“The Best Italian food in Vegas”

The Pasta Shop is all about excellent food. Period.

Located at Tropicana and Eastern (SE corner), as others have written, in a strip mall. If you werent specifically looking for it, you would not go there.

Still has the zebra tablecloths and art work. There is no lobby, maitre d' stand etc. Walk in the door and you are in the restaurant. We arrived just after they opened at 5 on a Wednesday and the waiter said "sit anywhere you are comfortable". This was typical of the relaxed approach.

We had the polenta appetizer, very good. We were then brought caesar salad, which confused us since we did not order it. Maybe it comes with all entrees? Also very good and made fresh, the "old fashioned" way. The entrees were simply spectacular. The special that day was pork medallions in a brandy creme sauce over rigatoni. The BEST meal I have had anywhere in the world. We were in Rome last month and never ate that well. Dessert was an excellen tiramisu.

Total for 2 with 2 glasses of wine and tip (20%) was $95. You would easily pay double that in another large city and enjoy the food nearly as well.

If you are familiar with Rosa's in Toronto or La Grotta in Atlanta, the food here is the equal of either place.

I went for the $20 prix fix lunch on a Friday in March 2007. My friend recommended it and said it was the best food she's had in the U.S. The only thing I thought was really good was the aged-beef appetizer. The rest of lack-luster. The duck confit was a bit salty and the BBQ sauce shrimp appetizer wasn't all that. They charged me $17 for a glass of champaign. Reticulous if you ask me because it didn't taste any different than a $7 glass of champaign.

I travel to Las Vegas often both for business and pleasure. Over the last 20 years I have been to most of the Italian restaurants on the strip and around town. The Pasta Shop is simply the best in town at any price.

It is located off the strip, but not far off the strip on Tropicana. The menu selection is superb, quality fantastic, and the low prices will more than pay for a taxi if you go with plenty of folding money left over.

Give it a try, you will not be eating Italian on the strip anymore after your first visit.

The Pasta Shop is great. Best pasta my wife and I have ever had. The restaurant is small and in a strip-mall on East Tropicana and Eastern (about 2-3 miles from the strip). Prices are very reasonable and the food and service is wonderful. Our waiter was one of the owners and the chef brought our food to the table! This has been added to our must do list for Vegas - try it you won't be disappointed.

A small, locally owned place. The location is in a strip mall, but inside is colorful and arty. There were zebra striped cloths on the tables and a local artist had colorful metal artwork displayed on the wall (for sale). The menu is concentrated on the chefs' specialties, but there is a good variety. We felt very welcomed by the server, he was knowledgeable and prompt with service. Our meals were delicious with good size portions and nice presentations. Chicken Davida: a large breaded chicken breast, covered with eggplant, sundried tomatoes, and cheese; a large serving of grilled vegetables on the side. My meal:ravioli in olive oil, roma tomatoes, and basil. The cheese inside, smooth and creamy, the pasta very tender. This was not olive garden - i don't think I saw spaghetti and meatballs on the menu - hooray! Give this place a try!!!!
