There's really not much to say about Mandalay Bay, except that it's an incredible property. The rooms are 1st class and enormous. Everything everywhere is top notch...expect check-in. I stood in line for an hour on a weekday afternoon. I don't even want to think about how long you have to wait on a Friday evening!

“Pleasant Stay at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay”

I surprised my husband with a trip to Vegas for this 50th birthday. We had never been there before, so didn't know what to expect. Overall, we were very satisfied with The Hotel. We had rented a car and it was a bit confusing to know where to park and check in. The nice thing about Vegas is that many hotels offer free valet parking. So all we had to do was drive up, and the valets took care of the rest. I do agree that the desk staff appeared to be complacent and indifferent. Perhaps we were just spoiled by the solicitous greeting we received when we went to Cancun. The hotel lobby is quite beautiful and the casino is spacious, and not crowded the way the Bellagio is. The room was clean, comfortable, and the bathroom was big and had both shower and tub. Loved the toilettries. Although it is located on the far end of the strip, we liked the feeing of getting away from it all. If we ever go to Vegas, we will definitely go to The Hotel.

I was tempted to give it 4 stars, but its really a 4 1/2 stars experience. The room is super convenient, although small for a suite - there is very little empty space, once the furtniture is in place. Bellagio's Salone suite, although is a studio suite is larger thatn this 1 bedroom suite.)

The living room is extremely narrow, but still very functional and has an extra 1/2 bathroom. The bedroom is fine and the bathroom is nice and modern.

The problem with this new tower is that the pool area is now a complete mad house. This is exactly why this is not a 5 star experience. Pool area is a poor man's version of a spring break: no space, no lounge chairs, everyone on top of each other, kids running around, not a hint of a shade area. Mandalay adds 1,000 people to the property without so much as building another pool.

Dining is average - china grill is past its prime, rum jungle is also on the way down.

Someone wrote about the view in a previous post - remember if you are not facing the strip, you are facing the highway (pool view, lol) as this is the first hotel from the airport.

Everyone raves about it, but I assume most will come back with a similar review as mine: fine property with good rooms, tough pool situation and dining with 10,000 people from Mandalay Bay and Four Seasons.

“liked it”

First warning. The bed is not comfortable unless you like sleeping on a stone slab. The bed is hard like a rock and I must say I like a firm bed. The towels were not soft either. The average room in the hotel is okay. I think for the money you spend it should be better than ok. The hotel toiletries are nice. Nice soaps and lotions. The pool area (which is why we picked the hotel) was alright. The lazy river was nice but, the rest was not up to what we expected. The first chair we wanted to sit on at the pool was broken. The pool area isn't as tropical or lush as the Bellagio. Just not as fancy as we would of liked. I think there are nicer hotels to stay at for the money.

My hubby and I stayed at The Hotel for a night in April. We got a really good midweek rate of 169$ which was great. The Hotel is very sleek and classy. We had excellent service from the moment we checked in. We were able to get a high floor strip view room with amazing views. The room was clean and was everything that we expected. The bathroom was gorgeous with the glass shower and DEEP soaking tub. The beds were comfortable and the three tv's were a nice touch. Definitely would stay here again!
