I was tempted to give it 4 stars, but its really a 4 1/2 stars experience. The room is super convenient, although small for a suite - there is very little empty space, once the furtniture is in place. Bellagio's Salone suite, although is a studio suite is larger thatn this 1 bedroom suite.)
The living room is extremely narrow, but still very functional and has an extra 1/2 bathroom. The bedroom is fine and the bathroom is nice and modern.
The problem with this new tower is that the pool area is now a complete mad house. This is exactly why this is not a 5 star experience. Pool area is a poor man's version of a spring break: no space, no lounge chairs, everyone on top of each other, kids running around, not a hint of a shade area. Mandalay adds 1,000 people to the property without so much as building another pool.
Dining is average - china grill is past its prime, rum jungle is also on the way down.
Someone wrote about the view in a previous post - remember if you are not facing the strip, you are facing the highway (pool view, lol) as this is the first hotel from the airport.
Everyone raves about it, but I assume most will come back with a similar review as mine: fine property with good rooms, tough pool situation and dining with 10,000 people from Mandalay Bay and Four Seasons.
