My boyfriend and I were very excited to stay at the Wynn for the first time. However, when we arrived we were a little shocked at the 35 minute wait to check in but we made great conversation in line with other people attending the Dave Matthews Band concert that we were going to so we let that one go. At the front desk we opted for the $25 "upgraded room" located in the higher floors. Here is what we found in our upgraded room:

- One room key worked
- There was white substance (eww) on 2 bathroom walls
- The shower did not drain and overflowed onto the tile
- Only one side of the automatic curtains works...you never want that much light into your room in the morning, trust me!

We had to get going to our concert right away since registration took an hour longer then we anticipated. We decided to go to our concert on time and report the issues when we return. When we reported the issues to the manager on the phone we were first lectured about our lag time in reporting the issues. He then let us know that he will promptly fix all the rooms issues upon our check out (what do we care what he does with the room when we leave!). He then let us know we were not on the 5 star side of the resort and only on the 4 star side (Does it matter?). He then offers us a room on the lower level that we just spent $25 more to not be on. My boyfriend then realizes that he should just ask for the necessities. So he suggests they at the least just fix our shower so we can take a shower. After some resistance the manager sends a very nice maintenance worker to fix the shower. We checked out that next day and were much happier at another hotel.

Oh, and for those who like to eat...good luck. This resort only has a handful of resturants with outrageous lines and prices.

We stay reguarly in Vegas, but have not stayed at Wynn since it first opened when we had a fabulous experience. This stay was not quite so fab. We arrived Sunday and one room was ready, but the other was not ready until 5.15 - we had to line up 4 times to sort out rooms/keys etc.. Not particularly friendly check-in. The first night we were kept awake on the 37th floor all night due to the outdoor pool party at Encore. The concierge advised us this is a weekly Sunday night event. The next night we were kept awake all night by the nightclub at Encore!!! The third night we moved and had a great night's sleep. We agree with other comments about being careful about the doors not shutting. The rooms are starting to get shabby - wallpaper peeling and house keeping below par plus the drapes did not close all the way. On the upside, the pool area is excellent as is the casino. the Taste of Wynn menu concept is great. The concierge and valet/taxi staff were all very good. We also wonder about this being a playing field for the uber-wealthy. At Bellagio we have always felt like special and welcomed guests, so we will be returning there in future. We mark this as great value as we got a special deal on the rooms, however, we would rather have paid more for 3 good nights sleep and to be treated with respect.

We stayed two nights at the Wynn, based on our daughter's recommendation and were not disappointed. We have walked through the Wynn's casino before and were in awe but never stayed at the hotel. Without question this is one of the best if not the best on the strip. Steve spared no expense in constucting and outfitting the facility. Everything is top drawer. We had a resort room that was 650 SF with a sofa and ottoman, desk, dinning table and chairs, fax machine, mini bar, flat screen TV, safe, robes and great bedding and towels (available for purchase.) The bathroom is all luxury as well with a large glass shower, large tub, his & her sinks and a private toilet. The greatest thing about the room was the floor to ceiling and wall to wall windows. The curtains are all automated. We were on the 31st floor and what a view!

The restaurants are beautiful but very pricey. We ate numerous times at the Terrace restaurant which was great value for very good food. It is adjacent to the pools and affords great views. Service in the restaurant was good but not great.

The pool area is one of the most attractive I have seen, ringed with beautiful cabanas on two levels. There are two large pools, one of which is a Euro style pool, and one jacuzzi. The pools are a maximum depth of 4 feet and not conducive to swimming but more strolling and wading. The worst thing about this area is the artificial turf. I am not sure why they felt the need to install this in very small areas. There is even a large bar between the pools with several gaming tables all covered by a shading roof.

The hotel location is great, away from the crowds and vendors closer to Flamingo Blvd. It is directly across the street from the Fashion Mall which has a one-half price ticket outlet for most shows. Don't pay full price, use the ticket outlet. Get there at 9:30 AM each day, before it gets too hot and to get the best seats, for the day of the show you want.

All-in-all a great experience.

We've eaten at the Wynn numerous times (amazing), and even seen Le Reve (average, it doesn't compare to Mystere, Ka or O), but had yet to stay there. So last weekend we booked a room and relaxed.

Rooms: Large, spacious, with floor to ceiling windows. Fantastic bedding and linens. The only nit was that our non-smoking room had a bathroom vent connected to a smoking floor and we had to close the bathroom doors and stuff towels under them (the security guard came to our room and explained the situation, said they were working on fixing it, and offered to move us, which we couldn't given our explosion of luggage; we didn't want to re-pack & unpack again). So be sure to ask for a non-smoking room that doesn't have this problem!!!

Staff: Gracious and well trained. More reserved than, say, the new M Resort, which also has amazing staff, as I think they tend toward "elegant" over "friendly" in their training.

Euro-Deck: Wow, a topless pool that doesn't cost extra money and that doesn't have house music blasting so loud that you can't have a conversation. My new favorite pool in Las Vegas!!! Given the Wynn's style, there were a lot of languages being spoken around the pool, lots of European (and some American) girls with their tops off, no hordes of single guys staring, wonderful jazz-y music that was great to chill by, and just an all around relaxing and comfortable environment. We'll be back with friends.
