I have stayed at the Wynn about 10 times and it's still my fave hotel in Vegas. The comps aren't nearly as good as the Palazzo (part of the Venetian), but the beds are a hell of a lot more comfortable. I usually bring my own bed sheets, but the ones at the Wynn are pretty soft, so it's nice not having to do that. I love the whimsical decor, it's very refreshing. Usually I find that nicer hotels are decorated to please the over 60 crowd. The Wynn manages to create a nice upscale environment that doesn't alienate young people.
THE CASINO: The elevator style music kind of sucks, but I love the casino and the dealers here are the best because they are friendly, entertaining and helpful. They always remember us and they just make the gambling experience better than other places. However, I wish the ventilation was better, because it can be very smokey, due to the low ceilings. For the life of me I can not understand why Steve doesn't put a non smoking room in the casino. I know they have non smoking tables, but they're about as effective as a non-peeing section in a pool. Gambling is supposed to be fun, if it's so stressful that you have to smoke then why gamble in the first place? Oh God, and don't get me started on those dreadful cigars!
THE SPA: I love the spa here, but the one at Encore is even better. I have had the best massages of my life here. Skip the Hot Stone massage though, it was pretty lame. I've tried to get massages elsewhere, but they all pale in comparison. Even the spa at St Regis in Newport was a joke after being at the Wynn and Encore spas. I love lounging around and sipping tea with my friends after a night of gambling.
RESTAURANTS: For the most part, they are very overpriced and the food is terrible. I have been to Okada (Teppan sucked and the sushi was decent), Red 8, SW, and Wing Lei. I've also been to Wazuzu at Encore. I didn't have a noteworthy meal at any of them and some were downright gross. If you want great sushi, head over to Nobu at Hardrock (I know, it's a gross hotel, but Nobu is delish). Terrace Pointe Cafe is pretty good for grabbing a snack.
ROOM SERVICE: My fave items are the kids Grilled Cheese, the Lobster Benedict, and the Fruit plate with yogurt. I'm not a fan of the chicken soup.
The pool is wonderful and I like that there is a separate adult pool, but I'm afraid to actually go in it because I'm a germaphobe and I'd feel like I was taking a bath with people who probably have STDs. It's nice to lounge around though (not during summer monhes, too hot). Ladies, be careful if you sunbathe topless. Last time my friend did this, we caught some perverts with a full size professional camera snapping pics of her. We called security and they handled it well. They had to call a specialist down to come and delete the photos.
I love the Wynn (Encore, not so much) and some of the best moments of my life have happened here.
