Made reservations for Memorial Day weekend (party of 2) at Mesa Grill in Caesars Palace Las Vegas. Showed up right at our reservation time and was politely and professionally greeted and taken immediately to our table. Our server was fantastic - polite, light-hearted & conversational (but not too much), and knowledgeable of the menu. For appetizers, we went with the blue corn pancake with BBQ duck & habernero sauce and the oysters. For our main course, my girlfriend went with the seared tuna steak, and I went with the venison (which was fantastic !!) - actually everything we ate was fantastic. We each had a cocktail, an appetizer, a main course, and we shared a dessert and with everthing including tip, we spent about $185.
The drinks were a bit pricey - I got a cactus pear margarita, and my girlfriend had a cosmopolitan and if I remember correctly, the drinks were $12 each ... that's a little steep, but they were very good !!

The atmosphere was pretty casual - one one side of us the guests were wearing suits, the guests on the other side of us were in jeans ... My girlfriend and I were dress/casual as most of the patrons there.

The only things I would say weren't excellent were that some tables had linen table clothes, and some didn't (I couldn't figure out why - but that wasn't a real big deal) However, a lot of the seats have some views of the wall where the person sitting across from you has a view of the open kitchen. They should really think about arranging the seating so that all of the patrons have at least a parial view of the kitchen as opposed to being seated staring at a wall - Honestly, it does take something away from the experience - people are spending good money for a good meal and a nice atmosphere, you really can't sell me on "the wall view". - If Bobby Flay & the Vegas team can make the seating arrangements better, they've knocked it out of the ballpark.

I would certainly eat there again, and I recommend you do the same.

Had reservations at 5:00 on a Saturday afternoon for dinner with a group of 8. Arrived at 4:45 and they were still setting up our table - understandable. At 5:15, we inquired again about our table and were informed that they were "still setting up our table". We were seated almost 15 minutes later in the back room where the decor is minimalist - and not in a "cool" way. More like a bland banquet room kind of way but I guess it's a matter of one's taste.

We were still looking forward to a highly anticipated meal, Bobby Flay style. We started with tortilla chips and goat cheese fondue which was just o.k. but easy for a group to split. Many of us had peach mararitas which sounded much better than they tasted - maybe it was just a bad batch. The bread basket had 3 kinds of items. Consensus was that the cranberry bread was best while the blue corn muffins had a funny aftertaste, and the third was forgetful. I had the pork tenderloin, however it was not cooked to my order. I know it's difficult to prepare for large groups, so I let it pass. I didn't find it to have a lot of flavor and the chile sauce made it hotter - not more flavorful. I usually don't care for sweet potato, however, the sweet potato tomale side was wonderful. I tasted someone else's halibut, which was rather tasteless. And, the spicy chicken was just that and nothing unique. The best at the table was the strip steak - it really was very good (and the most expensive). We were not overly impressed so we decided to skip dessert.

At $30+ per entree alone there are so many other restaurant choices with much better food and service unless you stick with the signature items.

On Sunday, May 1, 2005, 7 of us ate at the Mesa Grill. We all loved it. It was an excellent experience. The dessert sampler was very good. Make a reservation, take your friends and go. The menu is on the internet.

My boyfriend and I just got back from Las Vegas, and our best meal was at Mesa Grill. The atmosphere is fun and funky. we had an excellent view of the kitchen and it was fun watching all of the goings-on of the meal prep! I ordered the pork tenderloin, which was fantastically prepared. The waitstaff was friendly, attentive, and knew the menu well. nice-sized portions left us no room for dessert, unfortunately!

My bf is a former chef, so we are somewhat particular. We can highly recommend mesa grill.

We are huge Bobby Flay fans and were excited about eating at Mesa Grill. The first thing we noticed was that half of the tables had white linen and the other half didn't. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to which tables had what. Looked tacky. We were sat at a two topper. I had my back to the restaurant and had to stare at a wall. If a restarant has an open window view of the chefs, then all chairs should have at least a partial view. The first server came to the table and said the typical "How are you guys this evening?" Last time I checked, I was not a guy. I know this seems to be the normal greeting at restaurants this day and age, but I really had higher hopes for Bobby's staff. The food on the other hand was outstanding and was everything we expected. Note to Bobby: Work on your front of the house staff!
