We received 3 nights free stay at the Wynn. When we arrived, we were told that we had been expected the day before, and didn't have a room for us. We knew the reservations we made, and the desk clerk confirmed that there had been a change to the date by us, which was an untruth. Don't know how they got that info, or they were just trying to mess with us. If they did the change to our date, they certainly did not notify us.

My other issue was the pool area. We had no problem lining up at the pool to reserve some beds (which was the only way to guarantee seating anytime during the day). However we were blatantly ignored by the pool waitresses (or whatever they were called). Tried to place orders with them, which were never brought to us. Or sometimes they would tell us they'll be right back to take our order, and never would come back. It was easier just getting our own stuff.

My final issue was the way everything was so overpriced. Food there was ridiculous. I got so tired of paying so much!

I will say that I loved our room, it was huge, comfortable. The mattress was amazing, and that was the rollaway bed!

First let me emphasize... take comfortable shoes! Yes you want to look sharp, but nothing ruins your trip faster than blisters. I have been to Vegas 3 times and have had major blisters three times. This time my sister and I resorted to going to Macy's and purchasing house shoes to finish up the trip. (They were cute black ballet style shoes that actually didn't look too bad.)<P>

I had received a card advertising two FREE night at the Wynn. I had already booked four night trip at MGM, but canceled two of the nights there, because who in their right mind would pass up FREE nights at the Wynn. <P>

I will say my first two nights of the trip at MGM were nice, nothing spectacular, but i had a good rate there also and the staff and rooms were very pleasant. THe slot machines were tight! My sister had arrived about 10 hours before me and had went thru her cash quite quickly. The check-in was very smooth.... the checkout at around 10:30 was a really big hassle, after them moving me to three different lines, a nice fellow finally noticed that I wasn't making any progress and moved me to the VIP checkout. <P>

We took our taxi to the WYNN, it was early for check-in probably around noon, but they already had a room ready and let us check in early. The staff was so sweet. THe lobby as well as the rooms, casino etc. were immaculate at all times. Our doorknob was a little sticky, but they sent someone up in minutes and fixed it right away. THe view wall sized window had a nice view of the golf course, but I am sure it was not one of the better views. (for the price I was well satisfied.) The curved hallways kept giving flashbacks of "The Shining". <P>

The Red Card comp system seemed to really pay off the first day with free buffet, free play etc., but the next day I had racked up 1000 points and it wouldn't even get me a free breakfast, so I am not sure how it works exactly. The machines were nice but also very tight<p>

We saw Loui Anderson which was wonderful, THe Jersey boys which were also great. Across the street in front of the mall is a discount ticket booth for shows, it pays to get there early and you can find tickets to most shows the day of for about half price.<p>

We ate at the breakfast buffet at the Wynn two mornings and it was ok, nothing great. We had lunch at one restaurant in the shopping esplanaide and it was also ok. It is worth a taxi ride to do the Breakfast Buffet at Paris. It is much better and less expensive too. The Wynn caters to a very upscale traveler, which is great, but I did miss having deli or fast food area nearby for a quick snack.<p>

Make sure to visit Encore. It is spectacular also and the shopping hall connects it with the Wynn it is a really quick walk. In my experience it was worth the 5 minute or so walk to the casino in Encore as it had the only slot machines that I found that were paying off at all.<P>

I have stayed at Harrah's, MGM, Caesars Palace and now Wynn. If money is no object or you luck up like me and get it for FREE... the Wynn is the best hands down.

My boyfriend and I were very excited to stay at the Wynn for the first time. However, when we arrived we were a little shocked at the 35 minute wait to check in but we made great conversation in line with other people attending the Dave Matthews Band concert that we were going to so we let that one go. At the front desk we opted for the $25 "upgraded room" located in the higher floors. Here is what we found in our upgraded room:

- One room key worked
- There was white substance (eww) on 2 bathroom walls
- The shower did not drain and overflowed onto the tile
- Only one side of the automatic curtains works...you never want that much light into your room in the morning, trust me!

We had to get going to our concert right away since registration took an hour longer then we anticipated. We decided to go to our concert on time and report the issues when we return. When we reported the issues to the manager on the phone we were first lectured about our lag time in reporting the issues. He then let us know that he will promptly fix all the rooms issues upon our check out (what do we care what he does with the room when we leave!). He then let us know we were not on the 5 star side of the resort and only on the 4 star side (Does it matter?). He then offers us a room on the lower level that we just spent $25 more to not be on. My boyfriend then realizes that he should just ask for the necessities. So he suggests they at the least just fix our shower so we can take a shower. After some resistance the manager sends a very nice maintenance worker to fix the shower. We checked out that next day and were much happier at another hotel.

Oh, and for those who like to eat...good luck. This resort only has a handful of resturants with outrageous lines and prices.

We stay reguarly in Vegas, but have not stayed at Wynn since it first opened when we had a fabulous experience. This stay was not quite so fab. We arrived Sunday and one room was ready, but the other was not ready until 5.15 - we had to line up 4 times to sort out rooms/keys etc.. Not particularly friendly check-in. The first night we were kept awake on the 37th floor all night due to the outdoor pool party at Encore. The concierge advised us this is a weekly Sunday night event. The next night we were kept awake all night by the nightclub at Encore!!! The third night we moved and had a great night's sleep. We agree with other comments about being careful about the doors not shutting. The rooms are starting to get shabby - wallpaper peeling and house keeping below par plus the drapes did not close all the way. On the upside, the pool area is excellent as is the casino. the Taste of Wynn menu concept is great. The concierge and valet/taxi staff were all very good. We also wonder about this being a playing field for the uber-wealthy. At Bellagio we have always felt like special and welcomed guests, so we will be returning there in future. We mark this as great value as we got a special deal on the rooms, however, we would rather have paid more for 3 good nights sleep and to be treated with respect.
