“Superb dining experience”

We couldn't wait to eat at this new restaurant and it definitely lived up to all the press. The Romaine Salad was wonderful. The spicy dressing and the polenta croutons were a unique touch. The Blue corn and duck pancakes were a terrific appetizer choice as were the crab cakes, which were loaded with crab and wonderful southwest flavours. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the desserts were decadent. My favorite was Bobby's take on the classic ice cream sandwich though. What a delight! The staff was very knowledgable and quite professional. The decor was cutting edge. With only 4 nights in Vegas we tried to choose our dinner destinations carefully. It was by far the best meal we had while in Vegas...better than Wolfgang Pucks Grill in the MGM, which we went to another evening. If you are in Vegas and enjoy fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere...this restaurant is a MUST!

Yummy. The food was great. We started out with a Goat Cheese queso that had a green chiles and blue corn torilla chips. It was really unexpectedly garlicly but delicious! I had the Pork Tenderloin with a sweet potato tamale and my husband had the salmon. Both were really well prepared. For dessert we had the Chocolate Dulce De Leche cake with Toasted Pecan Ice Cream. It was melt in your mouth wonderful.

Be careful with the margaritas, they are strong...and $10 a pop, but you only need one, so it was worth it.

Overall, Bobby Flay has done an awesome job. Beautiful restaurant with terrific food.

“Saturday Brunch was great!”

Enjoyed the food a lot but what was really great was the service. There were what seemed to be three staff members serving us and that's not counting the guy that fills up the water glass. I has a blue corn encrusted red snapper that was really well done. I think it was recommended by the waiter and it certainly didn't dissapoint. Overall, the attitude of staff and atmoshpere was what impressed me the most. My buddy was stoked to be eating at a Bobby Flay restraunt (evidently he watched a tv show about the place being built) but I could have cared less about that. The food was good and the bill was quite reasonable. I wish we'd of been able to see the full menu, though. We were there for lunch on a Saturday and only got the brunch menu which has fewer options.

Overall, a great experience. I am suprised the place is rated so low!

Having been to the NYC original we were curious to see how this new outpost would fare. In short . . . it's a winner.

From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a great meal and dining experience.

Our reservations were at 5:30 (still on eastcoast time) and we arrived early to check in and have a drink at the bar. If you are a tequila lover, be sure to ask for Coop who will pour or mix you a favorite from his extensive selection displayed behind the bar!

We were seated promptly at 5:30 at a corner table on the upper level with a great view of the room. The decor is really well done and gives the room a certain amount of energy.

The food - from the shrimp tamale to the veal chop was simply outstanding . Flavors of the southwest are right at home here in Las Vegas and MESA Grill is the perfect location to experience them.

Service along the way was professional and attentive.

Will not hesitate to visit again. In fact, we're looking forward to it!

“The good and the bad”

My wife and I ate dinner at the Mesa Grill at Ceasar's Palace on Monday evening, January 31, 2005. The first course and the entree were truly outstanding for the both of us. However, the house margarita was about the worst that I ever tasted. Also, the presentation of the house margarita was blah - I sent mine back and declined a remake. The decor is very busy and seems to lack a real theme. The liberal use of hammered copper is very southwestern and effective. However, all those many-colored circles that look like citrus slices close up were distracting and gave the impression of a designer's casual choice of something to just fill space. The very busy decor throughout affected the ambiance of the restaurant in my opinion. Overall, a restaurant with great potential, but I would not be in a rush to go back given all the great restaurant choices in Las Vegas, including right at Ceasar's Palace.
