manicure, hair and makeup and also suggested the venue for my reception. We had 13 guests with us and had some issues trying to get meal organised in one of the restaurants. I can recommend Sensi whose staff went out of their way to help us!.
I telephoned my wedding planner and talked through my flowers with her. All other communication was via email. My cake was ordered from JPM as well and was terrific. We arrived at the Bellagio on the Thursday and went to JPM on the Friday where Arnida was very helpul. My cake was beautiful and not expensive compared to UK prices! My photographer was also terrifc and made us feel so much as ease. My husband did not want to go outside to the front of the Bellagio for photos and Rose the photographer took us to the pool area where the flowers were gorgeous under the arches.
The only recommendation I would make is to ensure that you get married at the start of your holiday. You can then enjoy your photos and flowers. I left for my honeymoon 2 days after the wedding and divided up my flowers from the Terrace between my guests who were remaining in Las Vegas for a few more days. I was able to take my Wedding Bouquet to Hawaii on honeymoon with me. It lasted for 2 weeks!
