All I can say is: Where's the Beef? This is supposed to be one of the best hotels in Vegas, in fact in the world (if you believe their hype). But my room featured stained carpet, stained chairs (I wonder what THAT was), and a mattress that was on a par with my local HoJo. Worst of all: I went down my first morning to do my routine 30 minutes on the treadmill. Guess What? It costs an additional $27 a day to use the fitness center. Now THAT's cheesey; and cheep; and Mickey Mouse; and just plain STUPID. No in-room coffee, outlets missing covers in the room and some outlets not working at all. I'll never waste my time or money here again!

Our family just returned from a 4 night stay at TheHotel at Mandalay Bay Resort. This was our first trip to Las Vegas and we were very happy with our choice. The suite was fabulous! Beautifully appointed, very clean. We appreciated the seperate temperature controls in the sleeping and sitting areas. Everything looked brand new! The queen sized beds had wonderful pillow-topped mattresses, luxurious sheets and down pillows. There was a large full bath, with a soaking tub and seperate shower, plus a 1/2 bath which our teenaged daughter took for her own. Very nice when getting ready to go out!
We had an amazing view of the entire strip from our room on the 23rd floor. Plenty of elevators, very fast service.
We ate Sunday Champaign brunch at the Bayside Buffet, which was excellent! Lots of choices, seafood, chinese dishes, lamb, veal cutlet, prime rib, sushi.... all were very good.
The pools and beach were wonderful! Yes, it was crowded at the wave pool and the lazy river. (It was 110 degrees, where else would you want to be?) But, we were able to find chairs easily at both 11:00 am and later at 3:00. There were also several pool areas to choose from and two were not crowded at all on the days we were there. Thanks to the nice lady who gave us her innertube as she was leaving..... If you plan to visit here save some money and bring a tube from home.
The only complaints I have are 1: the tour busses don't pick up at TheHotel, so you have to walk to the Tour lobby at the Mandalay. 2. The pool is also at the Mandalay, so it is quite a walk through the casino. to get to the "beach".
But, after all the noise and hectic atmosphere of the strip TheHotel is a peaceful respite to which to come home.

We have just returned from a two week stay at The Hotel and it was amazing. After reading reviews before going we were a bit unsure but everyones experiences are different aren't they, we had no problems at all, with check in we were in our suite within 10 minutes of arriving, it was spotless with nothing out of place, it was always cleaned in a morning before we came back from the pool. The beds were so comfy I could have stayed there all day. The pool did get very busy but we are early birds and were always there for 8 o'clock, so we had no problems in getting a place. We even got to see all of Englands qualifying World Cup Games in the Sports Book which we weren't expecting to see. I loved everthing about it and I am now having withdrawal syptoms from Vegas life, counting the weeks to our next visit.

Our rooms were not ready at the promised 3 o'clock check in time and were told rudely that they actually had until 6 to have our rooms ready. The pool area was very nice but you were lucky to get a chair, it was very overcrowded. We were reprimanded for having our 4 year-old son in the wave pool (even though 2 of us were holding his hands, he had a life vest on, and we never went above his knees in the water). We were rudely told to get him in the kiddie pool, which was FULL of drunk adults. The pool area closed at 7o'clock 2 nights, and 6 o'clock the last 2 nights so they could have concerts in the entire pool area. The rooms were nice and very large and could have easily housed four adults but no quad rooms are available in this hotel. The front desk staff was rude on check out.

Ive been to vegas quite a few times before and never encountered such a bad experience. While I was asleep in my room someone entered-according to hotel security they used a key-and stole alllll my stuff out of the living room.I know that I should have used the room safe and deadbolted the door-which ive kicked myself many a time for not doing.Well over ten thousand dollars of stuff was stolen.Unfortunately Ive come to realise that these things can happen no matter what grade of hotel you are at-my problem with the hotel at mandlay bay was the way which they handled the theft.I was sent to security who pretty much just shrugged, got me to write a report of what was taken and said they would get back to me within a few weeks.Im still waitng. They then sent me off in the blistering heat to walk to the police station without even so much as an apology.Granted I was crying and incredibly upset about the situation but they were incredibly unhelpful. While making the police report the officer told me that this kind of theft-despite actually being in the room at the time-was common and that they had dealt with similar cases at mandalay bay.I obviously told the hotel I didnt want to pay for the stay-which they didnt not like one bit. They said we would "discuss" that the following day when I checked out much to my annoyance. The next day i made it very clear I wasnt negotiating paying for the stay and they refunded my money-but not happily. The really scary thing is that I asked to be told exactly what the "investigation" into the theft would entail and was told that there was no security footage of the hallways of the hotel.Thats actually really scary that there is no way of knowing who is going into peoples rooms and stealing their stuff-if not worse. The good news is that I havent been put off visiting vegas for life-just the hotel at mandalay bay.I cant advise people planning on visting the hotel to use the safe/locks on the door strongly enough.
