My wife and I took in "An Evening at La Cage" in February '06; and we really enjoyed the show from start to finish.

Frank Marino as Joan Rivers was hilarious, and the other performers not only did a great job, some were downright spooky in their resemblance(s)& mannerisms of the stars they impersonate.

Most notable in their performances/impersonations were: Brent Allen as "Bette Midler", John Bloss as "Reba McEntire", Steven Wayne as "Cher", Lane Lassiter as "Michael Jackson", "Judy Garland" and the extremely outrageous and hilarious "Tammy Spraynet" (I don't remember the last two performers' names).

Yes the showroom is a little old, but all the seats provided a great view of the stage and performances.

There are plenty of deals to be found for these (and other) show tickets; and we took full advantage of one of them.

For a total cost of $69.50 (including the post-show drinks we purchased) we had a great time, some big laughs, saw some great impersonators; and would highly recommend "An Evening at La Cage" for anyone looking for a truly enjoyable show.

Save your cash. Go to your local gay bar and you will see a better stage set up. The performers are wicked but the seating, stage and 'waitng' area is just terrible. You are pushed through like a herd of cattle.
Seating=sucky
Show=awesome

You'd be crazy to travel to Vegas and miss this show. It's hilarious. The acts really are stunning, and to their credit, don't take themselves too seriously. You won't believe how amazingly similar these artists are to the celebrities they impersonate - it's not only the look, but the mannerisms and posture. The usual host was on vacation this week, but the stand-in did a great performance and had the audience hooting with laughter.

The theater itself - consistent with prior reviews on this site - is a little shabby, but I wouldn't let that dissuade from buying a ticket and seeing this gem of a show. You can almost always get half-price tickets at the half-price ticket booths in the coca-cola building, or elsewhere on the strip.

Enjoy!

First of all An Evening at La Cage is a very entertaining way to spend a couple of hours in Vegas. The performers are energetic, they give a great effort, and look like they are having fun. Yes, it is all lip synched, if you don't like that, you won't like this show. Lip synching like anything else is a skill, and some of the performers are better at it than others. The only time it really bothered me was with one specific performer who was not so good at it, at became very obvious and embarassing.
The "host" of the show is impersonating Joan Rivers, but really, Joan Rivers can only wish she looked half as good as this one. She (he) was very funny, and told some dirty jokes to loosen up the crowd. He was live, not lip-synched and really was good working the crowd.

Now the negative...
We paid for "premium" seating which meant close to the stage, and when we picked up our tickets the man said the premium seats also meant we don't have to wait in line. Great, so we took our time getting to the theatre. When we get there, we find two lines, one for regular seats the other for premium seats. There are already 20 people in line for the premium seats. When we ask someone about this they reply "this is how we do it" and are quite rude about it. After about 30 minutes standing in line (listening to a lot of other people with the same complaint) they finally let us in. In the "VIP" section there are 20-30 seats along the aisles (the best seats in the house) that have "reserved" signs on them. I assume these are for the people who tip the staff and the time share sufferers. We overhear many people ask about those seats only to hear "they are reserved" Well, guess what? No one showed up to sit there , and they didn't let people move. So picture a very small theatre, and the best 20-30 seats in the house are empty. Way to go guys! Bet that made the performers feel great!

The show is very good, but they really need to move it to a better casino with a competent staff, not a dump like the Riviera.

First of all you have to get your tickets at the GIANT Coke stand on the strip the day of the show. ..their half-price!! Then you must upgrade to preferred seating. After that enjoy the show!! Liza, celine, Britney,...they were all Great and Rick, the host is a Blast!! (S)he changes into different elegant gowns, jewelry and all between each person's act. Plus, (S)he is hilarious!! We've reccomended this to friends since we've gotten back and they're planning on going, too.
